I can draw stickmen 1v1 me
Same. 😂
@Plark, I can draw an undeveloped creature with interesting an unique features and qualities. Fite me.
Hi! I made my webtoon is called "Deep Sweet Romance" by zhamurai , It's BL :D .....please check it out :3
I've been planning my story for 2 years now, have +40 chapters written, most character concepts in mind, I bought a new laptop and a Wacom intous Pro and I'll start drawing it soon !!
Can't wait to publish my Webtoon and share it with the world!

Good luck! I'll try to read it asap!
webtoon creators: *drawing with tablets and pens and computers*
me: *draws with my phone and fingers bc i'm too broke*😭🤣
You can draw on paper and pencil and scan it to your computer with your phone haha. Then edit on your computer ;u;
I draw on my phone too but I use drawing tablet... With IbisPaint...
Same... annnd even worse. I downloaded gacha life just so I could try my hand (literally) at drawing... 😅
I thought I was the only one man. I feel ya so much.
Soo RELATABLE
I'm not a webtoon artist but I draw chibis and random pictures
Me: **wanting to be an artist**

Don't give up Augustus, check out "Miss Abbott and the Doctor" she doesn't use any fancy software =3
Medibang is available on PC too. It's worth a shot checking it out.
How to delete downloaded chapters in Mobile?
you don't need to be great in drawing to create a webtoon, what you need is a great story and the will to tell it, with the right tools you will get done, and I am not talking about pay or spend a lot of money, you can use a combination of free software that get the job done properly, you can see me as a cheater but I use blender+medibang and get the job done, I use 3d models and create my scenes in blender then I render it and import it into medibang and trace color and add the text dialogues, I am not great at drawing but I learn how to use the tools that helps me get it done
i only have ibispaint bec my ipad is full to the brim so rip us both ig 😭👍
now where do I buy talent ?
Lmao MOOD

Depends what kind?

Go ask Mr. Practice.
He will help
I'm actually impressed this is not just a shameless plug to their tools but is actually just them trying to genuinely help artists out.
Yeah. Also am using medibang annnnd it is amazing. I am also able to publish my own webtoon now. XD
@@allenmoyashides8395 what is it called
Thank you. That helped a lot. Since I'm planing on doing one as well,
I'll be your first liker :D
What's wanna be the name?
Whats it gonna be called?
I'll be your reader
What do you plan on calling it? I'll read it😁
*_taking notes to publish my stick man story_*
Edit: OMG GUYS, I DIDN'T EXPECT TO RECEIVE THIS ATTENTION 😭 I DON'T HAVE TABLET AND *_TALENT_* LMAO THANK YOU SO MUCH, I LOVE YOU ALL
U can do it🙌😂💜
I believe in you 👏😂
XD nice

Do you have it yet?
Me(Broke): *Sweats in FireAlpaca

Also Medibang, lol, same company
Laughs in free art programs
just get krita its free and better 👀
*screams in free art programs*
_chuckles in krita_
One day...I’m going to do a webtoon!
*laughs in procrastination*
Me too 💕
Me too...what is your story?
Yeah me to I’m just looking for a tablet recommendations but she doesn’t say a specific iPad she only said iPad Pro like bruh
XxDayaxX Me to i just need to wait for one of my children or grandchildren have the talent to draw 😔😌
Good plot : yes
Good characters : yes
Good planning : yes
Talent : maybe
Good Art and a budget : Big fat NO.

same, I also use the smartphone, ibis paint x, and draw it with a thumb 😂 (btw my phone is samsung j2😟)
Same but with a free iphone7 n my index finger (gives me more control and its wayyy thinner than mah fat thumb)

