TheMrProtocol no that wouldn’t work as there be too many no diatonic tones to deal with. The reason going a minor 3rd below works is because that the relative minor key and that blues scale already has mostly diatonic tones.
Going a minor 3rd above takes you a lot further from the key.

I'm a classical pianist and piano teacher since 1980s. (mom was a pianist and teacher too). When I was in HS I "didn't win" a concerto competition (Lord forbid) and quit piano. That year my mom bought me some Andre Crouch albums and stuff so I could just have fun. I memorized some licks and tried to play other styles. (I'm not a real jazz pianist or anything). I ended up starting back with classical study and majoring in music and all but never forgot that year "off". And your videos help bridge these 2 worlds. I just love it so much! You can not only play but are an awesome teacher.
And as usual, I'll always like even before I watch

Rock'n'roll is more of a Boogie-Woogie piano style instead of a Ragtime (which this peace is).
Ragtime was more incorporated into Jazz, the Rock of Pop.

Thanks for yours lessons dear...For me the biggest problem of all of us is that we know too Much things but cant Apply it because we cant play fast easly and whith coordinations... i think if UA-cam pianists can put More accent on it ,They will get more students and we beginners will be happy and so excited to buy your courses .i m french so i cant explain all my ideas but this is few...God bless
You mentioned and important work here, “beginners.” As a beginner you’re jumping ahead - there’s much to get through before you’re able to play like this at that speed. If want to work your way up the ladder and not skip our stages. Once of the most important categories you should be working on before you can play like this, is your technique. Can’t play fast and with rhythmic coordination without technique.
