Wukong, Bajie, Sandy and the Dragon Horse have celestial bodies, and are basically equal to the elements, so traveling for example with the somersault cloud does nothing for them. For humans however it is deadly, because humans have mortal and physical bodies and therefore cannot endure such methods of travel. Tripitaka HAS to travel by foot.

Hey Yugene, you know the theme you mentioned that reminded you of your childhood at 1:40:36? I'm pretty sure that Game Science had actually paid homage to this theme. In the game, if you accumulate the maximum focus points needed for the wukong stance whilst having the full wukong armour set equipped, the destined one will plant the staff down, extend it high up in the air and slam down three times. When this animation is triggered, that theme song you mentioned actually plays. If you don't believe me, find this video: Black Myth Wukong - MAX LEVEL 342 Vs Bosses++++ NG+++ Gameplay (NO DAMAGE) (the thumbnail has the destined one against the yaksha king) and go up to the 20 second mark. I'm pretty sure that is the theme mentioned. Also, really enjoyed this video. It was very interesting and fun to watch, especially when you made the joke about Spider-Ham!

I just have one remark regarding Erlang. I’ve seen many people say that he was always part of Wukong’s plan, but to me, it felt more like he didn’t know until he beat Wukong and took the Mind relic with him. Only then did he start gaining awareness of Wukong’s true intentions, and how they align with his. So what makes you think he was always part of Wukong’s plan?

I think the first scene in the chapter 6 animation when wukong puts the bowl down, is actually not the present (it's just wukong and not the destined one with wukong's memories). It is actually right before the game starts when wukong vs Erlang. After my initial playthrough of the game I read all of Journey to the West. It was nice remembering all of the stories as I watched your video. I especially appreciate the clarification about where the game differs from the book, especially in regard to Lady White Bone. I can understand why the Chinese don't like how the game changed it. That story is one of the most frustrating in the whole journey! After everything Wukong does to protect Tang Sanzang, how can he not trust Wukong?

I was wondering what that mural was at 8:36. It’s near the top of the pagoda realm, after you fight the captain and escape the mural will be a small bit ahead on the left.

I wonder if in a way that the good ending was meant to be discovered after a couple playthroughs. Like escaping samsara, you have to go through the steps over and over until you can do it right and find a way out
Sekiro is a great game that also delves into immortality and mankinds willingness to even sacrifice their humanity to achieve it. There is even a section of the game where buddhist monks let themselves get infected with a centipede parasite capable of animating its victims as if the victim is still alive after being killed. IMO, the Guardian Ape boss battle is still the most iconic and creepiest fight in the whole game. Meanwhile, you, the player, actually have true immortality since yours is related to a celestial dragon. The best part is that bosses will comment on your immortality if you decide to revive yourself mid fight after dying. The last boss is even brought back from hell after he dies from old age, in his prime, and is one of the best fights in the game. I highly recommend Sekiro for anyone interested in the subject of immortality and how badly it can corrupt mankind. The Dark Souls series also touches on the subject of immortality being a curse and when you lose your purpose in life. You become a mindless killing machine unable to distinguish friend from foe, so retaining your humanity is always the utmost importance.

Sekiro is a great game that also delves into immortality and mankinds willingness to even sacrifice their humanity to achieve it. There is even a section of the game where buddhist monks let themselves get infected with a centipede parasite capable of animating its victims as if the victim is still alive after being killed. IMO, the Guardian Ape boss battle is still the most iconic and creepiest fight in the whole game. Meanwhile, you, the player, actually have true immortality since yours is related to a celestial dragon. The best part is that bosses will comment on your immortality if you decide to revive yourself mid fight after dying. The last boss is even brought back from hell after he dies from old age, in his prime, and is one of the best fights in the game. I highly recommend Sekiro for anyone interested in the subject of immortality and how badly it can corrupt mankind.
The Dark Souls series also touches on the subject of immortality being a curse and when you lose your purpose in life. You become a mindless killing machine unable to distinguish friend from foe, so retaining your humanity is always the utmost importance.