Welcome to another episode of how to live your life, for artists.
🤣😵
The hard work they do!!! Awww. Thank you sooo much! I love webtooooon! ❤️👍😉
Totally not here to plan B if architecture doesn't work out.
I.... feel you
Lmao good luck, I understand the pain of Architorture
I feel you 😂
lmao when i was 6 years old i thought i wanted to be an architect, well i see that i choose drawing
(here if design doesn't work tho)
I feel you deeply
Talented people : I have talent but I can't buy the equipment.
Rich people : I can buy the equipment but not talent.
Me : *I DON'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY ANY OF THEM !*
you don't need to buy any to succeed, you can get the job done with a potato computer and free software, the more important element of a comic is not the visuals is the story itself and the way you tell that story, if you have enough imagination to create a great story and you invest the time you will succed
Hard working people: all I have is copy paper and dollar store pens, but I'm gonna make it!
So you mean rich people can’t draw?🥴
I've always wanted to publish a webtoon but there is a lot for me to know😂 a lot... From scratch 😂💔
sameeeeeee
How do you think everyone started? Yeppers, from scratch!
Same
Same
I need to start wirh learning how to draw 😭😂
How do you determine the next webtoon to be featured and will there be any more competitions?
same question
Unknown As far as I know, there’s no public requirements to get a Webtoon featured but your art needs to look good (polished, decent-good anatomy, good understanding in perspectives), your story needs to be engaging (good plot, a hook for readers, if your series is a slice-of-life, it needs to have a good set-up and humor) and lastly, you need to have a decent update schedule.
I'm pretty sure that the most important factors are your story and update schedule. Art of course factors in, but you don't need to be absolutely amazing. There are some featured webtoons I see which doesn't really have the best art but it's decent and their story is really unique and interesting.
@@TigrisHorse
I'm pretty sure that they help improve your art/storyline. At least in the beginning. I've seen artist do a 180 when it gets featured.
@@rosl. Yeah, like Noblesse and Tower of Good, really look different in earlier episodes to mid
“Tool for webtoon creator”
first : you need TALENT
not really, what you need is a big imagination and a great story, because comics are about storytelling, I saw a lot of successful webtoon with very low artistic skills, but the story is funny or is interesting enough to make people want to keep reading it while other comics have great visuals but the story is not good enough and fail, I believe the more important element is the story, plus you don't need talent at all to illustrate a webtoon, I am not the best at drawing then I create my scenes in blender 3D and render them after it I import them to medibang and trace color and add text dialogues: I am not great at drawing but nowadays you can get free powerful tools to help solve it, what you can't is a great story without have a great imagination, that is the talent you need
@@blancostudio3d
I agree with you even though painting need a talent but you can learn it by practicing.
@@user-tx8un4is9l I agree but our goal isn’t to become a painter our goal is to tell a story by combining images and text, then intelligence isn’t a talent is something inherit of humans, for many of us painting is a high skill we can’t master quickly, become a good painter could be probably out of my limits in just one lifetime, but I can take advantage of what technology offers right now, I can use 3D models photo bashing and many other tools to tell my stories, programs like Clip Studio Paint are able to manage very well 3D models can even extract lineart from them the CSP AI colorization tool can be handy as well, instead of spend a lifetime becoming good at drawing and painting I can use 3D models extract lineart or trace and paint over use AI to colorize etc then I put upfront INTELLIGENCE over talent, what I mean you don’t need to be a talented painter anymore to create comics, as you said practice will help you to master any skill and hopefully in the future you need less and less use of 3D models and AI colorization assistance because you learn to draw and paint that for sure could be great but the time to acquire and master those skills will vary from person to person and for some of us will require an eternity to achieve
I’m making a WEBTOON called ‘Love is Love’! I’m just trying to tell a lot of people so when it comes out a good amount of people will read it. It is a romance, hence the title but I will try to work in some action to keep readers engaged. I am simply telling you all so you might give reading it a chance when it comes out.
Just Z okay tell me when you publish 😊
Hii it's been two years and the title kinda sounds Interesting ...so I was going to ask u if u did work on it or did u stopped?
When you draw on your phone with ibis paint...
I can relate 😂
Yeah
The problem im having starting a webtoons comic is how to work with the comic size and format
Definitely, since we're talking about a abortion, DON'T start drawing pieces individually. Make a canvas that's extremely long and start drawing on that. That's how your readers will be seeing the webtoon. After you have finished everything, save in JPG format AND cut the big long file in pieces, using photoshop or gimp as a free alternative. Each piece has to be smaller than 2 MB I believe. After you've done that, you are ready to post your work. Make sure to google the canvas width webtoon allows, I don't remember what it was.
If your computer/program can handle it, i reccomend drawing on a canvas twice the size webtoon allows, and extending the height as you work to see how your readers will read it. You can use a free site/extension called Croppy (search croppy webtoons in google) to slice and resize your comic for webtoons.
