I love my BOLO. Some people will say it’s a BARONG, not BOLO blade, but who cares? Schrade refers to it as a “Big Ole Lopper-Offer”, and that fits. I’ve been using mine for about four years now and it has handled EVERY cutting, chopping, and wood processing job without fail. Right now, I know you can get it online for around $25! It’s funny to me that they classified it as a machete. Personally, I’d rather call it a big knife or short sword. GET ONE! You won’t regret it.
The state of the art balance testing device also is a great way to observe blade stiffness. When seen in slow motion, Precelia came in first with a world class wobble, both in extent and duration. This could be a money making patent, the "SOP Blobble test" (i.e., the blade wobble test.) It's not a machete if it doesn't blobble, it is just a really big knife.
Sweeeeet! I want a Priscilla but the Bolo is my favorite of all my big blades. It's a manchopper! And what's a centimeter? Is that a device for counting pocket change?
HEY cfm990. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?! YOUR STATEMENT MIXES A STANDARD UNIT OF MEASUREMENT WITH A METRIC UNIT OF MEASUREMENT!!! ...A METRIC UNIT OF MEASUREMENT?!?!?! ARE YOU INSANE?!?!?! They are two SEPARATE systems of measurement! Combining the TWO SEPARATE UNITS OF MEASUREMENT when describing a SINGLE space is ...just ...just ... just crazy!!! CRAZZZZZYYY!!! 😫 😜🤣😂🤣😂 ...I crack myself up sometimes
Back in the day I worked at a independent garage for about a year before I joined the navy and after 4 years at the Mopar dealer. At the Indy, we did foreign cars, mostly BMW,Benz,Jag,etc, etc. Enough rambling. At the second stop occasionally you would be working on a Jag or a Range Rover and none of your wrenches or sockets would fit a bolt, not your metric, not your standard. My boss had a few of what he called limey wrenches. What they were was British imperial wrenches. They read fractional like an SAE standard wrench but the sizes are just a little different. So when you say standard, you're right. It's not exactly the same as imperial, close but not quite.
Another good review; thank you! Might have to see about the Pricilla. I have a Condor parang that I purchased specifically to keep up with the bamboo in the back 40...just a wonderful tool. You might like that one better.
Perfect Saturday morning Schrade video with my coffee. Thank you sir. PS I still cannot figure out what language you are speaking with this centimeter stuff. Lol
Would also be interested on your take about which blades work best for which foliage. I've found that different designs (and in particular different thicknesses and edge geometries) tackle different plants differently. I don't expect you to be an arborist, but as you know, California creosote bush is different from Oregon vine maple which is different from Georgia kudzu.
+John Smith it would be kind of difficult for me to try anything out on California or Oregon plants. But I think generally thicker stiffer Blades work best on heavier wood
Awesome Bryan :) All three are cool blades! My favorite by the looks is Priscilla. It is a fantastic looking blade with really nice sheath. For my purposes the parang would probably be the best suitable of all three. The bolo has nice sheath with accessory pouch. All three are well balanced indeed! Great to see them big blades fly :) Funny how units of measure can be such an issue. Metric and inches both do the job. I´m fine with both. I think it is nice you give the measurements in both and with some humor :) Oh, would sure be interesting to see how it went and what went wrong with the push button to automatic conversion. As always, big thumbs up Bryan!
all 3 look great, would love to get a Priscilla! that parang though! love the black look and the sharp edge gleamed like a white stripe, reminded me of a Mephitidae.
Survival On Purpose had you done a review on the Brush Demon? I love that thing. I certainly liked the Priscilla the best. nice video. keep up the good work too!
Yes to the knife fail, after all we learn from our failures. I like that you show schrade products, they work. Any plans to review the old timer splinter?
How many takes did you do to get that intro of all three blades sticking? Althoug I haven't personally before any of these, I agree with your choice of the gold medal chete, the Precilla looks pretty sweet.
I think your videos are great!! My personal favorite is the Bolo, but any of the three would be an awesome addition to my kit. I may have to raid the piggy bank.
thank you so much for another great review, I can't believe that the origional Priscilla review snuck passed me as I watch all you vids. but now I'm sure; the Priscilla for me. thanks again, you know us Grrls love it when you get all scientific. lol.
can you add next time the thickness of the blades?... the weight kind of gives me an idea but not sure by looking at the video... I just bought me a army machete short but 6mm or 1/4" thick and love the feel of the weight for chopping, so I am looking at the ones you had there but after few machetes now I notice that the blade thickness is a good gauge for me to get the whole information to make a decision to buy or not to buy , I am staying away from thin flexible blades ...Bolo seems interesting but the thickness of the blade will make it or break it for me.. thanks for you videos.
so I've been looking for something to use as a chopper for ages now to pair with my Gerber strongarm and I just don't know what to go with. have you got any recommendations? also thank you for metric conversions.
I agree those are the best Schrade Machetes and I agree the order. My only issue with all 3 is the 3cr13 steel. Have you used them enough to tell how well the steel holds up over time? Also, which one is "most balanced" ?
+Roy Fernbach I have not used any of them enough to judge the steel. I honestly think people make a bigger deal about steel than is warranted much of the time. And Priscilla seems to fly best.
Bring on the fail video. I know I learn a LOT from my own failures, so why not get a heads up from yours too? If you're going to be at Blade Show, I have GOT to hear the Measurement Police story...lol.
+Charles Collier yeah, not so much a story as a constant flow of seriously angry comments. Although I do have one such comment saved on my phone because it is priceless. I think it is from someone still pissed about that business back in 1776
Say Heah, Yeah,,I like to use a long knife to bushwhack through that young bramble. One of my Fav's. is my Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure Parangatang in the 1095 CroVan. But I was never to crazy about those brown handled. Sane with my Potbelly. But I was able to find (2) sets of black handle so now my Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure Potbelly and my Parangatang have Black Handles. WoW and what a difference. I really like them better in Black than the Brown. I also have a Toxic Green Set for each. Yeah, the handles on the Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure ZT Swabbie handles and the ZT Zomstro Handles will switch with the Potbelly and the Zomstro. This is a F.Y.I. for you. Yeah, I like black handles and because they simply match more of my knives as combo's. I didn't use a long knife today. But I had a 7.3"+ blade my Fox Jungle Parang that I teamed with my Cold Steel 3V Master Hunter for not only a lovely piece of kit. But the way the two complimented eachother. Yeah, a Awesome Pair. But now with black handles on my Parangatang, I could easily add it to this set if I wanted too, Or better yet. My Ruckie which is one of my Fav's (.) Heh heh heh I meant to emphasis the period and I made it L@@K like a boobie, heh heh heh
+Tom Olofsson not as in haters of the metric system but rather as haters of anyone who dares to make facetious remarks about the metric system. How dare I not take that subject seriously. Don't I realize that the US is only one of 3 countries who don't use the metric system?
Priscilla is a nice looking machette, may have to pick one up so I can state the measurements wrong. Guess I don't like math enough to be triggered....
+Dynasty Preppers I think the folks who get triggered are just covering up their feelings of inadequacy due to their struggle with fractions. I mean anybody can move a decimal left or right. It takes skill to add 3/8 and 5/64.
Very nice and informative video 👍 And thank you, that you are using also grams and centimeters❗ That shows respect also to the people outside US. Thumbs up 👍
I appreciate your attention to precision, and meticulous calibration. It's perfect enough to make a German engineer nod in dignified approval.
Gotta have a parange!!! Exellent demo, BTW!!! LIKED, SAVED, SHARED AND SUBSCRIBED!!!
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Brian thanks for the review. Love the Priscilla. Light weight easy to carry
And ever so nimble
I love Schrade Saturdays!! Thank you Bryan. I needed a Schrade fix, it's been a long week.
+Scott Hill thanks

