Came here right after I read the comic. The author has a truly great understanding of Star Wars and made an amazing and emotional comic series, with an incredible finale. The payoff felt good, everything feels connected and I love it. Everything has a purpose in this comic. Star Wars at its best.
It's sad his life is fucked up made very wrong choices and I don't blame him but he is here now and can't take nothing back that's the sadest part and I wish he could find a way to go bak in time and make things right
The literary irony in the story is so beautiful. He became Vader to save the only person he "loved." He continues as Vader in order to bring her back, and when he finally reaches her, he realizes that she loves only what he was before. He became Vader to save her, but Vader is what killed her.
Damn thinking about with this way is quite sad, but yeah Anakin/Vader truly is a tragic figure in fact his character gives me a lot of Oedipus and Achilles vibes mixed in with a bit of Hamlet a true tragedy indeed.
That's why I was miffed with the 'lost the will to live' line in ROTS. Up until that line I thought Padme dying in childbirth (possibly because of what Anakin did to her) was going to be the full circle of the tragic irony of his dream. He became Vader to save Padme from the fate of his dream, but by trying to prevent it he only caused it. It's the only thing I can really criticise George for
I think that Anakin slaughtering the Jedi is a pretty good example of what he could have been if he didn’t suffer his injuries on Mustafara that red lighting looked amazing!
Force Lightning analysis: -Blue is commonly used by Sith and other Dark Side users -Purple is uncommonly sometimes used by some Sith -Red is rarely used by Darth Nihilus, Darth Tenobrous, Darth Vader and The Son
could have been both but im going with luke here since it says he doesnt knew the boy and vader didnt knew luke there so it makes more sence i think :) either way. i like to imagine that at the end of ROTJ that anakin & luke in kind a way fought together against vader and beat him :)
Looking back on the prequel and original trilogy, I think one thing can be said about Vader. Darth Vader was always just a shield for Anakin Skywalker. It was as much a mask as the one he wore to keep him alive. He could not face what he had done, and so it was easier to be someone else. The Emperor was the complete opposite, Palpatine was the mask, and Darth Sidious the truth. Looking at that, it is easy to see why Sidious was searching for a replacement for Vader. He could never be the true Sith that the Emperor required, but then again, perhaps that is why he kept Vader, confident that Vader would never take the final step and kill him, because if he did, then Vader would be truly alone.
I feel like everything Vader sees here is Entirely based on his perceptions of his life. Padme was never there at all, and her "killing herself" was Anakin *Knowing* that Padmé, even if she was brought back, would never Love Vader. These twisted visions showing the audience Anakin's mind. Not absolute Narrative truths. - Great Video! Love your recaps! :D
I think Padme's response was well-done. Vader said, "Anakin was weak. I killed him." Of course after her heartbreak and betrayal, she'd view Vader as someone she didn't know, for the man she loved was long gone, transformed into some sort of unrecognizable monstrosity.
I’m really hoping that the nightmare young Anakin of Darth Vader is an actual memory. Anakin would just think it was some scary monster, until years later. Then he would realize that he was the monster in his nightmares.
I wonder, does this prove Momin right? like when Mom used the portal he was able to get his body back, but when Vader used it he only got pain and suffering that he will always vader. As the difference between these two was that Momin gave himself to the darkside and served it with religious fervor while Vader and Sidious only sought to bend the darkside to their will. so like if Sidious use this portal would he have gotten what he wanted or would he have been tormented like Vader? So I guess serving the darkside is the only way to get what you wanted.
This is your best video thus far. Fitting, since this comic is one of the best new canon additions thus far. The music and sounds effects are amazing, you've really outdone yourself this time. Love you SW Theory, you're the sole spot of light in this time of darkness.
I find it interesting that he saw himself dueling Asoka... this had to happen before Rebels. Maybe that's what he met by "It was foretold that you would be here."
