I just wanted to stop in and say Rem is absolutely enjoying his new home with me in Michigan. We watched this video together, and his ears perked up when he heard Dr. Matt's voice. Thank you so much for saving him.
+Rachel Martz He's currently asleep behind my legs on the couch. He's a snuggly, wiggly ball of energy and love. He was so well-behaved through the 19 hour drive home too. To think someone was about to put this dog down just kills me.
Joshua Mullin Aw. I too can't believe somebody would put that dog down. I mean, look at the great friend he's become! Well, I hope that you and Rem have many more fun times together. :)
Dr. Matt and Dr. Karri talked about the journey & challenges of using social media, however, they left out one thing they would never say. To be successful, you have to have a personality that comes through on video. Not everyone can do that, but Dr. Matt and Dr. Karri are adorable on film. I've seen other videos from Drs. doing surgery on pets & I nearly fell asleep. Dr. Matt and his Vet pals bring awesome personalities to their videos, in addition to helping the most vulnerable. That's why I watch and share.
cynthia reynolds And their very sincere caring for the animal comes through. They are constantly petting and reassuring scared, hurt animals while working on them. I have seen vets that could be painting a fence for all the concern shown the sick or hurt poor baby. These two are really dedicated animal lovers and it shows.
I totally agree cynthia reynolds. There are lots of personalties on youtube and some are just plain awful. It could be they're boring,or their speaking voice is grating, etc. But Vet Ranch is just believable to me.
Honestly, even if people get grossed out about surgeries, there's no need to flag the freaking video. They put a lot of effort into making these videos and it can take months just to produce one, so all that work would be going to waste.
TaseTheRainbowxXAJ the people who flag that are trolls. they can show human surgery on UA-cam and nobody flags that, some people just don't understand UA-cam guidelines or they're just real jerks.
I had 3 surgeries in my life. 2 were ingrown toenails, the last was an abses on my bodacious gluteus maximus. I watched the first two and was pissed at the doctor because he wanted to put me to sleep for the third :p
TaseTheRainbowxXAJ And in the comments of every video is one or more comments from kids who want to be vets and thank them for showing the procedures. Vet Ranch is inspiring another generation of young people to love and care for animals plus inspire many to become vets with their videos.
What really knocks me out is the way use of the Internet reaches so many people: some viewers want to donate to Vet Ranch. Some viewers want to adopt the animals who are rescued and helped. Some in fact are so moved by what they see, they decide on veterinary school - after seeing firsthand, what the work is about, and how well Dr. Matt and Dr. Karri do what they do. I often get annoyed at 'electronic intrusion' in our lives. But this is such a positive way to use the Net, and I am all for it. Thanks again to all who watch, all who care, all who sponsor. We have two rescue cats and a dog (tho' not from Vet Ranch), but Ric and I support VR's efforts,..just because.!Meow and woof from NYC!
I agree, they're an inspiration to alot of people. Seeing what they do for the animals in need really makes my day (and more) a whole lot better. It's the animals that actually inspire me to stay positive. There is always more than one perspective to life and they really get that through with the energy they have. It's wonderful. I love seeing how they save these lives and the progress they made. I hope VetRanch never stops. c:
Drs. Kerri & Matt, Thanks for producing & posting such a candid video on how you Vet Ranch started & nurtured Vet Ranch. It's a favorite among favorites! Just love your work and watching your channel.
What you guys do is amazing. I first got hooked on demolition ranch. Then I saw where you were talking about vet ranch. Since that day me and my wife will sit here and watch vet ranch together. We love what you guys do thank you
All those Vet students are so lucky 1. They met the Vet Ranch guys 2. They can afford to go to college to become a veterinarian. I seriously want to become a veterinarian, ever since I was little but I can't afford to go to college to become a veterinarian so I'm going as a vet tech or an animal cop and then one day hopefully I'll have enough money to go to college to become a veterinarian!
Jackie Gonzalez Jackie hmmm just an idea why not volunteer in a local vet clinic like VetRanch in your area and pick up tips and lessons from there while helping out. It would aid you once you get the chance to start vet school plus help needy animals while doing so. :)
Jackie Gonzalez There are student loans available. Of course you will have to pay them off when you finish school but there are funds out there. I wish everyone who wanted a college degree was offered one just like our public education in grades K-12. It would go such a long way to help those not blessed with family money make a good life for themselves and would help our country also. If I were rich I would focus on helping people go to college and helping homeless animals. I do what I can for the later already.
Props for all those vet students, and props for Dr Karri and Dr Matt and their staffs and their families for doing what they do. Hope some of the students choose to give back to their communities like you two docs do.
