Well, your Etsy shop sections can make a big difference between a shopper staying in your shop - and browsing through multiple product listings - or clicking off your shop and onto another seller’s after the first listing.
So... how do you strategically use Etsy shop sections to keep buyers in your shop? That's what this video is about.

I am a soapmaker, but most of my customers come to my shop looking for Lip Balm, then lotion, then scrubs, then soap- so I tend to organise my shop with the categories in that order. :-)
I didn't realize how important these were! I just went in and changed everything that I could and what I didn't have a label for, I just did T-Shirt, Mugs & Tumblers, Sweatshirts & Hoodies for selections. Thank you for pointing this out!

So, I'm getting ready to start. I recently inherited vintage us postage stamps, early 1900's through 1966, the year of my Grandfather's death. I got this video after using the youtube from ETSY training.
This physical beauty, with my favorite hair do, is the first of her kind to get me to pay attention to the presentation as she is a natural capitalist, intellectually exciting. That more than anything is most important here.
Our Lord's blessing is all over her!
Can you comment on a question pretty lady? I look up my first stamp and the range available was between 40 and 500 dollars, for the same thing. Are they just looking for homerun from the crazed auction buyer.
How can I get a real market price? Does Etsy have finished listings that you see exactly what something was sold for, the accuracy of heindsight?
I had a problem, getting started with ETSY but pushed through, ancient computer skills and poor vision. Now I have another problem. I will have to watch every single video this lovely lady presents. Not for her looks but for her brain. (did I just write that?)

This is a good video. Can you do a video on how to actually move your etsy store items into different sections?
That's easy to do. Go into your listings on the right side under your listings, there will be Selections, click on manage to add your sections you want to create. Then go to your listings and click the check mark to what matches say Mama and after you select them on the 1st page, go to the top click on edit options, scroll down to change sections, select the section you want and click apply. Hope this helps.

Great video (as usual!) What are your thoughts on duplicating listings that may fit into more than one shop section? Is it worth it or does it make the shop look “messy” if buyers aren’t shopping by section?
Good question, Amy! I would think of it from your Ideal Customer's point-of-view. If you were walking into a store, would you find it more helpful or confusing for the same item to be in multiple sections? Again, all depends on who your target buyer is. Hope this helps! - L
Great video, I just adjusted my sections, but when I click on a listing to check, the "view more from this shop" section still shows random listings from the shop, not the listings that share the same section. Am I missing something in order to update this?

I have my store organized in sections/categories on the left. However when I view as a customer one of my products and look at the bottom for MORE products from this store, it shows me items that are not from the same category as the item I'm viewing. It's totally random. Any idea on why? Thanks!
for something like fathers day or mother's day would you suggest me to create a section just for those with a bunch of different products about mothers day and father's day in those sections or would you suggest me to just put the different items in different sections, like say wallets have a bunch of different wallets for men and women in one section labeled wallets
The sad thing is that Etsy only lets you have 20 different shop sections and no sub-sections. This isn't conducive to shops that sell multiple types of gifts etc. Their shop sections are only perfect for shops that only sell one item catagory like jewelry or apparel etc.
Thanks for the great video. I updated my shop and added categories. The only problem im having is when I select a shirt to look at in my shop that is in lets say "animal categorie" it does'nt show shirts from the same catagorie when i go to the bottom of the page to the see "more from this shop". It will just be my new shirts ive listed not the shirts from the same catagorie. I have about 15 shirts in the same "animal" categorie but it wont bring up any of those shirts. Can you help. Thank you

Amazing, very enlightening. Hi deb I want to ask. I have a problem when creating a new list of items, and want to create a new grouping in SectionOptional, but it can't be added anymore, because I have created too many groupings, is there a solution?? Is it possible to reset it in the SectionOptional section, so that I can start regrouping from scratch? Thank you

Hello maam. I Need help.
I had opened my etsy shop 3 years before in 2019. But I didn’t take it seriously one or two listing was there for some time with no order.then I deactivated all the listings and my shop was like in sleep mode for 3 years. Now I have planing for reopen and run my shop seriously so I have listed 20 products. I just wanted to know is it good for me to open a new shop or shall I continue that same old shop. is there any problum in etsy algorithm or Seo to run old shop or I will get benefits to open a new shop.please help

Nice video thank you for this! I sale silk wedding Flower packages and have my items in my shop by color. Would you suggest me changing the shop sections for better optimization to the following? For example Bridal Bouquets - Bridesmaid bouquets - Corsages - Boutonnieres - Instead of by color?

Really nice advice, but my question has not been answered. My question is what is the best way to organize one's shop sections, if they sell various niches AND various products like i do. Should the sections be divided into product type, or niche? I tried to think as a buyer like you said, but again, i was 50-50. Would i want to see more T-Shirts from this seller, or more phone cases? Or maybe would i want to see more gaming niche products from this seller, or more pets niche products? I really can't figure out the best solution for this and if you could at least answer my comment, it would help a lot. Thank you

Merci for this tutorial on shop sections. May I ask whether it is better to 'lump together' all my turquoise jewellery pieces under one section called 'turquoise jewellery', or separate them under 'rings', 'earrings' 'bracelets', etc? Many thanks x
Thanks for the comment, Sharlee! Best to think about how your Ideal Customer would like to shop. For example, are they jewellery afficionados who collect all sorts of pieces? Or do they only come in for special occasion pieces? Thinking from that point of view would probably help :) - L

@@sweetbeep I left them as is; 'Moldavite Jewellery', 'Garnet Jewellery', 'Pearl Jewellery', etc.
If I make different sizes of, basically, the same thing, then my sections should be sizes?
Depends on what options/variations you offer in your product listings! You have to put yourself in your Ideal Customer's shoes and think about what would make the most sense for their shopping experience. Think about how they would like to see your products organized at a craft fair booth or a boutique :) hope this helps! - L
