I love Dragon Ball but man the fact that Gero can build a robot way stronger than final form Frieza from scratch is kinda dumb when you stop to think about it
*The 17 everyone remembers* - Weaker than A16 - Beaten and absorbed by Cell - Quickly surpassed by Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, and probably Piccolo. *The 17 everyone forgets* - Effortlessly stronger than full power Frieza, who is stronger than every mortal creature in the universe. (17 has never trained btw) - Handcrafted in a laboratory for the explicit purpose of being better than everyone, and endowed with only the most desirable traits for power and devoid of any weaknesses - Was only ever surpassed by the strongest freaks in the universe after they decided to train even harder than usual So it's actually internally consistent that he improves so quickly, there's no need to create headcanon about him getting stronger passively. Next to Cell and the other Androids, he's the ultimate life form in the universe, and the only thing stopping him from surpassing Beerus is he probably only trains as much as Krillin, if not less.
Here is something interesting that I've always questioned. With infinite energy, couldn't they continue to charge an attack until it's strong enough to defeat whatever opponent they are facing? Is there something stopping them from continually pouring all of their energy into an attack until it's strong enough? With the Genkidama it makes sense but what if they are making a Powerball or something and just constantly pumping it up with their endless energy supply.
Shouldn't the cell Jr's also been insanely strong? They should of had all of cells potential plus they were already strong. This would make sense too if the cell Jr's can keep up with 17.
Power-ups in: DBZ, GT, & Super make no sense. Toriyama has said that power levels were dictated by the story but should've been planned better. If Dragonball were given more time perhaps that could've happened
Yes. Goku's power ups at the end of the Namek Saga were total asspulls. He literally got ×33.1/3 then ×50. That's ×1,666.2/3. And that doesn't even count the probable ×2 zenkai and ×5 training in a single week. Yeah. He went from 9,000 (over 8,000) to 150,000,000 in a week. Man had no impulse control.
Therefore there is a plot hole in dbz/super bcs it's stated that the top takes place the same year that future gohan dies which means android 17 from the future should have been top level of main timeline android 17
"Ah I am here for my brother and sister Cyborg 17 and 18" Got to love this saga on t.f.s 😂😂 but 17 was so powerful before the t.o.p so imagine the power he grew and experience during, its immense

RIP Toriyama but even if you find his secret book in is secret Lab with an actual plan to build Cell..... there will be a picture of Poop at the end ... I just wish Toriyama could have enjoyed the money he made off of his mind
No and yes. Their infinite energy supply basically means they have infinite stamina and therefore can fight at the same pace indefinitely. Trying to outlast them is like trying to beat a car in a race on a bicycle. Even if both are going at the same speed, the simple fact is that one will eventually get tired and the other won't. That's why they were able to beat the Z fighters in the original time line. It wasn't just a power difference.
This is just speculation, but i think that 17's upgrades are slightly different, in what way im not sure, but like you mentioned, his genes mutate or evolve which causes him to age slower or even have infinite youth due to the fact that 18 looks noticeably older in GT while 17 does not.
Since doctor Gero could turn himself into an android I don't know why he didn't slowly upgrade himself along side his androids. At least if he was worried they'd turn against him.
This is just in my kind of head canon but I have a theory about why 17 and 18 are able to go toe to toe nearly God like beings and that would be what if they got an upgrade by cell by accident. Now hear me out as to why I believe this is the reason, let’s look at both androids biology they are technically, like you said, bio androids or cyborgs and cell, in his biology, has the genetic makeup to have both of them in his body so it will stand to reason why cell could absorb them and not android 16, who was pure machine, and not bio mechanical like 17 & 18 or even Android 21. Now let’s look at their power for example since they technically have near infinite stamina to last for a very long time impossibly evil doctor gave them an ability to self improve with time. Which is why they can last as long as they do against other powerful opponents if you look at the DBZ movie 13 Super Android 13 The main antagonist was able to quickly gain power fast to match all three super saiyans (Goku, Vegeta & Trunks) not to mention that super android 17 was able to match blow for blow with super Saiyan 4 Goku so we can also assume then maybe his sister android 18 can also have a super mode as well which I would love to see become canon in the dragon ball super series and even a return of Super Android 17 as well.
The very fact they have what must be a zero point energy system of some kind, and are limited strictly by bandwidth of power they can draw out at any given moment and don't have an exhaustible supply, if they learned to use that energy to store and control energy outside of their power supply, they could do some seriously broken things and start adding some serious digits to that exponent at the end of the multiplier. That's not even counting their bodies are still living and capable of growing also. 17 was way more powerful than 18 in the tournament mostly because he had a higher level of control. For example his "unbreakable" barriers were a demonstration of control at a higher level, and also by having that energy on the outside of himself, he was semi circumventing his major weakness, which isn't really that much of a weakness all things considered.
"If they trained, why doesn't their ki increase?" Maybe because they're training using their alternate energy form, which it makes sense their ki wouldn't increase, they're not using it, and they don't really need to train it. Maybe there is nothing stopping them from training it, however.
I wish they would have just had Goku gather all of the team in like an hour or 2 and had Whis train the team in an upgraded HBTC for a year then everyone's power would at least make sense. Instead, they had Goku, "the man who can teleport to anybodies ki in an instant," waste 40 hours trying to convince his literal friends and family to do the tournament with lies about money instead of just telling them what was at stake.
@kaienglish271 im not saying he did. My whole point is Goku spent nearly all of the 40 hours they had to prepare, trying to recruit the team for the tournament, which consists of all his friends who he should have been able to teleport to and get within minutes. 17 is the only person he couldn't teleport to but even still it shouldnt take him the whole 40 hours to find a recruit 17 to the team.
This video is a pretty moot point because Krillin wished 17 and 18 to become human again when he made his wish to the dragon at the end of the cell saga.

Okay, _this is why I hate the Androids._ The Term "Android" or "Cyborg" evokes an idea of being more machine than man - heck, the term Android is meant to mean that they never were human, nor organic in the first place. The name is supposed to make us think of the _Terminator -_ metal endoskeleton under living human tissue. As such, whenever there are machines, there are technological and even structural limits. It's why machines need to be replaced every few years or so; not just with newer models, but more the fact that the materials they're made from deteriorate. So now, after all these years, we find out that they aren't even androids _at all?_ I mean sure, they have _two_ mechanical parts in them, but that hardly qualifies as a _cyborg._ People who have been modified at the _cellular-level_ aren't machines; if anything, they're genetically-modified super-humans. So why even call them Androids at all? Admittedly, this actually goes better to explain why Cell absorbing them allows him to achieve his perfect form; I've even heard that somehow absorbing them fuses them into his body at a cellular level...still that doesn't explain how getting hit really hard causes him to vomit-up 18.