Edit: and its reccomended to work at at least 300 dpi
The canvas size I'm using is 800x1280 cause it said so and for tablet I'm using XP pen Artist twelve and clip studio paint for the arri but I'm having a issue on font size for the webtoon and font size on the speech bubbles and idk how to do panels in clip studio ;-;
I suggest you publish a webtoon first just for testing with sizes, panels, and things like that
This is really great. I use Clip Studio Paint for my comic, "God's Lost Mercy." And when I started off my comic it was originally on Manga Studio 5, but then as soon as I switched I was able to access to more options and tools that helped me to make a cleaner comic.
I'm SchornEE, creator of "let's cast off" on webtoon. I use Photoshop and a wacom bamboo to create my story. I really liked this video and hope to see more content like this in the future ♥️⛵
Hey webtoon! 💕 Can you make a video on how webtoon creators write their scripts?
isn't a single way to do it, from my own experience my advice is to start from the main idea, you write a summary of the story that don't surpass a page and you must to visualize the end of the story, because is the main point all go, everything is heading in that direction, then you have 3 ACTS beginning, middle and END, each one has characteristics, but they are simple, the beginning is your starting point, after a trigger your main character has something he/she must to do and with that you go through the marathon of the middle that is like 2/3 of the whole story until you reach the highest point where the story will finally get a resolution and an end: a couple of tips are to have clear the plot and written, you can also make a map of the story to can easily visualize how things go, can be helpful have character sheets and character descriptions, each character have their own motivations and those motivations rules their actions, try to have a couple of nice unexpected turns in the story, to cut the story in chapters try to finish each chapter in a point that people expect something to happen but they need to read the need chapter to know, at the end I only can tell you now WEBTOON is requiring our chapters to be not less than 40 panels for contract artist, because were a lot of stories that doesn't advance forward in the plot after many chapters, mostly those romance slice of life stories
I would love to be a Webtoon artist...
Step One:
Learn how to draw
😂😂😂oof😂😂😂
I start learn,
I get frustrated,
I cry,
I give up. My story.
I keep coming back to this everytime i feel lost with my own comic...currently rewprking my "Universal Love" comic ;---; thank you for amazing info
Im not interested in college. And am thinking of focusing on improving my art. So once I do that, I want to save up money to purchase webtoon tools I need to make some good ones. Please stay with me. I have really nice storylines already! ❤
Nowadays the college diploma only helps you to get a job in a big studio but doesn't mean you can not get the same job without a diploma, for big studios the more important is your skills and the offer you a job based on your experience and portfolio, my advice is to write those stories because the more important element in a comic is the story, then try to get at less a potato computer, invest time learning free software the 2 I recommend you are BLENDER 3D+MEDIBANG both free software, how I work is very simple after around a year investing my free time in both software I become a 3d modeler, then I create my scenes in blender, I render it, import it to medibang and do the inking coloring and add text dialogues. now I can afford it I have a pen display tablet but I started with a second-hand Wacom Intuos I buy for $20 in a thrift store, now I am learning 2d and 3d animation because I already succeed as comic artist and my dream now is to animate my story, but the more important you need to understand is you need to start or you will never finish
You should note that Medibang also has a cloud saving feature which is REALLY useful.
Me and my friend use the ability to share cloud files on medibang to create our webcomic “Parallel Passings”.
I do characters and she does backgrounds, while we both do the drafts. Having this built in feature really saves a lot of time from sending files and etc.
I love your webtoon!
when you’re early but don’t have anything good to comment:
Edit: omg i’ve never gotten this many likes in my life thank u all
So true tho
getting lots of like on UA-cam is like getting top comment on webtoon
YES! Thank you so much! Webtoon is awesome and now I know how you guys create such pieces of art❤
Thanks for this video! I had already published my webtoon but was feeling that something was missing. Now the art has got better!
I've always had questions in terms of programs and hardware so this really helps.
Im currently creating a story which I've been doing for 4 months now. Im so committed and every page takes me about 4 hours since my "anime style" is pretty realistic. Im so scared no one will like the story but, i have hopes. its really unique
Exactly what I was hoping to find: a great tutorial on what is available, how it is used, and references to tutorials on each option. I am strictly a penciler, but I have purchased old Macs and Creative Suites for them, drawing tablets, scanners, and the like, but I don't know how to use them.
Watching this video makes me feel like I can get there, despite the intimidation of the unknown. Thank you for the awesome (and inspiring) video!
Thank you for these as i was really trying to figure out which softwares to use as I'm planning out and presently just traditionally drawing the panels of the story i wish to soon put out on webtoon
Now-- what if i can't draw at all?
But still want to draw 😭😂😂