I watch this video, and others from Vet Ranch, and I wish I could go back in time and go to Vet school. But instead, I'm stuck in a cubicle working for a company that really doesn't care about me. I'd cut my salary in half if I could have a job where it felt like I was giving back, especially to animals who need help. Thank you for what you do for those without a voice, Dr. Karri and Dr. Matt.
I had probably watched about 25-30 videos before Dr Karri said and did something that made me realize 2 things: 1) she is in her own clinic w/her spouse [a vet] apart from Dr Matt, and 2) she's not an animal ortho surgeon-- I always thought she was doing all that ORIF/CRIF surgery until she finally showed/introduced two different surgeons. This is a great channel to watch and donate to. Dr Karri really has a loving touch w/these animals so it's always exciting to see how much change she exerts by the end of the videos and same for the other hard working vets of Vet Ranch.
Thanks for doing this video, and the visit to Texas A&M. You've given me/us a window into your process and motivation with Vet Ranch and shared (and maybe inspired !) some other folks with the possibilities available in a Veterinary career path - how to make a life for themselves and to save the lives of our injured, ill and distressed companion souls. Thank you all, so much, for all that you do !
Thank you Dr. Wendy, Dr. Dave, Dr. Lee, Dr. Matt, Dr. Karri, and the rest of the awesome staff at Vet Ranch for your amazing work with all pets. You guys are awesome. By the way. Don't be strangers and publish more vids. Keep up your great work and thanks also to the donors. You too are awesome :-)
I just want to say, as a dog owner and lover, dogs (animals) do not lie. The turn around you demonstrate time and time again is so inspiring!! If what you were doing were shown to every person, imagine who could be next saving what type of different creatures around the world. You're paving a new frontier and we're witnessing it with you. Thanks for being up front and truthful and waking people up ;)
OMG - I LOVE that you guys did this! Congrats on the phenomenal growth of Vet Ranch ! And best of luck to all the vet med students at one of the best colleges in the country, Texas A&M University! :)
Your channel has reached New Zealand and has put a sparkle in my daughters eye when I said you could do this why don't you be a vet!!! She is 11 years at the moment and very inspired!!
This is what good people do.. they contribute to their community. Few people can leave a legacy, but everyone can leave the world in a better place than they found it.
The value and joy of companion animals is simply beyond price. Sometimes, in ways we don't even consider, going in. Example: Those who know our family well are aware we are home caring our 94 year old mom with mixed dementia. And her best nurse? Moonie, a four year old Cairn terrier rescue mix, who we got from a group called AMSTERDOGS, here in NY. Moonie is loyal, smart, playful, never gets under mom's feet to trip her up, yet also never leaves her side. You couldn't ask for a better nurse. Moreover, Moon-Man seems to sense that mom is not quite all there, and allows for that, and is a great comfort to her. Also surpasses those electronic beeper cuffs, which mom does not need..thanks to Moonie, who always knows just where she is going and stays on her trail!!
Most excellent idea...pass it on to the next class of vets! I am just so incredibly heartened by your team of vets who save those who can be saved...but even more...ease the pain for these animals. Texas is very lucky to have you all!
I want to attend Texas A&M University and become a veterinarian and own my own practice when I'm older. I have been an animal lover my whole life and it has been my dream ever since I can remember. I am fascinated by your work Dr. Matt and Dr. Karri, I wish be just like y'all one day!
Thanks SO MUCH for this video, Dr Matt and Dr Karri!! I hope you can go talk with OTHER DVM programs across the country to encourage our up and coming veterinarians to either join Vet Ranch, or to do something like it on their own!!! You guys are just priceless, and you're my heroes for doing the good work you do for the animals who would be gone if not for your work. Hugs all around!
I'm still in high-school, (graduating next year), but I've always had this plan to work with animals in some way, my main goal being to become a vet, and your videos inspire me so much. Please keep doing what you're doing and I hope to make an impact on the world like you guys do one day!
A lot of excellent people in that room. I have never trusted my furbabies to anyone other than Aggie Vets. They all seem to care so much about their patients. My dog had to have each of her knees repaired at the A&M Vet school about a year apart (luckily I only lived about 30 miles from B/CS) and they were so kind. The receptionist during the first one was remarkably friendly and kind. So much so that I wrote a letter to her and whomever would have been over her. I'll never forget the care that they took of all of us. Dr. Matt and Dr. Karri make you feel like they really can "Fix 'em all".
I think it would be cool if you guys set up some type of video submission that allowed people who adopted pets to show an update 6 months later or a year or whatever. It would be neat to see the final destinations of at least some of the animals. Keep up the great work.
