Howdy friends, I was going through my old outtakes and I thought y'all might have a chuckle at some of them. Here's a quick compilation of the better ones
Nice video would have loved to see them all if there's more. Really gives good insight to what soldiers had to go through and how far modern weapons have come.
@@Earth517Phoenix These are the only good ones I saved, unfortunately. Quite a few were just deleted right after filming because I wasn’t thinking about doing a blooper reel at the time
@@monikamorningstarshadlo4129 Well plastic doesn't really conduct well, so the shells wouldn't be that hot even though they've just been fired. They'd most likely just be a bit warm.
@@awsomewolfman124 I understand that after a century of occasional use even the best cared for antique rifle will show age, but, the rifles on the front line? They see hell, be it dirt, mud, blood, you name it. And they will see it for months on end. I imagine even the best cared for guns on the front lines will malfunction like shown in the worst of opportune moments.
The Lee Navy is such a cool and unusual rifle, shame ammo and clips for it are such a challenge. As long as you don't use converted .30-40 Krag brass to load with though, you'll be safe.
The ammo wasn't entirely in spec, modern shotgun shells have slightly wider rims than what that one was meant for, so they have a tough time out of the ejection port, though it also wasn't a particularly good shotgun to begin with.
Whenever I experience these at the range I think “well if that mattered, I’d be dead.” I pray you never get a double feed in your Mauser. It happened only once and once is enough. The round was stuck diagonally transitioning from the magazine to the feed ramp and I couldn’t move the bolt either direction. I got the bolt out but the round was still stuck.
1:12 my old Winchester model 1912, made in 1913, 16 gauge does this a lot. I use Remington high brass in it because the Crimp is shorter on a Remington hull so it will eject from the 2-9/16 chamber. Most of the time. I was trench sweeping some grouse the other day and one is literally standing in front of me and I pump the action, change targets, go to fire and realize there is a hull jammed into the ejection port. I got the grouse though
Dios mío por una parte me causó risas pero por la otra... Una desesperación por imaginar una situación así en medio de una guerra, muy buen video y saludos desde Argentina
I've always wondered, did you have to get the ammo custom made for the lee navy? also the Alofs just seemed like the ejected shell wasn't tripping the lever that makes the arm lower to put the next round in the chamber. Very quirky but clever mechanism lol.
For the Lee Navy I had to order custom brass and load it myself. And that is the only time I’ve had a failure from the Alofs. No idea how that shell slipped by without tripping it
6mm Lee Navy isn't commonly available anywhere anymore, so you basically have to handload it. If you wanna load that cartridge, make sure that the casings are converted from .220 Swift ones, rather than from .30-40 Krag cases, the safety margins become way too thin with the latter.
I love how this video serves as the center piece for why many of these rarer rifles didn't catch on and last longer than their more iconic counterparts
Hey thanks for posting this! Most folks only show the money shots. It's nice to know I'm not the only one messing up. Laughin with ya, not at ya. Thanks again, I mean it.
As someone who has fired a Turkish Mauser, it is generally a rather nice gun to shoot. But when I asked my cousin (the owner of the gun) about trying to load it with stripper clips, I saw pain and horror in his eyes, before he just told me no.
Even with all the bloopers, I'm sure you still enjoy firing these old weapons. Personally, If I was to own an old rifle, I would get two. The Canadian Ross Rifle, and a LEE Enfield SMLE. I would like the M1 Grand, but I don't think Canadian law allows us to own that one, I could be wrong though.
Most of them. I don’t get to just shoot for fun much anymore because most of my range time is dedicated to filming. Definitely recommend a Ross, I love mine
Quick tip about the mosin. The bottom plate on the magazine portion of the gun can be removed if you compress the spring all the way. I learn that not to long ago on my own mosin nagant.

Yeah most video games do a bad job at capturing how awkward real guns can be. But farcry2 was the shit!
The way that shotgun just continually and consistently jammed was absolute comedic gold.
Maybe thats on purpose? Like you dont have to pickup shells from the ground and instead can take them right from the case extractor.

The joys of working with antique firearms.
Could you imagine fighting a war with them?
@@extinctfleaz2661 That has to be genuinely terrifying when the fight is not with an enemy, but with your own rifle.
@bently13 To be fair some of these guns are almost a hundred years old so they don't work as smooth as they did out the factory line.
It seems to me that earlier the cartridges could have been different, with which the weapon worked well. It may not work well with modern ammo.