Hi everyone, thank you so much for making these tips and tools videos. I started my comic "BIG TINY LIFE" on webtoon/Discover about 4 months ago. I use a wacom intuos tablet and Painter 2019 software. I also use a free online software- Canva to re-format the comic for Instagram. Thanks again...can't wait for more videos.!
Me: works 5 hours a day to publish my WEBTOON.
Also me: *draws stickmans*

When you can't afford any of these but still watch these videos hoping you could.
Great video. Just getting into creating comics but had no idea where or how to get my drawings to digital . Thanks for pointing me in a direction!
4:41 me without internet...
*cries in Ibispaint*
I use Clip Studio for most of my projects now, but I highly recommend Autodesk Sketchbook. Both the desktop and mobile apps are free and very easy to use. I actually prefer using it over CSP for one of my webtoons because of the guide tools and the Copic color library.
R.I.P. to the copic library is Sketchbook. It's not in the latest updates. :(
Putting the key tip in the middle made my day and put me at ease
This is the mosttt straight to the point video I’ve ever watched.
Hey, Video Production was really boosted up for this episode. Keep it up! Thanks for all the tips, they really help us new creators.
3:35 actually if after you resize the object and klik enter the pixel will gone (Photoshop)
You could also lock the resolution
or make it a smart object (?)
You did the lav mic! Oh the sound is GOOOOOD!
Thanks so much for this breakdown. I have to take notes since I'm planning to jump into this!
Stops reading webtoons to watch this....
Thanks this was helpful!! 👍
Thank you so much! Your videos are really helpful :) I‘m still working on my romance/drama webtoon but I‘m kinda scared to post it online since I‘m new to digital art lol.
This is so helpful, I am glad this exists
I really want to do one! I'm just not a really good drawer. Maybe someday I can make a comic!
Really love this.
The tablet: realme C2
The stylus: a pen with rubber edge
The software: ibispaint X
The panels: just 5 of them per page (pixels max 😭)
The drawer: a student
The talent: the hand
Welcome to my simple, happy, yet cheap life 😀
Omg seym 🙂

