- Hello guys,
After leaving the ferry at Kilchoan, we had nothing booked - so a trip to our first planned stop revealed it was closed - or was it!
Lochan Nan Al, on the remote Ardnamurcahn peninsula, became our ultimate park up spot so far on our travels - for us it seemed Utopia!

It was mate. JP did a vid on it so we wanted to get there and it was wonderful. Shame about a day of rain but it was really relaxing and loved watching the wildlife around there.

Good thing you two pulled up and met that lady who told you it was fine to use the place! Very sorry to hear the owner had passed away. It really is a great spot and fantastic views of the water. Loved the run to the honesty box and all the birds you saw, and that huge cruise ship!

Waking up to the view of the Sound was really special. And the area is so remote but still has that shop and coffee shack. It was brilliant there. I really hope that the site remains open as we would love to go back

Loved watching the Swallows and Sedge Warblers and Heron and Mergansers from the van.
So sad that he passed, but so nice that they are allowing for the honesty box so y’all could stay at this amazing spot. Good thing to get all stocked up. Of course, rain. 😂.
Yes we’re hoping that it’s still open next year as we loved it there and would like to return for longer.
We did get rain that day but overall we were so so lucky with the weather.

Hello Dave and Sue, what a beautiful view from your motorhome. That looked a great campsite especially with the little coffee and cake shop. Dave made me laugh with he didn't want to share the cake he he . Such a shame the owner had passed away though. Beautiful mountains around you. Shame the weather turned a little rainy but what views. This was an amazing place. So peaceful and so beautiful. We really hope it will stay open for camping as we would love to go back there. It’s quite remote but doesn’t feel like it with the little shop and coffee hut. Loved it there so much. The views from the van were just amazing! We’re hoping to go back again next year! Nice to see the countryside on your drive in. It doesn't look too populated. Nice getaway to a nice camp spot. Too bad about the owner. Wet weather puts a damper on things. Great views from your camper window though. Fun to see the wildlife. Glad you got out to explore some. Have a wonderful day.

Amazing spot Kev. Loved it there so much. Loved watching the wildlife even if it was sometimes from the van. Wished we could have stayed longer but we will definitely be back if it remains open.
I always love an honesty box such a civilised way to operate, just a shame there are so many people who are not civilised around today. Yes, cake for me too please :o) but what a great shop and so close too. It looked a bit chilly and rainy but what a place indeed and diesel on tap as well, the shop did look well stocked. Shame about the rain you got but good to see you did get some dry weather to fully appreciate those glorious views. Cheers ALan

Cakes and coffee before even getting to the site...you sure are living large! lol That is an amazing little location indeed! All kinds all around! Some pretty amazing views, peace and quiet, and awesome shore birds too! Yup, I'd be staying there for a couple nights for sure!

We only had two nights there and we nearly drove back again once we had left 😃. Will definitely go back next year if it’s still operating.

It’s just so stunning everywhere up there Phil. Wasn’t much looking forward to the third week when we went back to “civilisation” but we visited some stunning places there too!
Great that this campsite worked out for you after all ... too bad to hear that the owner passed away... hopefully his family will be able to keep it going. Cute set up all the way around and super location right by the bay!! It's great that you can get out exploring even in the poor weather and stay warm and dry in your Van/ Motorhome!! Dreadful shame about the owner - apparently his sister collects the cash each week at the moment - but don’t know if it will be operating by next year when we will definitely go back if it’s still open!

Isn’t it brilliant. Nightmare that you had to reverse off. I wouldn’t have been able to do it I don’t think. Calmac have quite a few operational problems - one guy who owns a campsite in Mull was saying that the big ferries used to come to Mull but they now have been redirected to the Outer Hebrides. And so he sees less people coming on to Mull
