    Are there any elliptical desk options available?
    Love your videos! Keep up the good work. Already bought the Kensington Pro and the travel mouse you recommended in your other video.

      Oh fantastic! I hope you like them! I wouldn't recommend an elliptical desk. I've actually used one, as well as an under-desk bike, and a mini-stepper. I've been on the hunt for the perfect fitness desk since 2016. The problem with ellipticals and bikes is that you have to mentally engage them, rather than simply keep up, so it causes distraction. What usually happens is that when you're focused, you're not engaging the device; and when you're engaging the device, you're less focused. Treadmills are auto-pilot, so it helps occupy that motor part without requiring concentration. The only exception I'll make to this rule is the Xiser Pro Trainer. If you click the link in the description, scroll down and expand the hidden section, there's a lot about the Xiser. It's an invincible device, really good for forever-use, very compact and portable, etc. The reason I except it is that there's enough in sort of the downward fall in its activation that it's like "half automated". It distracts significantly less than a bike / elliptical, but more than a treadmill. The biggest downside is that it's not optimal for knee-health for very prolonged use. So if you plan on doing 4hours or less per day, Xiser is a very viable option.

    Thank you for this video! I purchased this treadmill a couple of weeks ago and I love it! It really is worth the extra $. I do have one question though. The manual says the deck comes factory lubricated however I don't feel like it is. The deck or belt don't feel waxy. Did you have to lube yours out of the box?

    • @lefnire
      @lefnire  2 місяці тому +2

      Just lube it if you're worried. I lube mine every week anyway (every 50 hours recommended, and I do that weekly) so there's no harm in doubling the first go. In fact, as far as I know there's no harm in over-lubing whatsoever; they recommend the minimum case because it's an inconvenience to do. It's worse to under-lube, that can degrade the treadmill. I have another video on lubing in case it's helpful.

    • @gamerdxtom8324
      @gamerdxtom8324 27 днів тому

      @@lefnire When you said you lube your treadmill every week How much lube would you use? Based on your video on lubing, do you use the same amount or less when relubing? And would you still zig-zag the whole area of the treadmill or maybe just basically squirt in a straight line underneath the belt?
      Thank you for this informative video!

    • @lefnire
      @lefnire  26 днів тому

      @@gamerdxtom8324 I do around 75% of the syringe in one session. Definitely zig-zag, not straight line. The ideal is that the entire surface of the walking pad gets a really thin sheet of lube; but since that's impossible, the next best is a zig zag; then run it without walking; then walk. The combo spreads it out as best as possible.

    Hi ... I'm from the UK and I'm trying to decide what under desk treadmill to purchase. I've come across your very helpful reddit articles, but the problem I'm facing is that the 2 treadmills you most recommend, the egofit m2 and the inclined version of Urevo arent readily available for some reason here in the UK, only the egofit m1 and non incline models of Urevo on Amazon UK appear to be available, as well as The Go Youth, albeit no incline on that one. What would be your recommendations as the 2 you most recommend i just can't find online in the UK. Many thanks.

      How about "Urevo S2 Lite"? (look it up on Urevo's website to know what the photos should look like on Amazon). If no, then uh... I'm not sure, kinda tie between Egofit M1 and GoYouth.

      See if you can get the Urevo 2S Lite, very neck-to-neck with the Egofit M2. If you can't get 2S Lite, try (in order): 3S, Spacewalk E3, Spacewalk E5. The Urevos are fantastic runners-up to Egofit, and I've heard most of them are available in Europe (likely through Amazon)

    Earthing a.k.a. grounding is also a good idea for health and to minimize the static charge, Probably better than an ESD wrist strap, at least from a health perspective.

      I don't know about this. What is it?

    • @chisaomusician7752
      @chisaomusician7752 Місяць тому

      @@lefnire I don't know why my comment was deleted. Earthing is basically an ESD connection that goes either directly into the dirt or the connected to the grounding line of the building. It empirically reduces the base voltage of the body, which happens normally when your feet are directly touching the earth without insulation.

      @@lefnire Yeah! If you decide on using a outlet ground make sure to test that it is grounding properly and it's a good idea to buy a saftey pass through, which can be found online.

    2 months later, is it still running well?

    • @lefnire
      @lefnire  23 дні тому

      Yeah. I'm not using it every day, because I'm exploring other options to review (I'm leaning really heavily into Urevo, since they're cheaper and I'd feel better recommending a cheaper, but equivalent product). There is one hitch with Egofit: pet hair. I don't know what it is about the structure of intake to the motor, but it clogs with hair and dust fairly easily, so you have to take off the face plate and vacuum / clean out all hair and debris. It manifests as jerky motions when it gets clogged up. I haven't experienced this with my other treadmills, so it's worth noting.

    As a person with ADHD too , before finishing the video I have to say that most probably the shoes you are using caused the knee problems and not the lack of inclination. Without saying that you are about the benefits of 3%.

    • @lefnire
      @lefnire  2 місяці тому +1

      Are you referring to the grey slippers? I just threw those on quickly to record the video. I only ever use Hoka Clifton when working and walking. If you don't like Hoka Clifton, I'll fight you. Due to the raw volume of walking, you want everything dialed: good shoes, the right incline, and the treadmill to have as much shock absorption as possible. Then when you're done walking, sit (don't stand) to let the knees heal.

    • @antoniskaloterakis7996

      @@lefnire yes those. Right after i wrote the comment I saw the shoes , they sram decent . I am on a low budget and also a woodworker and I will build a wooden treadmill . The benefit will be that i can adjust the speed in the fly just by walking and it will be cheaper . I dint know about the sound , no motor sound but the wood will bang on the bearings.. I believe it will fix my adhd too. Less pomodoro breaks.
      I recently made a reflex ball ( a tennis ball tied on a hat with a rubber thread, doing shadow boxing) and it is really amusing and dopaminergic on the pomodoro breaks.
