ok, this is great. Except my issue is that the COMPUTE function is excluding a case from the index if any one item among the scale items is missing. It will exclude the entire case from the calculation of the index so the number of valid cases is small. Anybody know how to fix this?
Hi, I'm new in developing an index.. My proposed resesrch is on Developing an index from a secondary global data set available.. I'd like to know the basics on how to develop an index out from the available dataset.. I hope I make sense.
An interesting presentation. My only concern is how you still copied the categorical scale and pasted them in the index values when the index will not be in a scale (Strongly Agree to Disagree). I though the index should give you a single average value per participants so why the scale again.
This was very helpful. Thank you! Index part starts right around 9:00.
Thank you so much! You are an amazing teacher. I will be doing this on Stata but this should help immensely
This is very very helpful. Thank You so much
Well done 👏👏👏

Thank you for your video. How about for yes or no variable? Is there a need to first change the variable to scale before analysis?
send the link how to make recorded variable ? which is replace the variable in re-run the Cronbach's Alpha test?

IS THERE A PROBLEM TO DO THIS WITH MISSING VALUES?
The decoded variable is the same one you deleted? Or it is another separate variable?
Very helpful video! thank you soo much for your effort.

Thanks this helped me today
Very helpful video! Thanks a lot! 🥰
The Categories for the Index cannot be the same as the Categories of its items, as the Index is now a mean with no integer values
Thank you for this video :)