Same but phone is itel s41 u know I am broke af though the stylus is not that one too hahaha
That’s actually a great way to start tbh
Hello to you pal! We have the same life 😀
Omg this is the video I’ve been searching for
going to start one very soon so this was really helpful! thank you!
These are awesome tips! I used to use MedibangPaint Pro and it’s really simple software for beginners. Huion is also a good alternative for hardware if you can’t afford Wacom. I am using Huion H640P Inspiroy, and it’s really good! I hope we will get another Webtoon contest soon! It doesn’t matter if it’s involve money. As long as creators will get a chance to be discovered and featured. Haha. To my dear discover creators, Let’s work hard! 🤗💪

I want to do a comic but I don’t don’t have anything that I could draw digitally on😭
Thanks a lot jin.., I was really looking forward to make my own comic, btw love your guide.
Thank you! This is a big help!!
Another suggestion for apple/android is ibisPaint.
I use it and find it allot better than medibang paint. It’s also free
y'all I'm ready,I already have a wacom tablet and I use MediBang Paint Pro ASKFSKSKKSK
*Thank you! I’ve been wanting to do a comic, this really helped!*
Thank you for creating this video !! It was informative and helpful, especially on just getting on an idea on WHERE to start ! :)
Theres also paint tool sai but it's a program created for illustrations so you would need to draw the panels on your own,
but besides that its a good program :D
I recommend the Samsung S3 or S4 tabs for those who use android like me!
I use a Samsung Galaxy book!
what app do you use?
I just discovered Webtoon and I am amazed by the opportunity of publishing independet comics. I can't wait to have a place where I can share some stories
Ohhhh whoaaaa this is awesome! I've been trying to craft this story and I think I finally got the overarching plot enough for me now to focus on awesome subplots. It's about this.. well, I'm going to release the first episode soon 😂 it will be soonnn
My setup is CSP with a samsung notebook 9 pro and staedtler stylus . . . kinda odd but works well for me and its easy to travel with it. I also have a second monitor and a mug warmer (very important).
No Gimp or Inkscape? These are full-featured free, open-source alternatives to Photoshop and Illustrator respectively.
absolutely agreed with you, is kryta and medibang as well, I use clip studio paint but before I used kryta and medibang and being honest use photoshop for comic creation is extremely awful, I used in a studio I was working for and is the worst software I ever used for draw comics
Wow! This video is gonna help me real good!! Im plannin to make my own webcomic, thanks for this!!
I got an iPad and apple pencil for my birthday. I'm excited to start and try drawing a webtoon on it. (I have concept in mind already)
I'm more of a traditional artist, but I really want to get better at digital
I use Ibis paint for Mobile. The app has a built-in driver to connect drawing tablets and activate pressure sensitivity
I'm third as long as I don't reload the page
I use Procreate on my iPad pro with the Apple Pencil. I also do A LOT traditionally and I have a scanner. I'm so excited to eventually publish my comic on Webtoon and I hope people will like it aaaahhhh!!
Man this is so helpful I wish I had watched this b4 I uploaded my first ep xD tysm~
I use procreate for my webtoons but when I post it, it is super blurry and i have it at high resolution so I dont know, HELP😂
This is so helpful I’m thinking about starting a WEBTOON and this is really going to help
Moore Annoying Orange oooo please come back and share the name!! I wanna see!

