Due to how little time I have to make video reviews (unfortunately), I typically only make reviews for properties that I like. There are tons of places I do not like nor recommend. Which typically gets communicated to my clients. I love Amankila (although GM just recently left to manage Amanzoe so who knows if Kila will still be the best in Bali). I've not been to Amandira in Ubud but don't have any plans to. It's a bit underwhelming. However, Amanjiwo in Java in high on my list. One of the most beloved Amans amongst my clients. The worst Aman I've been to was Amanfayun in Hangzhou, China. You couldn't pay me to return to it.
Much to like about this property but the addition of a pool would make it much more attractive to me. I also dislike the slanted light shades - not very Aman. I saw you recently visited Aman New York. What were your impressions?
Totally agree that a pool would really be a huge selling point. I think Cipriani (having a pool) continue to be special in Venice for that reason. Yes, I did go by Aman NY's office while I was in the city to visit but still no firm dates yet. They are more concerned about getting it right for opening than hitting deadline. That was the impression I received. If the finished product looks anything like the renderings, I think it's going to be in a league of its own in the city. But time will tell. I've been to Aman Tokyo 4 times. My first stay, didn't really enjoy it because it was my first experience with Aman's city hotel and it just didn't align with what Aman resorts are like. I've enjoyed my subsequent stays much more. So I think Aman NY is going to benefit a bit from Aman Tokyo having set the expectations for all Amanjunkies.
Having been twice, once when I was younger and didn't really appreciate the sites and once when I was 37 and could finally experience all it had to offer. First off it's beautiful and if you are interested in the sites its amazing! From my experience I went for 2 days and for me it was nearly too much. I managed to get all the sites seen in and all the attractions done in 2 days no problem. I found the city very very expensive for what it is and the standard not what I'd expected for the that cost. My overall review would be a 7 out of 10 and not to stay anymore that 2 days and shop around because there is good deals but need to be found in the streets off the main areas. Also tipping is included in the bill so don't tip extra as there is no need.
I would love to see a video of the aman resorts you are more critical of. Have you been to any of the resorts in Bali?

@@haotangwelp, you can always count on the Chinese to screw things up. And I’m Chinese.
Unreal -- Looking forward to booking a trip soon! Excellent video and information.
Can't wait for you to experience it!
Great review! Takes me back to last year. It’s one special property and that room is really worth it.
Thanks, mate! Indeed. Glad to know others who have stayed in the Tiepolo Suite agrees with me :)