GET ONE! You won’t regret it.
Those aren't bad, can't believe that parang throws so good.
Indeed
nice review, i am old school and dont like the metric system, but it is cool that you give the specs
+danhold1 Holdcroftski I aim to please
You did this a few years ago and also included the SCHF 48 Jethro. It will out do all of these.
I like them all but I'd love to have the Priscilla, one sweet blade design.
Please show the "fail" knife mod.
+China Tosinthiti I'll tey

I like the SCHPR1 CP Perang machete, and I would like to thank you for the informational video above.
Thanks for watching.
If there was a “hypothetical” zombie apocalypse which one would you take
Sweeeeet! I want a Priscilla but the Bolo is my favorite of all my big blades. It's a manchopper! And what's a centimeter? Is that a device for counting pocket change?
+Marc Rhodes ;-)
Triggered over units of measure? Well from here on in, my safe spaces will measure 12' x 3m
+cfm990 ;-)

Leave it to the brits. They still weigh in stones.
Appreciate the comparison video. This will help in choosing a machete.
Yes, I would like to see what happened to the knife.
+B Mathews I'll try to edit that disaster
Another great video. All three blades look good. Now I gotta decide which one I need to buy. I'm edging toward the Priscilla.
Choices, choices. What a great problem to have
Another good review; thank you! Might have to see about the Pricilla. I have a Condor parang that I purchased specifically to keep up with the bamboo in the back 40...just a wonderful tool. You might like that one better.
+jharbo1 you never know
Perfect Saturday morning Schrade video with my coffee. Thank you sir. PS I still cannot figure out what language you are speaking with this centimeter stuff. Lol
+Bump Staggers believe it or not there are still folks stuck in the metric system. ;-)
Great reviews - nice to see how you ranked them.
Thanks!