Hey! I have a question- can i post/draw a WEBTOON only using my iPad (with Procreate for drawing)?
Dam people sub and say Damn so fast thanks WEBTOON I really needed to know
I learned LOTS 😍 THANK YOU!!
Hi its my first comment on this channel, but i have to say this is fricking awesome and cool!!👍👍
I use ibisPaint X on an android tablet, I'm too poor to afford anything else.
I’m scared to start because I feel like my friends will judge me, I have a story, five complete episodes and the software but I’m just worried
Update (even though nobody cares) I started my WEBTOON it is called cursed wings and I am at 13 subscribers
Don't tell your friends or families if you are afraid then,at least until you get big enough on Webtoon and started to have income flowing in.
let them judge you, and don't care of their judgment at all, because I am a very old man and can tell you NONE of them will be part of your life in a decade and NONE of them will feed you, you need to find your own ways in life for yourself and for your family, and the cruel truth is: IS ONLY ONE PERSON YOU CAN BE CERTAIN WILL BE WITH YOU IF YOU ARE STILL ALIVE IN A DECADE AND THAT ONE IS YOU, then the only important is YOU and what you want to do with your life, NONE can live your life for you and life is always changing you get to succeed as you fail, but the more important Is to know and understand if you do nothing you already failed and if you do and fail you just need to stand up and keep going
Don’t worry about them! I had the same fear, of being judged by my friends and especially family, but I’m doing it anyway. I’m really glad I am! If they dont like it, tell them just not to read it then. If webtoon is a chapter in your life your passionate about doing, than go for it!!!! Worst case scenario, you get some bad opinions and a whole lot of new artistic experience!
@@user-bx1ku6ls9o HELL YEAH!!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! I’m going to read it!!
Webtoon laying it all out there huh. From publishing to this. Wow. Makes me want to draw and create again. Thanks!

Dang this channel is so helpful!!
I use ibispaint on my android phone with a homemade touchscreen pen...The one that uses tin foil and Q-tip....Yeah
Im fine
You are not alone
don't give up I did the same I year ago and today I have an ipad Air 4 and apple pencil second generation if you really like drawing save and invest it's worth it.
I have a huion kamvas pro 12 and since I'm still beginning, I use free drawing softwares like Krita
It is good?? I've been using Krita too but I draw with mouse on Windows... im planning on buying Huion too.. But some says Krita crash a lot on Windows.. is it? Is it bcuz it connected to the drawing tablet??
I've been working on my comic for 3 years now and am going to launch it on webtoon soon. I've never used Huion or had the pleasure of owning a cintiq(hope to own one one day🐱) but my tablet is an XP-Pen 22 e pro artist screen tablet. I've been using XP-Pen products for years as a budget option. It works well and hasn't steared me wrong.
Bless your soul! Finally something useful

How do you y’all determine what comics’ll be featured? What are the requirements?
Dipsticks Had a life. Art.
Pretty sure it’s eaither voted on, read by a pretty important person in the company and determined or some sort of competition I’m not sure but I do remember from last year a lot were moved up from an app other then webtoon I forgot what it was called I think “discover”? And if they get featured there voted/read or compete and pass they go on to become featured on webtoon, I think discover is another branch of webtoon, I AM NOT 109% of all of this it’s what I THINK based on my experience of seeing new creators move in others move and ya.
Margaret K , how the heck do they get in contact with the creators though, i just always wondered
@@koro-sensei7884 Email account
in discover what you need is to upload regularly to be in the top of the search page of your comic genre that's the importance to set the right genre and a secondary genre and do it seriously because will determine how much exposure and success you will gain, are genres with less competition than others, webtoon is invaded by foolish naive romance slice of life stories because the platform is used by millions of young ladies that likes that kind of stories, then if you go for action or sci-fi you will have less competition but also less user interested on your story, but pretending you did all well and reach a good amount of followers then WEBTOON will offer you a contract, each contract is personalized and one of the clauses absolutely banned you to share the information of how much you are getting paid, you need to sit down read carefully the contract and make a decision, my advice don't try to get greedy, when they give you an offer you are not the only one in the scope, with my GF we both get an offer at same time, she in romance genre I got it in ACTION/SCI FI she asked for more money while I just took it, they said no to her and when she tried to accept their first offer they said they were not interested in her story anymore, they base their offers for what I saw in 2 main aspects where you come from and story genre, a romance story from n American artist will become expensive for them then they will take other artists story unless that particular story got a lot of followers, while in my case I got because at those time wasn't enough stories in action genre then they need to fill, but after I finished my contract I didn't get a new contract and is because they don't need me anymore, is how it is, is just business
I already started my own comic called Clown's Joke and honestly the community is best great so far in this website, thank you webtoons for creating such a great place to post comics!
