- I replaced a rusty Parking Brake Cable Lever on a 2008 Toyota Tundra. I removed the old rusty nuts and bolts, then replaced them with stainless ones that I got from a local hardware store.
This replacement process is also applicable on the Tundra's from 2007-2021.

Thank you VERY much for posting this video! My 2007 Tundra has had a crappy parking brake engagement since the day it was new. I finally found a great tutorial on how to properly adjust it, but without replacing the lever that you show here, I don't think all the adjusting of the shoes at the drum would have mattered one bit. My lever looked about as rusted as the one in your video, but luckily...with a lot of patience and PB Blaster, I was able to turn the two mounting bolts out. Posting the link to the lever from Amazon was a real time saver for me too, as I probably would have been hunting for quite some time to find it online. So THANK YOU again, sir!
Thanks for watching! I'm happy you found this video helpful. Yea, unfortunately alot of tundra's suffer from rust on this lever, and you essentially lose the parking brake function if it's not replaced, just like you stated.
ha this is exactly how my 2014 lever looks. need to replace and now i know. thanks for posting!
By chance do you remember the bolt sizes you replaced from the hardware store? M6x1 maybe? Hard to find. But thank you for the video. Need to do my 13'
Video helped, I sprayed the lever with Rust-Oleum rust removal gel 3 times and pulled lever both ways and worked it loose.
nice! yea, mine was rusted way too much.
Hey good job
Much respect!

What size wrench to remove bolts
I sprayed PB Blaster everyday for a week
I'm not sure. Mine was so rusty I couldn't get to identify the correct size nut.
