ok i have a 5.7 vortec with the longer crankshaft what do i need flexplate wise to adapt to 200r4?
That's not a thing...
Just bolt them together
@@TheDrivewayEngineer apparently the bolt pattern on 2 years is different from crankshaft to flywheel i have tried 350 and 400 flywheel neither line up?
There are different bolt patterns on flexplate, has nothing to do with length of the crank
Thanks for time sharing ur info
Thanks for watching!

What about mounting a ls up to a bop transmission?
Use a BOP/Chevy plate....
But it's way easier to just sell the BOP trans and use a Chevy one.
Can you do a manual transmission video?
Yes please!
I've done two now, more are coming
@@TheDrivewayEngineer can you do one on the NV4500? I can't find a thing on it
@@marvingreen6644 I saw the conversion flywheels what did you do
I want to ls swap my ford crown victoria with a 5.3 ls will it bolt up ? If not can you tell me what i need?
A welder and fab shop
What flywheel would I need for the 99 6.0 to fit my 01 4l60e? I was told my flywheel off my 5.3 will not work with my 6.0 being its got a longer crank
They don't bolt together without a custom converter last I knew.
Dang that sucks
Jesse Holland use an 80 lol that works fine
Really not trying to spend a couple hundred on swap parts..was gonna buy a cam lifters oil pump head gaskets an ARP bolts but now I'm jus gonna sell the motor an get a newer style one cause that's to much bullshit I got a perfect 4l60e been going for years no problem even on nitrous on last motor so I know its stougt transmission lolol jus trying to get more power an do a 6.0 swap
Jesse Holland yeah, punt it to someone else
Measurements are your friend.
I'm not saying this is in all cases, Sometimes you just trade the bell housing, flex plates and your done. If not listen to this guy, he knows his shit, only thing make some links in your vids to the parts with affiliate so you get something. Good work.
Will a 4l60e or the 4l80 torque converter work with a th350 transmission?
No
Ok. Thanks for the response ...
Hey JR, ive done this swap since 1st watching your video and learning how, thanks
so what do you do about your pcm trouble codes dealing with TCC? i ve got at least one maybe more transmission related codes
P0740,0758,0785, p1860, P1810
i did the LT1Swap harness and deleted all those wires but am i supposed to turn stuff off in the PCM as well? or just live with the codes hoping they dont affect the driveability somehow?
Set them to Do Not Report
I have a 2003 v6 that is gonna be swapped to 6.0 out of a 2006 Denali AWD would I need the spacer to use the v6 stock transmission idk what transmission was on the 6.0 it was already gone but could been a 80e
The input shaft is different on the V6, you'd be better off to start with a 5.3 trans.
Great video my man👍
Thank you!
Your welcome.

I have a 73 k10 I want to know if ls works with the original manual transmission?
It can
How would I go about fitting up the stock shift linkage on a 74 nova to a 4l60e
Lokar makes a column linkage kit, it's like ACA 1800 or something
The Driveway Engineer oh sweet thanks for the quick reply 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Can you bolt a gen1 4l60e too a ls?
Yes
I have a 93 c1500 that I want to drop a 5.3 into. Mating the two doesn’t look like it will be a problem, but can anyone explain to me what the next steps would be? Do I need a tcm to run the transmission? Or is there anything budget I can do?
If you use an LS 4l60 the whole thing just drops in.
Not really much communication between the 2 required
The Driveway Engineer I was hoping to use my original 1 piece 4l60e.
@@pegleg_rigo2464 yeah.
If you buy some extra crap you can.
Or you can just use an LS 4l60 that bolts in and the PCM runs it
Do you tune your own stuff? Could you make a video on how to do the tune for your what to buy for $700 video? Really it's the only thing holding us old hold over mechanics from doing something like that! We just don't get how to tune. Thanks bud! Love your vids!
I have an older video, but honestly it's crap. And I've been drawing a blank on what to do this week, this is what I was considering.
There's no way to keep the length down, my analytics show people tune out after about 9 minutes regardless of topics, but I'll probably do at least the basics to get people started anyway.
Sounds like those people have a personal attention issue. I have watched your older video. Thanks for that. If you choose not too, I understand. Thanks again.
I've kind of decided for this season to get my truck on the road NA and do videos on the whole process for people following along, I'd like to show people a little more how to, so that will be coming in a month to six weeks now that the weather is breaking
Oh and by the way. You are a damn well of knowledge. Freaks me out!
Lol, well I research these ahead of time too
Are there any 4.3 v6 options available, are they the same kool thanks, I’m getting a 2007 I Believe , it might be a 2002 , what ever it is its in a pick up truck, ok kool thanks praise Jesus grace Christ amen 🙏 BigAl California.
I want to put an LS to a Ford Top Loader
Question i just pulled a 2 piece 4L60E from 2001 van with 350 engine now what do i need to adapt this to my ls series 5.3 engine. I have installed a bigger cam, springs & flat top pistons engine is an 01. Do i need just the spacer for it with ls dished flex plate and do they make an stall that i can use for i will need a 2800 to 3200 stall i believe. Any info greatly appreciated
Use a normal Gen 1 converter, flat flexplate and spacer
@@TheDrivewayEngineer so the 6.0 flex plate and spacer
@@TheDrivewayEngineer guess i should say the 4l60e is the 298mm torque converter so i have to use ls flat flex plate and the bigger spacer not the sleeve.
@@ralphhuff4977 yes, the 6.0 stuff
@@TheDrivewayEngineer does spacer go on before flywheel are after
Hey man thanks for the video....learned alot.....I have a question.....I have a BOP th400 that I want to bolt up to a 99 LS1 out of a Corvette. Could you please tell me what I would need to bolt these 2 items with one another. Thank you
A normal Chevy to BOP plate would work, but it would be simpler to buy a Chevy one and just use the converter spacer, and sell your BOP one.
ls4 that is

Too long winded

@@TheDrivewayEngineer you can’t please everyone, huh? 🤣
Lol, spend the whole video plugging urself.
Yeah, all those products I sell 😂
@@TheDrivewayEngineer thanks for the info im having trouble with the 4l80e I have a flat flex plate but my aftermarket converter snout is to long the converter pads don't touch. I think summit sold me the wrong converter.
So I just got my adapter to match the snout on my TH350 to my 5.3 but now I have another question. My 5.3 is DBW and my TH350 has a tv cable so how would I go about adapting them together? Do I need to go from DBW to DBC for the throttle body? Or should I just go with a 4L60E? My TH350 was running perfectly before I pulled the 350SBC and wouldn't need to get a new drive shaft made.
It's not a TV cable, it's just a kickdown cable.
You can disconnect it and plug the hole, or leave it flopping.
Switching to DBC will be expensive and still require an expensive adapter. Just downshift it manually.
@@TheDrivewayEngineer got ya. Thank you for the information. I was considering going with the 4L60E but why do that when my TH350 only has 5K miles since the rebuild. I'll be doing what you recommended and hopefully the rest of it goes well.
I want to bolt a 5.3 to a 4l60e out of a 96 V6 Camaro. Is this possible? What would it require?
No
I have a 5.3 engine s10 swap from an 02 tahoe im gonna use the 00 v6 4l60e out of from an s10 wich spacer do I need? The one that looks like the ring or the other one?
You need a V8 transmission, or more parts than a V8 transmission costs