Gosh DANG! These comics are awesome! You can pinpoint the exact moment Anakin from the prequels dies and the OG Vader takes his place! This is the perfect transition! Thank you so much for uploading these videos!
This right here is some serious quality and understanding of the Star Wars universe. Tying everything (including the sequels) together perfectly. Amazing.
Damn Anakin/Vader even in the spirit world of the force still can't catch a break tbh works his ass off and kicking ass just too get too padme and then coming up short bye her doing what she did bye jumping off the balcony damn my main man Vader is just mint too suffer and sacrifice instead of having what he wants and be happy. Good God, this was amazing. We need more guys like Charles Soule writing comics and movies. Also, it’s hilarious that Charles used the “Let the past die” thing better than Rian did lol. Man, these comics are soooo good! I love it!
Regarding the Theories of either Obi Wan or Luke being this Jedi forcing Vader out of this realm, one thing does not make sense: Who besides Vader himself knew that he entered this realm, thus feeling the need to kick him out of it? What I really think it is, is the light side that is still in him, Anakin Skywalker, the identity he has killed and that represented the good in him, is now something he does not recognize any more. Now he is Vader through and through, at least he is certain of that now, but his light side is perhaps more powerful than he thinks. I’m also thinking of the Clone Wars episode where Yoda finds out about the dark side version of himself inside of him. He has to accept that fact and “give no power to it” for it to not have any control over Yoda. This could mean that Vader thinks Anakin is dead for real and does not see the good part in him that eventually forces him out of this realm. At least that is my theory.
You'd have no idea how many people in sithposting watched these movies, the scenes telling you "there was no father...", "...he was so wise he could use the force to convince the midichlorians to create life" and still only thought this was a theory until this comic
What you are doing is amazing. You provide us with top class videos and fanfiction stories, AND you are making a movie. I cannot stress enough how thankful I am to you-you have given us the star wars content we need, but not the one we deserve. Just.just thank you
When I read it I imagined it was Kylo's voice saying "let the past die", the portal seemed to show past and future events, very similar to the Worlds Between Worlds in Rebels. I missed the part where the Padmé demon strangled herself, very weird but cool... love the video!
This video gave me chills the entire way through, been watching since the first issue. Absolutely loved this series, thank you for bringing it to life!
I´d rather say that the scene where he finally "found" padme again, she was more like a mirrored image of anakin himself. the eyes: his eyes. and the lines "anakin skywalker is dead" are what he constantly said about himself when someone recognized him. cause after all, HE killed her, HE killed (or at least tried) to kill the old anakin. and last but not least the words "i dont know you". remember the scene on mustafar shortly before he choked her? so in short i think "she" is more of an mixed version of what he loved the most and his overwhelming guilt about what he had done to her and what he did in general to come to this point.
My favorite part is when Padme asks him: Are you an Angel? They are the most beautiful creatures in the universe. That is the first thing Anakin asked Padme upon meeting her.
3:18 You know who ELSE said that EXACT SAME LINE? Kylo... In Episode 8... Remember from the trailer? We were sho1wn him in the fighter with him saying: Let the past die.. Kill it if you have to... when we were lead to believe he was going to shoot Leia... REMEMBER??
This shit is just sad... But Anakin/Vader needed to realize that the choices he made in his life are permanent and no matter how powerful he is, he can't change it.
I like that the hand he got cut off in the last issue was Anakin’s cybernetic hand, and in this one he leaves it behind, thus in a way leaving behind Anakin.

It's interesting how there are fans of different generations who hate new Star Wars, original trilogy purists hate the prequels, now the prequel trilogy lovers hate the sequels. I think those visions that vader saw were portals leading to the past (like in rebels) thats why he can hear all those lines said in the prequels. But because the world between worlds allows you to see both ways he can also hear kylo say let the past die. The reason it looks so different to when Ezra entered it is because of his perception of the force. That's also why he see's palpatine and his mother. i have to admit, i started to tear up when i saw him with ahsoka, and then him against her. I had the biggest smile on my face the whole video. This was a big relief especially since i literally JUST finished an exam minutes before watching this video
I think the blonde kid with the lightsaber at the end was Luke. He appears as an overwhelming light to Vader. The light that will bring him back from the dark side.