+Jake C I think with 2 channels, a business, an organization that needs to also be run as a business, and a young family, they do plenty already. Either way, it would be up to the new pet owners to make their own video, so I think the simplest solution is to upload their own work to UA-cam and ask Vet Ranch to link to it. It would be nice to have updates showcased on Vet Ranch's channel, though. More revenue to help further.
That's what I'm saying. If the new owners just submitted there video to Vet Ranch they could upload it on there channel with minimal effort/editing and at the same time make ad revenue and get publicity off of videos they didn't have to spend time making. Not only does it further the channel it helps more animals get the help they need which is the whole point of all of this.
Jake C I'm not disagreeing, but the average person is likely unable to/or possesses the knowledge and equipment to make and edit reasonable videos, especially if it's their first time. I just can't envisage many being capable of making much beyond shakey phone or lengthy, poorly cut footage. Plus, the Vet Ranch intro and outro would need to be added as minimum. Meredith already fully edits Karri's videos as is. Of course, in a perfect world, I'd be completely wrong.
+AusiKifaru27 I would agree. I've been trying to figure it out for a month and I own a nice camera, this computer and video editing software. I feel like I'm going in circles. Hopefully I will have my first video on UA-cam by April. It will be about five minutes long. I have a whole notebook of story boards and a folder with hundreds of images, titles etc. And not ten seconds of footage yet. now I understand why when you watch a two hour movie at the end you see ten minutes worth of credits. It takes a whole lot of work and I agree that the average person would find it challenging at best. I'm amazed that Vet Ranch and Demo Ranch put out as many as they do.
+nunya biznez Yep, know the feeling. There's only so much you can do with Windows Movie Maker, but the transition to Adobe Premiere is daunting and I've left a lot on the cutting room floor. I've spent 2 decades with Photoshop and don't know how to use 90% of it, but can still make the art I require. Not so with Premiere. You really need to use it often to get the best out of it and I don't make enough videos to keep what I've learned in memory. I wish you more success than I've had :-)
i love watching this channel and watching them save the lives of all the animals.you guys are amazing and awesome.please keep up the great work,BIG HUGS
I have to say that I love to see what you are doing for all these puppies 🐶!!!! You are absolutely awesome!! This cats 🐱 and dogs will be happy from now an. You are awesome man !!!!! Absolutely unbelievable
This is how you inspire someone to do something tell them a true story of what you have done Dr.Matt you are an awesome guy i may not want to be a vet but i am planning on going military as a medic fairly soon im sure there are future animal vets out there that will be inspired to do great work later in life because of this video. Thank you Dr.Matt for being so awesome and taking care of so many animals.
I'm a big fan of your channel. Thank you for bringing this to the public. My eleventh grade daughter is going to be a vet and looks up to u much. So from the bottom of my heart..Thank you!
All your videos are interesting but this one in particular was good as to see and hear more about the workings of your practices and getting to know you both a bit better also. Keep up all the great work you are doing. Thank you for the rescuing of these fur-babies
Really nice to see you giving the next lot of students advice - I work at a university here in Australia where we teach vet students, and I'll make sure to suggest covering initiatives like yours in future classes on using social media as vets. Keep up the great work :)
Grats man. Glad to see this. You're awesome. I wonder where you would sit in a ranking based on likes vs dislikes ratio, because yours always amazes me. Keep it up. And youtube should have an award for that.
Some Vet Emergency/Super-Care hospital in Dalls saved my dog's life in May of 2012. If anyone associated with this channel or this Vet School work at that hospital, thank you very much. I was travelling across country and had an accident. I had to leave my dog at the hospital and travel back to Florida. Then return to Dallas to pick her up 2 weeks later. I was so happy she lived.
Great job guys. Good to see you getting involved and encouraging the next crop of Vets to try and find opportunities to help animals in their areas with their business practice... Keep up the good work, love your videos and the work you do...
Oh my god. I cried. I really did. Because my goal is to get into Texas A&M University.. I want to be a vet and i have been watching Vet Ranch for so.. long. I hope you guys are there.. when i.. hopefully make it there as well.
This was a good show, because you might inspire future Vets to develop similar non-profit ideas. It doesn't matter if it's a critical life saving procedure or a nasty case of mange, these animals start out miserable. Then their body's mend (even with a amputation). But my favorite part is how their mind and personality heal, become energetic & happy, that's what Vet Ranch means to me!
Meeka grew so much in your care! I'm glad there's a child in her new home-they can work off their energy together! Thank you for all you do for these animals.
