Looks like someone in R. Betis is a FM fan and know how to rejuvenate a club. Get rid of deadwood, sign good free agent players, find excellent bargain transfers and play to your strengths. Good for them, and good luck to them.
You forgot the obligatory "one season after the success, the big clubs would surround you like vultures and pick your best player without mercy so you have to start all over again".
Transfer business over the last year has been really good for Betis, but I think it's equally vital to mention the quality of Betis' youth development. Last season around half of Betis' league goals were scored by academy graduates, and the club is getting better at selling them once European giants inevitably come knocking on the door. Over two consecutive years, Betis has seen the breakthroughs of two CM playmakers with world-class potential, Dani Ceballos and Fabian Ruiz. Ceballos left to Real Madrid for a smaller amount (around 15M euros) but in the case of Fabian, Ferrer and co. wised up and quickly renewed the player's contract, increasing his release clause to the 30M Napoli had to pay this summer. And apart from Fabian, Setien's trust in the academy was rewarded with two other big breakthroughs: Dominican LWB Junior Firpo and striker Lorenzo Moron. Both performed really well throughout the second half of last season and they will be the starters in their respective positions for this 18/19 season. I would argue that the switch to a 3-4-2-1, the Bartra signing and the breakthrough of Moron were key reasons for Betis' significant improvement during the 2nd half of the season, which led them all the way to 6th place and European spots.
Good vid. I think Sevilla could be a really interesting team this season aswell. Just hired a very promising coach in Machin who worked wonders at an unfavoured Girona side. Potential Top 4 IMO.
Mikey what you mean potential top 4? That's usually what they get, it's just they have shit seasons and get 5th and 6th. Should always be aiming for top 4
I’m a Real Madrid but I want to see Real Betis succeed big time. I would love to see a Cinderella run for them and their an underdog team I’ll be rooting for. Except for against Madrid I would say though.
Cosmin even though Ronaldo is my favorite player I’ve been a Madrid fan before he came and remain so afterwards. I don’t get these peoples loyalties, as my heart for football will always rest with Los Blancos.
Cosmin I've been a fan of Ronaldo since the beginning. I was initially somewhat of a fan of Real during the first Galacticos era, then I became a hardcore fan after Cri joined. Now I'm a fan of Juve too, but that hasn't hindered my support for Los Blancos. I'll probably support them over Juve if they meet each other in the CL again, but I'll still root for Ronaldo as a player I think.
Another lovely video, been noticing betis since the last 2 seasons..they do play very fluid football, that win over Madrid was a pleasant shock as well.
My fav Spanish team. Remember footy manager 2001 they started off in the second league and I won promotion and the league in 2 seasons and loved them since. Denilson was class as well
Hello! I´m a Betis´ supporter, very thank for give to know my team in the english comunity, this year my Real Betis become a nice things (sorry for my english)
I would have loved to hear more about Quique Setién, the style of football he lets play and how he became the coach he is now. But this video was also very informative!
Seems like the defensive stability aim is well on its way to being succeeded, despite the shaky start. Only 2 goals conceded since gameweek 1, and 5 out of 6 possible clean sheets, including the impressive 1-0 win over Sevilla. Goals have been a slight problem so far but that inevitably comes with teams sitting back against them, and goals will most probably come in abundance very soon. The control Betis have had in certain games has been quite unbelievable as well, having over 80% possession in their victory over Leganes on Sunday, a number which is very rarely seen even amongst Europes elite. They are looking very strong, and are only going to get better, much down to the genius of Setien. I am thoroughly looking forward to the rest of the season and seeing what more they can bring to the table, hopefully some silverware.
I think Guardado plays a huge part on this new Betis side. Previously he moved from winger into the midfield while at PSV but truly came into the role at Betis where, while not being as athletic and fast as in his younger years, he plays a massive role commanding the attack of the team. Not to mention he's now the team captain. Not bad for a kid from Guadalajara.
Eric Ayo parking the bus isn’t really a tactic in itself but just a common expression that refers to defending very deeply. If you want to learn about teams that tend to defend defend deeply then watch Tifo’s videos on Mourinho’s Inter, Burnley, Iceland etc. And once again, there isn’t any one way of countering it, but a team that has to break down deep blocks a lot is Man City so watch Tifo’s videos on them (maybe the full back one?) and there’s plenty you can read about positional play online.
It’s the most effective during competitions like WC or UCL, not on a regular league, because you need to go out and win, in UCL not necessarily, that’s why even the best Barcelona suffer to win one and surely City will suffer too. I personally think it would be more fair if UCL or WC are play like a regular league.
Would be great to see Betis reaching an even higher level than last season (although that 0-3 against Levante wasn't a good start lol, it might take some time i guess?), La Liga definitely needs more competitive teams like they used to have back in the days of Valencia and Super Depor in the 2000s, and even Leicester-like situations such as Real Sociedad almost winning in 02/03. Btw its nice to see Joaquin there again, i remember him back when Denilson played in Betis haha
I have always maintained that the wing attack is the best form of scoring goals. Betis does this efficiently so they beat Barcelona. With effective wing attack, you can beat even the top clubs.
Well, Betis academy as far as I know it is not pretty well organised and directed, however, the product they work with is quite good and now, with Setien commanding the first team, there are no reasons to be afraid to try new emerging players in the first team. There is a very promising striker playing in reserve team, Roberto, which is class IMO and this coincide with big Spanish clubs also that have been following to him so far very closely, also Kaptoum, who played with Barcelona first team, is playing in reserve and commuting with first team frequently.
Ali Riaz people are writing off Huddersfield too soon, they have bought in some quality players and play good football, plus their atmosphere at home is prob the best overall in the prem. They just don't go quiet ever
Tifo football I am huge real betis fan an everyone ask me why don’t I like barce or Madrid an I always say roque Santa Cruz is the reason I go for them also betis is the only team in la liga that I tune into
Hi Tifo team, your videos are awesome, very informative as well as entertaining.. How can we create this kind of visuals that you guys are using in videos..?
What about Loren, Francis and Junior? Quique is doing a nice Job in Betis. He has squeezed the quarry, important fact that you did not reflect... incomplete
They're in 10th place and just got thrashed 4-0 by Levante, who are staving off relegation. This video is correct in that Real Betis should be one of the top teams in La Liga and concerning the squad (Bartra, W. Carvalho, Lo Celso, Inui, Emerson has great potential, Guardado) that they have they have probably the 4th best team in the league. They should have been fighting la liga's big guns. They've got to be really disappointed with themselves for this and I'm sure they'll be better next season, but all I can think is that they've been a little hasty to judge players. Ruiz plays for Napoli so he's had an upgrade and considering they finished 5th in la liga I'm thinking they've tried to fix something that was never broken. They're unlikely to be able to sustain competition with La Liga's big guns and while I've said their squad is great it's still understandably a long way behind that of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. In my opinion they've signed the right players but sold the wrong ones and since there's been no foundation to build on its all gone a bit warped. They're playing Lo Celso, a central midfielder, at centre forward. What they've got to do now I can only guess is cement the side they have, let it blossom and eventually it'll come good, but results aren't really showing at all right now
I'm a fan but I'm sure people that made this were cringing a bit after the Levante match as William Carvalho looked so slow and lethargic especially on that one old timers singular run on the unlucky deflection off Marc Bartra
William Carvalho's last seasons have been very disapointing, he is very slow, unnable to cover the right places in the field. Offensively he is Nice, his best feature being his great passing hability and changing of flanks. Still i consider him a big defensive liabilty and unnable to play the lone defensive midfield role without compromising the defensive stability of the team
Majidur Rahman Probably contractual issues. Quite a few players wanted to leave (and some did) Sporting Lisbon this summer over the matter. Lisbon are just lucky it wasn't a free transfer.
Hawkins Stern physically he plays like a 37 year old rather than a 33 year old due to his poor physique and handling of himself. Had Brazilian Ronaldo similarities when he broke out
and thats why he even started playing no.10 for england. his speed is a hinderance, if he was faster he wouldve scored more than his 1 goal in 6 games. but because of the different skill set he has acquired over the years as hes slowed down he becomes DC united's best playmaker from the no 9 posution
barcas board shouldve went after sieten instead of that dinosaur of a coach they have smh, real betis is so underrated, by far the one of most well composed teams in the world along with city, liverpool and napoli......most big clubs win by WC indiviual quality, valverde, lapotegui, tuchel, niko kovac, arent WC coaches........pep, sarri, sieten, klopp, fall in that category because of how consistent they can be 10-15 games straight.......most teams have quality but they lack consistency with there own "style" of play, i prefer watching football with creativity. being pragmatic wont get you far but being dynamic will.
Tuomas Saarinen exactly, put messi in klopps, sietens, pep, and sarris system and hell win everything.....at barca there is no system nor tactics, just quality nothing more, coach is shit at barca. he just has big stars.
Looks like someone in R. Betis is a FM fan and know how to rejuvenate a club.

