This is my first Gigabyte laptop. I upgraded to this from a Asus TUF fx 505dt. I am very happy with this upgrade, the ports amazed me so much, you have all the ports that you need, the windows hello was a welcome feature, aswell as the MUX switch. Idk why on the listing it said the screen has 144 hz but i can actually set it do 360 hz. Compared to the Asus software, the Gigabyte software is a dream. No ads, no problems, no crashing, and works as intended. As for cooling i only use a simple stand, and that is all i need. The only downside compared to my previous laptop are the speakers. tbh they suck a lot on this gigabyte laptop. If you only use headphones and or a speaker that should not be a problem. Overall i say this laptop is still a solid buy today if you find it with a promotion for lower price.

Thank you!
Well I think in this case I would suggest the cheaper aorus. But it's a tough question. The 12700h will defenitely come in handy in the future... The Lenovo is a good laptop of course... But 300 extra is quite the money... You could put that aside for your next laptop upgrade/switch instead... I mean both options have their pros and cons. Though the legions WQHD will result in lower fps if you use the native resolution for sure.
I finally decided to go with the Lenovo. I saw it as an option that would last longer and I dont mean to spent a bit more if its going to last. The screen is also a plus for me because I am using it for coding and I dont mean to have less fps and the aorus also had a WQHD screen. Thanks@@Hubwood for your time and advice! 😁

@@gabrieliusaukstuolis9177 Hello. I've been using the laptop for about 2 weeks. Regarding battery life and fan operation, it all depends on your laptop setup. If I'm running on battery power, I have power saving mode turned on. And if you have the fan settings also standard or eco. Then when using the browser, the fans will turn on very rarely. I didn't track the battery life. But the battery capacity is very large (compared to competitors). This is a polymer battery, so it has its disadvantages. But the battery life in eco mode pleasantly surprised me. If you have any more questions, ask.

What a coincidence, I was looking at this exact model. Never had a Gigabyte laptop, figured to look into them and see if their laptops don't have the boom issues their PSUs had
Just want to say I love the detail and choices in areas to review. Considering the same specification and price - should I go with this Aorus 15 9KF or Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58?
Both i5-12500H, RTX 4060 and 32GB DDR5.
Aorus for me...
is there any difference between the gigabyte g5 with i5 12500h with rtx 4060 (75w) and aorus 15 with the (140w) rtx 4060 should i give 70 more euros for that more w
The Aorus is by FAR the much better Laptop overall! Absolutely worth 70€ Extra!
Hi, I just bought G5 GE intel i5-12500H + RTX 3050, is GE model better than G5 GD intel11400H + RTX 3050?
which of the video output connectors is connected directly to the video card?
Quick question: Aorus or Asus A15 with AMD Cpu and 4060? Price is the same.
I read about the booting time is more than 46 sec, is that true? Do you recommend uninstall Gigabyte software?
I do not recommended uninstalling it. You need it to properly use the laptop.
Props for mentioning GPU tdp problem! That what I looked for!
Hey, do you know what is used in this laptop: thermal paste or liquid metal?
Thermal paste
Is a problem in terms to avoid warranty if you open the laptop to upgrade the RAM? Sorry for my english
Depends on the country and laws.
I was looking for a review of this model the entire day yesterday before buying. Bought it today for 870 euros.
This exact model? Where fid you get it for 870??
@@Hubwood I think my comment got deleted cause I had put a link. But I got it on an official seller in Spain that also sells here in Portugal, and they delivered the day after. I have the exact same model as you have in the video plus the 360hz 100% sRGB version. I think that it was a great deal, because after just 1 day the price is already 1100 euros.