This Vader comic has been so thrilling. We've seen him flying, controlling lava, and now this. Makes you understand JUST how powerful Vader truly was. Not far off from Sidious. Speaking of, I'm doing a Palpatine and the 48 Laws of Power 48 part series on my channel. Would LOVE if Star Wars Theory and the rest of you checked it out. May the Force be with You!
I am pretty sure this instance shows how powerful Vader would have been had he not been crippled. To suggest that even Sidious could defeat all Masters (he couldn't even really defeat Yoda alone by conventional means) is exaggerating Palpatine's powers.
@@MournfulDust well said! I really was referring to this overall arc and should've been more specific. No one could've defeated all of the Masters of course
@@theblackmandalorian Thanks, Sir! It's funny because i was thinking "hm, maybe i missunderstood that a bit and he was talking about the real Vader", because i feel like this whole scene was highly "metaphorical" (Sorry i'm no native speaker, i find it hard to express precisely what i mean).
@@MournfulDust Vader is more powerful due to his injuries. VADER COMPLETED HIS MEDITATION and opened his eyes. His pale, flame-savaged face stared back at him from out of the reflective black surface of his pressurized meditation chamber. Without the neural connection to his armor, he was conscious of the stumps of his legs, the ruin of his arm, the perpetual pain in his flesh. He welcomed it. Pain fed his hate, and hate fed his strength. Once, as a Jedi, he had meditated to find peace. Now he meditated to sharpen the edges of his anger. He stared at his reflection a long time. His injuries had deformed his body, left it a ruin, but they’d perfected his spirit, strengthening his connection to the Force. Suffering had birthed insight. -- Lords Of The Sith

I´d rather say that the scene where he finally "found" padme again, she was more like a mirrored image of anakin himself. the eyes: his eyes. and the lines "anakin skywalker is dead" are what he constantly said about himself when someone recognized him. cause after all, HE killed her, HE killed (or at least tried) to kill the old anakin. and last but not least the words "i dont know you". remember the scene on mustafar shortly before he choked her? so in short i think "she" is more of an mixed version of what he loved the most and his overwhelming guilt about what he had done to her and what he did in general to come to this point.

what an interesting video!!! Sidious.. really?! great work!!! Look forward to meeting you at the premiere! If for some reason I dont make it home on time.. may the force be with you
i have to admit, i started to tear up when i saw him with ahsoka, and then him against her. I had the biggest smile on my face the whole video. This was a big relief especially since i literally JUST finished an exam minutes before watching this video
Who would have ever thought that the conclusion to the long running Vader series would come out a day before your fan film! It's surreal!
*We got him, R2...*
I think the blonde kid with the lightsaber at the end was Luke. He appears as an overwhelming light to Vader. The light that will bring him back from the dark side.
One more day!!!!!
It’s so amazing to see how far you’ve come: just some descriptions, dictions, NOW A MOVIE! I’m very happy for you success and I am a long time fan
Oh I have a bad feeling about this
I like how his legs and arms were a light blue, whereas his torso and head was that red and black texture. Nice touch.
@@MournfulDust Your expression is just wonderful!

I love that this brings in so much from the movies and tv shows.
4:41 thats totally Luke.
Can't wait for the Fan film bro. So hyped!
I knew that Realm wasn't going to be the afterlife I think the vision of palpatine was to keep him on the dark side and it was fake vision.
I knew they'd make it dark...so much for Vaderdala out there
They Turned Her Against Him!!!🔥👊👍
but he did that himself
Maxusthebeast From a certain point of view lol
Nice to see Yarael Poof again, as well as Yadle
...It's Unfair!!!
I love that hint you gave about the fan film when you said "finishes the job" with respect to mace windu!