You forgot the obligatory "one season after the success, the big clubs would surround you like vultures and pick your best player without mercy so you have to start all over again".
now they're third in the league
Here after the fall of Valverde's empire
yes sir!
More like Valverde's wasteland
Transfer business over the last year has been really good for Betis, but I think it's equally vital to mention the quality of Betis' youth development. Remember playing with Betis in Fifa 2005 or 6
Denilson, Oliveira, Joaquin, Assunçao, Edu..
Dream team! With that Kappa kit too!
Can't ignore the fact that team managed to qualify for their first ever and only Champions League campaign
Good vid. I think Sevilla could be a really interesting team this season aswell. Just hired a very promising coach in Machin who worked wonders at an unfavoured Girona side. Potential Top 4 IMO.
Mikey the Sevilla-Betis rivalry looks exciting next season
Definitely, can't wait.
Agreed, Sevilla fan myself but both teams in a good state means we're in for some cracking games
Mikey what you mean potential top 4? That's usually what they get, it's just they have shit seasons and get 5th and 6th. Should always be aiming for top 4
Girona is mainly decent because of that dirty Man City money and nothing more than that.
And now they've beaten Barcelona too at Camp Nou. Amazing!
Video on Lucien Favre's tactics & how BVB will lineup?
I’m a Real Madrid but I want to see Real Betis succeed big time. I would love to see a Cinderella run for them and their an underdog team I’ll be rooting for. Except for against Madrid I would say though.

