In our case, our 7788 store (Rexville Towne Center, 1.5mi. from my home) is STILL OPEN M-S 0800-1730, even on the lockout, only being able to sell like 70% of their left inventory (most of what they can´t sell is on the WOMEN CLOTHING section). Be safe out there! PS: Because his main business is as a HEDGE FUND OWNER (investing in distressed companies to make a SERIOUS PROFIT out of them) we call them over here VUITRES or VULTURES...

Today I added 2 Kmart employee t-shirts, 5 "I ❤ K", 5 Kmart gift cards (no value) , a unused water bottle with Kmart on it and a Kmart price gun w/Kmart printed on it with a price tag for $5 dollars on it (ink roller needs to be replaced). Another Kmart bites the dust! Great video as always, makes me sad to see them sharted and empty like that. Hopefully someone will move into it.

I just drove by #3243 this evening. It looks so lonely and depressing. The blue part behind that wall is the former Kmart Cafe. The city of North Canton is in the process borrowing money to buy the property. One of the Kmarts that closed near me has been turned into a discount store. It's doing more business now than it ever did as a Kmart. And that goose was okay. It was on a nest, protecting her babies. Goose feathers repel water, insulate, and have quills. I'm sure that goose was quite comfortable despite the rain. But you were sweet for being concerned and wise to keep your distance. And as of early May, there were only 34 Kmarts left. The one in McAllen closed in April. And the nicest one I've ever had the pleasure to shop in was in Alamogordo, New Mexico. That closed three years ago. It was primo.

Wow, this looks so much like the K-Mart we used to have close to us, which opened in 1980. It used to have an auto service area on the far right side of the building, though, which sat empty and abandoned for years until the store itself closed in 2014. Now we don't have any K-Marts near us, at all, which totally sucks. I miss K-Mart so much! It felt like I was time traveling back to the 80's and early 90's whenever I went there. I hate it when stores that have been in business for decades have to close. :( Btw, it's probably a good idea you didn't get too close to that goose, lol.
Eight Months later, I only have one Kmart in my time zone, that it by itself is like a 12 to 14 hour drive one way! It's really unfortunate how hard it is to visit a Kmart or Sears these days, isn't it!?

Unfortunately, this Kmart as well as Marietta and Tallmadge were the last three stores to close in the state. There is still one in Michigan to my understanding that is still open. Otherwise the nearest open ones I'm aware of are in eastern Pennsylvania.
@@WallieB26 Actually there's 1 Kmart in North Dakota (Minot) and 1 Kmart in Michigan (Marshall) that's part of the Midwest so technically there's two Kmarts left in the Midwest (with the exception of the one in Minnesota closing)
No sadly Ohio has no more Kmarts left there's 0 left in the state of Ohio and Illinois sadly lost their last Kmart store in Illinois the last Kmart in Illinois closed in Des Plaines Illinois

I'll find a Kmart next time I head south as there appears to still be some down that way. Btw, I'm a grad student at the OSU business school and the "Fast Eddie" type stuff happens very often. For example, Bob Evans was bought out by a private equity firm a few years ago and they did a similar deal of selling the real estate then turning around and leasing it back to the restaurant operations. The frozen food business was sold to Post (the cereal company). You'd never know it as a customer, though. Look for some Bob Evans locations with slumping sales to close over time and be replaced with other restaurants. Cool videos though, subscribing

I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and all of the Kmarts here have been closed for 10 years. The old super Kmart store is now a super Target.
