@@neighborhooddoc732 Not really... I lost a giant 8 pointer at 8 yards this year. I hit him good and had blood with air bubbles. I think the speed actually hurts sometimes. Based on my hit, I question if the mechanical heads opened . I use heads rated for over 400 fps but these bows are so fast, i think it hurts you when you are really close. I never had this issue with my Barnett. Ghost 410!
@@Rcol4427 thanks for the insight!! My ego says “get the 505” obviously because of the speed! My rational mind says, anything beyond my current crossbow @340 fps is an improvement! The de-cocking is the deciding factor really! Sorry to hear about the loss buck!
I have the nitro 505 and the Nitro XRT. What mechanicals do you use with the 505? I’m looking for some options beside the ten point broadheads.

The Sevr 150 grain Robusto and SWAT 175 chisel point are both excellent crossbow broadheads IMO. The SWAT has 4 blades and 3.75 inches of cut.
Notice a big difference in speed and energy transfer between shooting 505fps vs 470fps?