Can't agree more.

As a lowkey Betis fan, I can remember THAT away game against Real Madrid. But yeah, good luck for the season
The Cartoon Adict honestly Real’s home record was so poor last year it’s not even funny.
As of Jan 27, they’re now sitting 3rd in la liga and are playing inspired football under pellegrini 💚💚
Their style of play is absolutely amazing style.
Another lovely video, been noticing betis since the last 2 seasons..they do play very fluid football, that win over Madrid was a pleasant shock as well.
A United fan since 1990, but Real Betis will forever be my 2nd team. Always want them to do well. Vamos, Betis!!!
Seeing Joaquin being a part of this new project at Betis is great. Let's hope 2018/19 brings some silverware.
Dean D I hope so, Europa league at least, they are still pushing for more signings, they can make it!!
Lorenzo Serra Ferrer was a great coach.Good to see him been given the deserve he deserves, mister thank you for everything you did at AEK.
Thank you for making these videos, they're amazing
It's 6 years since I support Betis.I love this team.Musho Betis. This year we made in the Ucl.
Lozano to Betis, think about it, it would be nice
Bit of a sideways move maybe?
yeah but the colors would suit him well :D
What a team they have! In 2-3 years they will reach Sevilla level!
This man gonna better Barca now
I'm so excited and I just cant hide it!
Very nice, always very sympathetic to me but finally stepping it up a notch
I would have loved to hear more about Quique Setién, the style of football he lets play and how he became the coach he is now.

Real Betis my favourite Spanish team since Denilson. Mucho Betis. Andalucia es verde y blanco
HELLO BARCA FANS ♥
Love this Channel
Great channel guys always great videos

Possible
Could you do a Young boys tactics? They've absolutely crushed the Suisse league over the past year
Can you do, "how effective "park the bus" tactic is? And how to counter it?"
Eric Ayo parking the bus isn’t really a tactic in itself but just a common expression that refers to defending very deeply. Eric Ayo the correct terminology is ‘counter attacking football’ and it is the most effective way to play football imo. Pragmatism works in any era.
Sound blasters are very effective for dispersing gatterings.
Jesus coronado it wouldn't, i think it's nice to have different formats of major competitions

