    That's not what she said. She said adding magnesium hydroxide to a strong acid forms a buffer. Magnesium hydroxide is a weak base, so when more acid is added it reacts with the hydroxide ions that haven't dissolved (this is why the solution is cloudy). The pH of the solution (and your stomach) will not change as more acid is added as the new hydrogen ions will react with the undissolved hydroxide ions.

    You add a base to an acid and it gets neutralized. It's not rocket science
