    Hello! Can this be used for sculpting, especially for detailed features?

    • @MakerHighSchool
      @MakerHighSchool  3 роки тому +3

      It can, but you have to use a hot knife if you want small details.

    This does not just cost pennies to make. Instamorph is $30+ per 1kg/1000g (and that's if your lucky to find it that cheap). Even if the icicle only took 50g of Instamorph to make, it still costs $1.50 in material. I'm sure there's a cheaper place to find pre-made holiday decorations (a box of candy canes can be bought at the dollar store for $1).
    I'm not refuting the usefulness of Instamorph, I just don't think its utility can be advertised as being cost effective in this scenario.

      I made the video to show a basic intro of how to use it. You can reuse it over and over. I STILL have the container I bought 8 years ago, and it's almost totally full. I keep re-using the same pieces over and over again. :)

      Sure! You just need to make sure no one leaves it in a hot car. 👍

    Is there a moldable product like this that stays clear?

      Yes, there is. I just added a couple of links to the description that you can take a look at. Don't feel like you have to buy from the links I shared. 👍

    Hi, can this be used in a mold?

    • @MakerHighSchool
      @MakerHighSchool  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, but it needs to be heat safe like silicone. It needs to be really hot, and you need to work quickly.

    is this not the same as hot glue?

    • @MakerHighSchool
      @MakerHighSchool  6 років тому +1

      It's totally not. They both are plastic polymers, but this is closer to 3d printer filament than hot glue. 👍

    Also known as polycaprolactone, which I only learnt the other day. For some reason none of the sellers I've come across want to tell you that! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycaprolactone

    Can it make a key

    • @MakerHighSchool
      @MakerHighSchool  Рік тому

      Maybe? If you're trying to make a prop, then yes. If you're trying to make a working key, I'd be worried about it breaking off in the lock.

    • @MakerHighSchool
      @MakerHighSchool  Рік тому

      @@kingdevine7374 I'd try it on something unimportant first, like a lock you buy at the dollar store. Then if it doesn't work, no big loss. Please don't use it to steal a car or break into someone's house! Lol. I don't want to be an accessory to a crime. If the authorities come read this, it's just info for personal use!

      I haven't left. I still come back every few days to answer comments. I'm currently working on more videos, but I don't really make any money from my channel. I do it because I love making stuff and helping other people to, too. Also, deleted your other comment not because I don't appreciate it. Trust me, done that to my finger, too. Just because of the swearing, because there are kids here. Hope you feel better!