Does you have any voice problem after you add a 8G ram? like use youtube or mp3 files have a voice break?
and you just add a ram or you unplug your ram in aorus15 and put two another 8g ram to the laptop ? sorry,my English is not good
1. I just added another 8GB stick (different brand)
2. I did not have any of the problems that you mentioned
Asus tuf A15 (2023) r7 7735hs vs Gigabyte Aorus 15 9kf (i5 12500h), which is better?
Which Gpu? Same Gpu? I'd probably go for the aorus 15 in that case
@@Hubwoodsame gpu rtx 4060
8 gb preinstalled ram is outrageous for any 2023 gaming laptop
yes... yes it is. Though Ram is cheap right now and it's upgradable. But you're point remains valid.
Wonder if they did that to keep the price at a minimum expecting people to upgrade anyways...
If possible to replace the battery of this laptop
Hi, i think that this laptop is great but in my country they only sell the 144hz version wich is 45% ntsc ( aorus 15 9kf ). Is it possible to swap the screen with the 360hz version wich is 100% srgb? (Aorus 15 9sf ). I mean they are the same except the screen. Thanks
In general that should be possible but requires some technical skills swapping them. I personally didn't do that myself yet.
@@Hubwood Sorry to bother you again...i found this laptop for 650€ but i have to be sure that i can swap the display with the better one, otherwise the 45%ntsc would be really bad . It is possible then? the gigabyte support doesn't respond me. Thanks
@@Mark001real I don't know for sure. Sorry. as mentioned before, in generall such is possible, but requieres quite an amount of skill on that matter. You'd first have to find a fitting screen and some tutorials on how to do it. Otherwise I personally would NOT suggest doing it.
Ok thank you
Hubwood can u help me test the response time of this laptop because i am planning on buying one and i need a laptop that has less ghosting when lpaying games pls help me test the response time in ms
Sorry i dont have the test unit anymore.

