Hey there! When I connect this mic to my iPhone 14, it is crackling and cuts out period. Any ideas? When I connect it to my computer, I don’t have any of the same problems. I do use the lightning cable to the phone and mic of course
Thank you for this vid! It helped my coworker and I troubleshoot a mobile recording rig for our non-audio guy doing remote spots on contract with us. Mic is a great value and will automatically make the sound quality of your recordings better (with good mic technique lol).
I’ve gotten adapters and connected it to my iPhone and my iPad and no matter what I do. They are not connecting I don’t know what the issue is. Please help 😩
Hi Walter, thank you for the video. Question about sound quality. I hooked up my iphone to the Comica AD3 and connected two Samson q2u mics to it. I use this setup for podcast. But the recorded sound is poor, and my editor friends don't know what's wrong. they tell me that the recorded sound is almost as if the 'noise reduction' is turn on too high. Have you experienced this before? any suggestions wound be helpful thank you.
Honestly that just comes from Mic technique and using the mic for so long. I know my voice so I’ve learned how to talk across the mic instead of directly in it
Great question. No, you won't be able to edit the video inside of that app. If you're a mobile editor, I recommend Capcut, which is free, unless you decide to use some pro features. And then you also have Canva, which you can take advantage of their video editor, as well.
@@waltjennette one more question, I did get the Comica AD3 interface for the two mics, and two u2q mics. Now wouldny all i need to do is plug the mics into the interface then have a single iphone adapter from the interface to the iphone to use the mics? because what you did was plug in a usb and a iphone into a "double" iphone adapter.
@@realelijahfrederick Correct. So you would connect the 2 XLR mics to the Comica and set it where you want. And then you would connect the comica to the iPhone via the lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter
Love the fact that you make videos based on the questions you get, I have a challenging one for you lol I'm currently using the Rodecaster Pro 2 with a two PC setup. Gaming on a Windows PC and sending the image over to ecamm on a M2 MacBook Pro using the Elgato HD60 X, it's pretty easy to capture the audio from the roadcaster using USB 1 on the Windows PC but this is where my question is, I also record music on my MacBook using an Apogee Symphony interface into protools. what is the best way to use the Apogee Symphony interface as my main audio source on the MacBook pro and at the same time feed that audio into the Rodecaster so that the stream can hear the music session as I hear it. Or maybe there's a way to use both interfaces at the same time, idk Note I tried headphone out of the Apogee interface into a line in on the Rodecaster but it wasn't that great because it introduced a lot of noise, how would you attack this ?
I bought the Samson q2u and a comica link flex so we could connect 2 of them. However the light on the mics dose not come on and my phone is mic is still picking up the audio. Has anyone had this problem?
Ok so I’ve done everything but the mic is still not coming on when I connect it to my iPhone, but when I connect it to my gaming pc the mic does work, I don’t k know why it doesn’t turn on with my phone. Please any help would be appreciated.
First! Do I win?
Lol. You never know!!!
Thank you so much, it works - perfect! Best Regards from germany
Glad it helped
hey where are your headphones plugged into?

If you have android is the a "Rode capture app" equivalent?
have you tried the xlr hookup?

Great video. How do you eliminate the plosive sounds? I notice that you have the mic right up close but I don’t hear harsh plosives.

Love the Q2U!
It's still a favorite!
my samson won't turn on with the XLR connection but works with the usb connection. please help?
Fantastic content as usual ... The Iphone + Rode Capture + Samson Q2U = Game Changer
Absolutely! I didn't realize how long it's been since I actually recorded a video for UA-cam with the Q2U.
Hey
I'm trying your method with Samson Q9X but getting low input sound to my iPhone, do you know a solution for it?
In the actual recording? Are you able to see it in the Rode Capture app like I mentioned and change the gain?
this one or the atr2100x ?
atr is cheaper
Thank you my friend Greetings to you from Saudi Arabia ❤🫵
How can I connect my iPhone 15 with this microphone?
You need a USB Mini to USB C cable like this one. amzn.to/4b7OoDP
@@waltjennette omg thank you!!!
You're welcome@@latemplanza3469
Bought it! Ty.
So to be clear I get that app and I can record the footage for my videos and the sound . If I need to edit the video , can that app do that also ?

Miss your videos!
We're back! And I've put things in place to be back for good this time!
can you connect two of them ???
Unfortunately, not with this method. You CAN connect 2 to a dual preamp/interface & connect that to the phone. Check out the amzn.to/3I9850H

Experiencing the exact same problem, still haven't found a solution sadly
I need the usb 2.0 cable to ?
In order to connect it, yes. It comes with the Mic, though.
What about live streaming on streamyard
yes, you can use this for streaming on Streamyard
I found you can’t connect it to streamyard through a iOS device
@@waltjennetteI found you can’t however connect it to streamyard through an iOS device
I wish I could 2 of the Samson mics into my phone to conduct interviews!!
Yeah, that's the only downside. What would your interview setup be like?
@@waltjennette It would be one on one interviews with people. I usually record interviews on my phone

You can’t LIVE stream on Steam yard through phone
What about connection to iPhone 15 with USB c?
Yes that was my question! Did you figure something out?
@@latemplanza3469 I bought a different usb c mic but I guess this will work just as well