And now they’ve got fekir..WOW!
Such a good signing
Aissa Mandi is one of the great CB currently... hopefully one day he will play for Man United or Juventus my two favorites teams
I must follow Betis more closely. This is an interesting club
The funniest thing Jaoquin was like the next big thing during the 2005s and today hes still playing! Hes so underrated.
I haven't cared about Betis since they had Denilson on champ man 01/02. Let's see if this reignited the fire.
Mr Lebowski if you watched any of their games last season ,your interest would have been ignited already
now you make us noticed about what real betis could achieve, at least 3-6 spot
Joaquin still kicking ball? Man...
rcarl 415 he still has a lot of pace too
Amazing video as always. Would be great if names could be placed below players.
The sky is surely the limit for this club.
pretty good signings in Bartra and Carvalho
Camarasa has joined Premier League team Cardiff City on-loan too.
I have always maintained that the wing attack is the best form of scoring goals. Betis does this efficiently so they beat Barcelona. With effective wing attack, you can beat even the top clubs.
who is here in 2020 after barca signed Setien?
Tifo how is their youth academy and their youth prospects? I guess they're investing in those as well?
Betis youtn coming up to first team is not really their biggest priority like rayo vallecano or leganes.
They are intergrating the them very well, 3 or them are already in the starting line up
Junior Firpo and Loren broke through last year and this year are going to be important
Ceballos
Well, Betis academy as far as I know it is not pretty well organised and directed, however, the product they work with is quite good and now, with Setien commanding the first team, there are no reasons to be afraid to try new emerging players in the first team. Could you do Huddersfield Town, they've over achieved 2 season in a row and now have a average age of 25 in their squad
Ghost them and Cardiff are certainties to be relegated this season
Ali Riaz people are writing off Huddersfield too soon, they have bought in some quality players and play good football, plus their atmosphere at home is prob the best overall in the prem. They just don't go quiet ever
I’m all for La Liga becoming more competitive
Tifo football I am huge real betis fan an everyone ask me why don’t I like barce or Madrid an I always say roque Santa Cruz is the reason I go for them also betis is the only team in la liga that I tune into
Jose Gonzalez I'm curious where are you from? Paraguay
Barca is in good hands😀
Quality content as always. Keep it going! Are you ever taking requests?
Do a video on SC Braga from the Portuguese League !
Hi Tifo team, your videos are awesome, very informative as well as entertaining.. How can we create this kind of visuals that you guys are using in videos..?
Jake Monday I'm asking about the application they are using for such illustration..
KIDU WAY Photoshop? Maybe you can search tracing image with photoshop (or other graphic application).
Make room for D. Lainez.
carvalho was a steal
What about Loren, Francis and Junior? Quique is doing a nice Job in Betis. He has squeezed the quarry, important fact that you did not reflect... incomplete

Can you do a “fabregas false 9”
does anyone know the soundtrack used in the video?!?!?!
Can you do how realistic football manager is compared to real life?
And now Lo Celso to Real Betis
Are these illustrations made "by hand"?
do Inter/Suning please
Viva el Betis manque pierda!
What an exciting coach. Hope he comes to Barca someday
abdul warees You have Valverde.....The man is a genius
Milly Mahinra modern day football managers last for long. Even pep managed only 4 seasons.
abdul warees pep could’ve went for much longer but lost it when mourinho destroyed him in that 11-12 season with a much worse team
Do why Bayern Munich do not spend Money?
Blazer RAV no value in the current market. I can see martial going this Bayern next year tho.
Blazer RAV bcz the players in dortmund and hoffenhiem aren't expensive
Betis for liga
things i would do to have quique setien at united....
Sander Štenov if you can’t appreciate what mourinho has done at United given the circumstances you’re deluded.
what has he done exactly? apart from ruining young players and parking the bus every game.
I'm a fan but I'm sure people that made this were cringing a bit after the Levante match as William Carvalho looked so slow and lethargic especially on that one old timers singular run on the unlucky deflection off Marc Bartra

Do park the bus! (Mourinho..etc, or just the tactic itself)
I dont understant nothing but MUCHO BETIS!
And now Lo Celso
When and why did carvalleho go to Betis
to play in the best league
Majidur Rahman
Probably contractual issues. Quite a few players wanted to leave (and some did) Sporting Lisbon this summer over the matter. Lisbon are just lucky it wasn't a free transfer.
Did not watch the video? He was interested in the the project, not sure why that's weird
Beacause betis is very big
Betis got 6th placed and Villarreal got 5th placed
Asian games song i like it
I recommend making a video about wayne rooney and DC united after DC united's season is over. he might be the best false 9 in MLS history
Hawkins Stern He's now old
people have been saying rooney appears older than his age for years. what do you mean?
HOT CHEETOS BAG without Messi this Valverde Barcelona would be absolutely nothing.
Just imagine if you would throw in Messi to this Peps City squad...
Tuomas Saarinen exactly, put messi in klopps, sietens, pep, and sarris system and hell win everything.....at barca there is no system nor tactics, just quality nothing more, coach is shit at barca. he just has big stars.
Same need to be done in Arsenal.
Mustafi,Xhaka,Mkhitaryan - all just not good enough for gunners.
another worldie report