Great video Brian, I agree, Priscilla is my favorite! Thank you and Schrade!
Good luck Sherri!
Thanks! Elvis loved Priscilla and so do I :)
Great video Brian. i liked that extra flip in the Bolo balance test. ( Show the vid of your knife mod.)
+Bharley57 west I will try

If I ever had a situation I would want all three of these knife
;-)
Your number 3 is my number 1......love that Parang! ;-)
+Charles Larson it is a dandy
I really like the parang!
Cool
all 3 look great, would love to get a Priscilla! that parang though! love the black look and the sharp edge gleamed like a white stripe, reminded me of a Mephitidae.
Good luck!
Thanks for the chance! Sharing!
Thanks for the support!
Brian there is no fail it's just a learning experience
+kevin Schmith I am constantly learning ,-)
Survival On Purpose had you done a review on the Brush Demon? I love that thing. I certainly liked the Priscilla the best. nice video. keep up the good work too!
+Jeremy Redd never even heard of it
It's a kopis design beefy chopper from the company Outdoor Edge. I think you might like it. Somewhere around forty five bucks online. Check it out!
Sweet, i need a good corn machete for this Fall.
Good luck!
I would love the Schrade SCHMBS Priscilla Brush Sword - Machete!
You'll like it
Yes to the knife fail, after all we learn from our failures. I like that you show schrade products, they work. Any plans to review the old timer splinter?
+Mt. Baldwin soon. Very soon
I really like the priscilla, would love to try one out
You will be glad you did.
I’ve been debating on the parang and brush sword to put in my get home back which would you suggest

+Zio Azalin it will take some
Magic to fix that one
All I can say is awesome as always.
Thanks!
Thanks Brian. I have the Schrade SCMACH2 and I flat out love it. And no, you don't talk too much lol
Thanks. I appreciate it.
That SCH BOLO is a beast I like that one.
It really is

+Frank C if I have that i do I share it. Schrade rarely lists blade thickness.
You can get a dial caliper on Amazon for around $20. You could then give us blade thickness down to the thousands of an inch. Or even in micrometers!
so I've been looking for something to use as a chopper for ages now to pair with my Gerber strongarm and I just don't know what to go with. have you got any recommendations? also thank you for metric conversions.
+TheOperator any of these
I like the brush demon by wicked edge
SCH BOLO is the 1 on my list, great review
Thanks!

I am sure the steel isn't such a big deal, as long as you don't ask too much of it.
I am nowhere near a steel snob...

I like your Order of Blade's as well.
Thanks for watching.
I love them all but I think that I agree, Priscilla is the best
You have good taste
Awesome machete! Great video. I want one bad!
Yes you do
The parang, is the thang.....
+Redsorgum but Priscilla is a thrilla
Touché, well played, ha!

I'm working on it.
Nice chopper, and it's Schrade quality.
Yep
You are a Ramblin' Man!
I am indeed
personally like prisilla the best, but do like them ALL. would like any one of them.
I agree
always great videos
Thanks. I appreciate it.
I'm truly needing a machete. great information and I'm tossed between the bolo and parang.... what will I do what will I do lol
+MrSIXGUNZ oh the suspense
Get Priscilla. Don't be fooled by her looks... :)
Both.
ok thanks much!!
The other two are patterned after efficient, ancient Mid East swords.
Is it wrong to use the imperial measure, in the States or something? I don't get it.
Not at all, I just like teasing people about it because some people apparently have no sense of humor. Which just encourages me.
I just got my Life and was wondering what your top 3 ideas where for eagle projects
+Mark Crooks it depends on what need
There are in your area.
Always been a Schrade Bolo fan but the Priscilla is super bullseye....
Indeed.
I have the bolo. Love it
+bucth1992 it is good
I like the SCHMBSCP Priscilla the best.
Thanks for watching.
Excelent video !!
The bolo is my favorite.
Thanks for watching.
i would like to see the knife conversion video! :^)
+Native Knife Enthusiast I know you would. Stay tuned
Chuck Norris once caught the Loch Ness Monster but threw it back

I like these videos, but I don't like the immediate spoilers with the throwing montage.
+chones01 one mans spoilers are another man's teasers.
That's fair enough.
Great video.
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Nice little machete
Indeed.
Priscilla is a beauty! Kinda Book of Eli!
PS, it would really be best to measure by cubits, as God intended.
Or Tolkien
Good review
Thanks. I appreciate it.
those are some nice knives
Yes they are
I want them all !!!
;-)
Good info.
Thanks!

All righty then ;-)
Would like the Parang machete
Good luck!
Metric System Haters? You do attract interesting viewers. I really like Priscilla.
+Tom Olofsson not as in haters of the metric system but rather as haters of anyone who dares to make facetious remarks about the metric system. How dare I not take that subject seriously. Don't I realize that the US is only one of 3 countries who don't use the metric system?
I said it inelegantly but that is what I meant. That the lovers of the Metric system are your haters. The are still mad at King George, I guess.
Parang: Indonesian common knife. Very efficiently used by the Philippine Moros in the 1898 insurrection.

Let's see the "failed" video! It happens to all of us.
I'll try
Very nice and informative video 👍
And thank you, that you are using also grams and centimeters❗
That shows respect also to the people outside US.
Thumbs up 👍
Hey Brian, i would like to see the fail video, that i can learn from your mistakes. LOL
+Gregory M I will
都不錯!但第一把看起來太粗糙了!
Super awesome video and super awesome machete I truly need to win
Good luck!
Priscilla is my favorite.
Indeed.
Percilla is pretty!!
Yes she is
Failure is part of the learning process. Share the video. We can all learn from it.
+ttmac the I am constantly learning
Love machete.
So do I Louis.
I would love to see that fail video!!
Priscilla is the winner!
Good luck!
