- In this episode of Monk, the brilliant and quirky detective Adrian Monk takes on a baffling case involving a billionaire mugger.
Season 1, Episode 7 "Mr. Monk and the Billionaire ": Sidney Teal appears to have it all: his own software company, billions of dollars, a beautiful wife, and a beautiful home. But all is not as it seems. One night, Sidney drives to a movie theater and waits in the shadows. A couple emerges from the theater, and when they pass, Sidney leaps out with a knife, snarling "Give me your wallet! Don't be a hero!" But Teal picked the wrong couple to mug: the man, Archie Modine, suddenly pulls a gun and shoots the billionaire dead. Due to the high-profile nature of the Teal case, Stottlemeyer wants to bring Monk in to help investigate. Right away, Monk has issues with the crime scene.

Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

I like Randy, they balance the slightly dopey side with the tough cop side by having him say something silly in one scene then be the first person to tackle a guy with a gun later on
2:34 best part about this is that he is an actor and acts his part, without anyone but Monk and Sharona knowing. The captain even commends him lmao
I love how monk values his friendship with Sharona. She's more than just his assistant or nurse she's there through everything with him.
She looked into the case even after she quit. She's gotta be able to pay her bills, but she values his friendship as well.

I loved Sharona and Monk's relationship. While I am a Natalie man through and through, I did really like the rapport they had: Bitty Schram deserved better pay... but also I am happy that we got Natalie. This was my favorite Sharona episode.

Man I really loved this show because it reminded me of my childhood. It was a live action cartoon minus the talking Great Dane and the stoner.
7:13 wait wtf, why is someone screaming "he's got a gun! Look out!" when they are already handcuffing the guy? Was that the actor being really bad at being an actor and delivering his "line" too late?

i think that was a move out of spite because if he had killed her there she would be “punished” by him because technically he planned the crime and did it, she could have just gotten out saying “i had no idea blah blah”. You understand what i mean?