Rather you all admit it or not. Your all these animals Angels!! Thank You for everything you do! My heart breaks everytime I watch your channel. The tears start flowing too. But I wouldnt have it any other way. I wince during the graphic parts but I like to see it. I wanted to be a Vet for many, many years. But that never panned out. Never stop doing this channel. This day and age of the internet where you see pictures of people and their animals where the animals are being abused. Its people like you guys that makes this World a much better place!
That was fun to watch, the students seemed to love it. You probably have a few future Vet Ranch vets right there in the classroom. You guys do so much more than present hard luck cases. You show the story of caring for the well being of vulnerable souls and the profound worth of animal lives. Great lessons for kids and adults. I think the reason that Kerri's video captured the hearts of so many people is because you can see her passion for that animal etched all over her face and in her eyes. In every video the care you guys display is very touching. I always think that it is such a shame more people can't be as compassionate to each other and as humane towards animals as you guys are.
In my country, Brazil, was prohibited by government of helping animals for free, because he wasn't a org. He was going to help animals at is at clinic for free on saturdays... They said that if he continued to do so would be prohibited from exercising the vet function :(
+ieda18 i live in Brazil too, and i see that the number of mutts (vira latas) is just growing up a lot in my city and big part of them are taken by the pushcart (carrocinha) and probaly are killed, even with the intervetion of the comunity.
This is awesome--thank you for recording this and putting it on the channel! I love Q&A/presentations like this and there's no way I could have seen this if you hadn't posted it.
It always makes me so happy to watch your videos. You guys n gals do such a wonderful job! And to those who donate your time, money, foster and adopt... You are AWESOME! Thank you to everyone for what you do to make life just a little sweeter for everyone and everything!
It's amazing what an abandoned deer and an energetic black labrador can accomplish. The evolution of the Vet Ranch story is truly fascinating. And, the creation of this philanthropic business model is no small contribution to humanity.
I wish I could join the Vet Ranch team! Unfortunately, due to legalities, I'm not allowed to take videos of all my charity cases- HBC emergencies, abandoned pets, injured wildlife, parvo puppies, fracture repairs, etc.
I'm torn on becoming a vet just because of what you do, thank you for these videos, they always make my day just like the demo ranch channel. Thank you thank you thank you thank you so much you really do make a massive difference and I hope you wear this like a badge of pride.
You guys are straight up awesome! I love what you do and how you do it. My good friend owns a clinic in Colorado and I'm going to pass along your channel to her. Maybe she can help expand your channel a little a little more. You truly deserve every donation and every bit of attention that comes your way.
I just wanted to stop in and say Rem is absolutely enjoying his new home with me in Michigan. We watched this video together, and his ears perked up when he heard Dr. Matt's voice. Thank you so much for saving him.
Hahaha that's awesome! Thank YOU for coming all the way to get him!!!! And thanks for the update!
+Joshua Mullin (PlasticLobster) That's amazing! I'm so glad you decided to adopt him. He's a great dog, I'll bet!
+Rachel Martz He's currently asleep behind my legs on the couch. He's a snuggly, wiggly ball of energy and love. He was so well-behaved through the 19 hour drive home too. To think someone was about to put this dog down just kills me.

I don't know much about scholarship opportunities, but that's something you could look into

It's never to late to go to school. There are always online and night classes.
You ppl are awesome human beings. Thank you for helping all these poor animals and giving them a life.
Liking the video before playing it. It's becoming a well deserved habit with this channel!
I will say it again you guy's the salt of the earth !!!

I remember vet ranch has 200k+ sub like last year or something. Now they are on their way to 500k. WOW. Vet ranch deserves every single subscriber.

My favourite animal channels on YT are Vet Ranch and Hope for Paws, both amazing.

Me too. I watch them both
+Ricardo MLK Should check out Animal Aid Unlimited.
+Ricardo MLK Yep, they should both definately collaborate no matter how far apart they are. I bet Eldad will be in...
I watch both too! HIYA FELLOW FAN!

I'm thinking about donating money. I'm so happy I found this channel! I enjoy watching your videos! I'm blessed to be a viewer! 🙂
Thank you for all the good you've been doing Vet Ranch

Also surpasses those electronic beeper cuffs, which mom does not need..thanks to Moonie, who always knows just where she is going and stays on her trail!!
Dr. Karri is always so nurturing and gentle in videos. Nice to see the other side of her, so relax and chirpy!
Karri, I wish be just like y'all one day!
you guys do great work, keep it up from one animal lover to another
You guys are so inspiring
Thanks SO MUCH for this video, Dr Matt and Dr Karri!! I hope you can go talk with OTHER DVM programs across the country to encourage our up and coming veterinarians to either join Vet Ranch, or to do something like it on their own!!! You guys are just priceless, and you're my heroes for doing the good work you do for the animals who would be gone if not for your work. Hugs all around!