Is it possible to do CPU UV or configure something for better sustained thermals during gaming sessions? (for example disable igpu or disable half of e-cores)
Not possible. You could deactivate turbo boost. Don't know about e cores 🤔
This or an HP Victus, both with a 4060 and i5 12500h?
Me personally would choose the Arous in that case.
@@Hubwood A reply by the man himself! didnt expect the reply haha. i loved your review and will be getting an Aorus instead. Definitely seems like worth the 200euro difference. You for sure earned a new subscriber here. Thanks!
Weird, my laptop lasts 4 hours on energy saving mode with 30% brightness...
Then something is causing the cpu or the GPU to be under load. Are you running msi afterburner?
@@Hubwood no, nothing. The only appa that work in the background are GeForce control panel and gigabyte control center
@@mateuszchrzanowski3699 you can install HWInfo and check the battery consumption in watt. You can also check if it's the cpu or the GPU that is using so much watt. Also: wifi or cable? How far is the wifi point. You can try to lower the screen refresh rate to 60hz also.
@Hubwood, nice video, thanks! Have you ever got hands on the BKF-Model? It comes with an i7 13700H and a QHD 165Hz screen for about 350€ extra. Do you think there is any major difference in cooling performance or battery run time?
I don't think it would make a big difference, no. Maybe a bit considering battery runtimes or cpu Temps hard to say, but I wouldn't expect it tbh.
@@Hubwood Thanks for your reply. It seems the i5/FHD@360Hz/4060 model is hard to beat when it comes to price-performance ratio. Wondering if the i7 makes a noticable impact at QHD gaming?
@@muoio_ cpu becomes LESS important at higher resolutions as the GPU becomes the bottleneck in that case.
Hi sir... How to replace the battery
how did you manage to undervolt ? when I tried it said it is disabled on this system
Only the GPU can be undervolted...
@@Hubwood are there any other ways to increase battery life ?
Appreciate your detailed explanation :)
Hi, I love your reviews!! I am considering this laptop right now because of you!
I am replacing an old laptop and I would like your advice. I am between these two laptops:
- Gigabyte AORUS 15 9KF-E3ES383SD Intel Core i5-12500H/8GB/512GB SSD/RTX 4060 Max Q/15.6" - 869€ (30€ because of RAM upgrade)
- Lenovo Legion 5 15IAH7H, 15.6" WQHD, i7-12700H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, GeForce RTX 3070 - 1197,52 € (no need to upgrade)
I am using it for coding and playing a bit in my free time and I dont know if its worth the around 300€ difference.
Enjoy your new laptop :)
r u using frame generation on these test? and what graphic setting are these games on? thx
Im showing the settings in the diagrams on the left. No. FG was off.
@Hubwood Hello!
I've just got right this one.
And now I'm curios on how exactly you succeed on GPU undervolting via Afterburner curve?
I've tried to choose 0.9-0.975V with max stable reference (for 1V) but it was also consuming 1V.
This is my first time of uv-experience.
Thanks in advance for any of your advices!
Try applying multiple times. Msi afterburner is often not working correctly on first tries.
I have a detailed video on GPU undervolting if you'd like to check that out!
@@Hubwood thanks, I'll try!
Hey, I'm just about to buy this laptop, could you please tell me how much does the battery last browsing web, doing easy tasks? And are the fan noise acceptable?
@@gabrieliusaukstuolis9177
Hello.
@@egorkostenko736 thanks for the answer, I really need a laptop for college, so I'm thinking of just getting a powerful laptop for everything, I had bought Lenovo loq 16 before, but the fan noise was just too loud and battery lasted not more than 3 hours browsing web with best battery saving settings, if you ever test how long does the battery last using daily tasks please let me know. (not playing games) I'd really appreciate it, this is the only laptop I found for 1300eur budget which has 4060 and big battery lol
thank you so mush i buy the same laptop and is vere good
Do you advise me to get 32gb RAM?
Yes :) can't go wrong with that!
Hey Hubwood i bought this one too for 1100$ i'm using for two days now when i play game its fan sound like jet engine a bit loud but the temperature is normal no slutter or any lag. I want to ask you some question.
1. Did you experience this too? Is it like you said in the video? and 2. Is this normal for aorus 15? PS.I don't feel so good hahaha but i really love this one
Is it the 2023 Modell? Which Performance profile are you using? What are your fan speed settings? Did you try the "balanced" combo as mentioned in the review?
@@Hubwood Yep the model is same as your and the performance i'm using both gaming and turbo mode. as for the fan speed it same as its performance but especially the turbo fan speed it was too loud. but i haven't tried out your combo yet. i will replied soon if i have some time. thank for the advice.
@@Hubwoodhey man i've been try using your combo it's a bit better now less loud i guess that normal for aorus 15 when using turbo fan and for the gaming mode fan it's better a lot.
@@Bon-f6l excactly. Usingf turbo ( Full speed mode) is too loud in 99% of the laptops out there ;)
Hello. After your review I bought this laptop. but for some reason in my tests it scores 10,000 points Cinebench. tell me how to configure it correctly in the Gigabyte program so that I also have 13k cinebench? And what the setting NVIDIA dynamic boost and MUX?
Plugged in? Make sure you're using performance mode. Sounds like balanced or silen/battery saving mode.
@@Hubwood yes of course, Performance Mode.
@@DIMACbKA check if there are bios updates available. I used the newest available version!
@@Hubwood After the purchase, I immediately updated the BIOS to the latest version. FB10.
Tell me, what Nvidia Dynamic Boost and Mux settings do you have in Gigabyte App? maybe this is the problem?
I also wanted to ask, do you also have a problem in that the RAM constantly changes frequency? when the laptop is just standing still, it resets. when games hit 4800
What a coincidence, I was looking at this exact model.
Never had a Gigabyte laptop, figured to look into them and see if their laptops don't have the boom issues their PSUs had
Just want to say I love the detail and choices in areas to review.
Informing people about the lack of RAM, how to upgrade it, what it actually does, as well as heat on the keyboard, the trackpad, undervolting and overclocking, the software and so on really matters.
I don't have any nit-picks, the only addition I'd like to see is a sound sample of the fans if you have a controlled sound environment
Hey, Tha KS for the kind feedback!
I don't have a Controlled sound environment yet. Thinking about getting a decibel measuring device though...
@@Hubwood I'd love to see that, if it's feasible and within budget.
I'll probably be jumping for this laptop, putting me out of the market for 3 years, but I'll definitely stick around for your comprehensive reviews!
Can this neon be turned off?
Yes ofc u can customize it on the rgb settings on gigabyte center
I'm very relieve and glad that i bought this exact version of the aorus for 880 eur, even without windows pre-installed i think this was an awesome deal.

The fan loudness, if you use headphone you would notice a little bit of that when you are using an heavy app or playing something a bit demanding
