- In this Film Companion interview, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is at his candid best as he talks to Anupama Chopra about helping Alia Bhatt 'discover her full potential,' why he waited 17 years to finally cast her and ushering in a new phase in his filmography with Gangubai Kathiawadi. Bhansali also breaks down some of the most crucial scenes from the film and lets us into the process of shooting them.

We want Sanjay Leela Bhansali to give real rooted Indian cinema. Much about women who were exploited by society is glamorised by him. He is such an amazing director, music director & multifaceted intelligent, he can still deliver exceptional pieces which we are proud of.👏💐
Heeramandi is a delight to watch
I am transported to a different world and i laugh and cry with them
Manisha Koirala is brilliant and fabulous in HeeraMandi. Sonakshi and the rest of the cast is just perfect only slight let down is Alamzeb.
Alam is pathetic
@@MohdsaifAli-d8hshe wasn’t so bad she was average compared to her costars regardless it was her first film
Slight ,she is so bad stone face no expression her character was written so brilliantly to perform so much but all she has to offer is teary eyes and fillers on her face make it worse
@@mazharakhter3588it’s not her first. She was in Malaal
He's staying true to his vision.
I liked Hiramandi a lot,
Manisha was good. But need to understand where does it comes from of its derivative. Be it Manisha or Sreedevi or Rekha or Meena Kumar’s, they all depict a probably a trauma of real life (if am correct) or loads dark sides of life.
unlike Shabana Azmi, Madhuri Dixit, Aliya Bhatt or Waheeda Rehman - these actress have kept a shield or guards by restricting to host such traumatic experiences. So these actresses are so guarded that roles shouldn’t affect their personality and they remain as strong and still they look graceful and elegant .
Ranking performance Manish koirala, Adhyayan Suman, sehgal Shekhar Suman, Taha Shah.
Such great words….but all lost with nose issues 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
What you did to Iqbal in heeramandi was just unfair, he deserved Saima