Keep up the good work. All life is precious. Thank you for giving these animals a chance.
I'm still in high-school, (graduating next year), but I've always had this plan to work with animals in some way, my main goal being to become a vet, and your videos inspire me so much. Please keep doing what you're doing and I hope to make an impact on the world like you guys do one day!
Way to go to you all at Vet Ranch! And a big 👊🏼 to all who support this great channel.
Think how much good could be accomplished in many different avenues using this format.
I love this channel ! Please don't ever stop saving these animals. Thank you so for much all that you guys do to save them !!
thank you for what you do. makes me think there's hope for humanity still. love demolition ranch too. keep up the good work.
Jake C
I'm not disagreeing, but the average person is likely unable to/or possesses the knowledge and equipment to make and edit reasonable videos, especially if it's their first time.
Love you guys & your successful work ❤️✊🏼 wouldnlove to meet you guys
i love watching this channel and watching them save the lives of all the animals.you guys are amazing and awesome.please keep up the great work,BIG HUGS
What a cool thing to do! Talking to other vets about how they can use social media to help animals. Awesome!
WOW! That was fun! So glad you guys got together to get Vet Ranch started. Bless you all!
Matt, you are much loved !! All of you.
Grats man. Glad to see this. You're awesome. I wonder where you would sit in a ranking based on likes vs dislikes ratio, because yours always amazes me. Keep it up. And youtube should have an award for that.
Great video! keep doing what you guys doing.
I love u guys, I'm 68 and always enjoying you so much.
Great job guys. Good to see you getting involved and encouraging the next crop of Vets to try and find opportunities to help animals in their areas with their business practice... Keep up the good work, love your videos and the work you do...
Vet ranch you guys are awesome and you guys are doing great job by helping those poor animals. Much love 😊
Oh my god. I cried. I really did. Because my goal is to get into Texas A&M University.. I want to be a vet and i have been watching Vet Ranch for so.. long.
I hope you guys are there.. when i.. hopefully make it there as well.
you guys really do inspire people. you guys are the best
Both of your channels Matt are amazing and both have a unique community, keep up the good work
I agree, I found Vet Ranch through the Q&A on The Demolition Ranch Channel and I've seen every video! Great content!
Love the work you guys do. Thank you!
Can we just pause to appreciate the sweetness that is dr Karri with her hair open :)
Works for me.
Matt Blade you mean her hair down 😽
Dr. Matt the tactical veterinarian
How can a person dislike these videos?!?! These people are saving lives!!!
Its people like you guys that makes this World a much better place!
seriously, we need more people like you guys.
dr. Karri is bae
truuuuue ! 😘😘😘😘😘
+B SWEEZY Dr Matt´s wife is too, with all the due respect.
+B SWEEZY She is. Unfortunately for us her husband already found her *before anyone else* :D
yeeeep
+marcel1416 that sounds really creepy O.o
They said that if he continued to do so would be prohibited from exercising the vet function :(
+ieda18 Thats sad. :(
DirkAustin :(
+ieda18 i live in Brazil too, and i see that the number of mutts (vira latas) is just growing up a lot in my city and big part of them are taken by the pushcart (carrocinha) and probaly are killed, even with the intervetion of the comunity.
+ieda18 I lived in Korea for a few years. I never saw any stray dogs or cats.
+Scott Jenkins That's because they eat dogs and cats in South Korea.
Dr. Matt ..... your 5 year old rocks! I love that comment ..... that you're greeted with, 'What! You didn't bring puppies?'
Thanks for posting this, Dr. Matt! You answered quite a few questions that I've been wondering about. 😃
You guys are my inspiration I want to become a vet just like you guys !!😌
This is awesome--thank you for recording this and putting it on the channel! I love Q&A/presentations like this and there's no way I could have seen this if you hadn't posted it.
I freaking love this channel and all that you guys do. Love you all!
I remember the video with the dog and the deer . Wow. Such good things have come along since then with what Vet Ranch has accomplished.
Awesome! I wish you folks the best that life has to offer.
Can you make individual playlists for each vet?
I wish I could join the Vet Ranch team! Unfortunately, due to legalities, I'm not allowed to take videos of all my charity cases- HBC emergencies, abandoned pets, injured wildlife, parvo puppies, fracture repairs, etc.
+tactical veterinarian I feel ya. I just helped open a private clinic, and I am finally able to shoot video!
you guys are amazing!
thank you for what you do .
We would be more than happy to have Vet Ranch come up to Minnesota. Our harsh winters are so hard on the animals that don't have homes up here.
