  • Paul McCartney at Dodger Stadium. 15 minutes of the encore with Ringo Starr & Joe Walsh joining in. Ringo plays drums on Sgt. Peppers & Helter Skelter and Joe Walsh plays during Carry that Weight and The End. There's a good scan of the whole audience right at the end of the video.

When I went to visit my sister, many years ago -she bought tickets to see Ringo in Reno. Nevada and it was a very enjoyable show.
The hall wasn;t too big so the visability of the band and sound were very good. A few years later I saw Paul at Earls Court in London.
It was a last minute thing but I was still in a very good seat. While Ringo did not have the expanse and histrionics of Paul - his show was very good. Though PM completely blew my mind. Growing up in the 50's and 60's The Beatles were my gods. To hear those songs played so faithfully to the recordings was absolute magic.

It was the last show of the Freshen Up Tour and Paul and the band were on fire. The video doesn't do the experience justice You really did have to be there to get the full throttle. Saw Paul & his band during this tour on the other coast (Boston). Sadly, no Ringo -- but he still had a huge surprise up his sleeve. Join him for the encore was none other than the ex-Grateful Dead guitarist, Bob Weir.

Listen, I ADORE Paul McCartney, he is my favorite songwriter, singer, and bassist of all time. But the classical masters of old wrote complex musical equations for entire orchestras-whole symphonies of sounds and 3+ hour operas laid down using only ink quills and parchment. Paul has the rare effortless melodic gift that Mozart & Tchaikovsky had, but he’s not superior to them. It’s okay to love Paul without undermining the vast talents of those who came before :)

This is a cellphone video shot from the upper deck of Dodger stadium by an old guy and his wife enjoying a warm summer night with Paul McCartney and a several thousand fans. I felt like sharing the experience, and have been amazed by all the views and comments of people that enjoyed it. Sometimes you just gotta take things for what they are. Even though this is far from great quality, most of us enjoy it. Every once in a while I rewatch it my self, and it really brings back great memories of that awesome evening!

It would be cool to see the last remaining Beatles and the last remaining rolling stones on stage all together but that would never happen due to Mick jagger fat ego

God bless Paul for trying, but his voice has been going for the last 10yrs. He should be doing other beatle songs that are not so harsh on his voice. He's going to be 80 next year!

I wish they would not have chosen Sgt. Pepper as the song to do. They ARE NOT Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Only the original four are. It's almost like that song is sacred, and they tread on sacred ground with substitutes. Maybe George and John wouldn't mind, but it just doesn't sit well with me.

I thought it was appropriate at the time because after over 2 hours of music, out walks Ringo Starr and they start playing Sgt. Peppers. The crowd went CRAZY! Then they built the encore up into a CRESENDO! What a night!

To Lucy - so in that case we’d not have heard much of The Beatles’ catalogue live on stage from Paul, after 1980. He’s helped keep great memories of the band endure, for decades, introducing new generations to the music of The Beatles. It’s not his fault, that two of them are sadly no longer with us. I think he deserves a bit of love is all you need, actually.

Paul McCartney wrote it. And though (like all songs they wrote when the Beatles were together) it's credited as Lennon/McCartney, this one is really all Paul. And Lennon was not all that into the "band witnin a band" concept behind the album, and Harrison even less so. The group dynamic was already breaking down from what it had been during Revolver or Rubber Soul. The individual Beatles were already starting to branch off in their different creative directions. This song is McCartney's If anyone has the right to decide when and how to perform it, it's him.

@@Hibernicus1968 Yes, exactly. Paul also played the lead guitar solo, rhythm guitar and overdubbed John’s bass playing, on that track.

I think it's fine that he does it, esp with Ringo. After all, he did write it. With that said, I don't think he ought to do one's primarily written by John. Or George for that matter. I do know that if I was there I'd be as happy as pigs in shit, to hear Sgt. Pepper, Helter Skelter and Golden Slumbers live.

Seems like they couldn’t trust ringo to play the drums on his own….Paul done a good job of shouting rather than singing….murdered a few good songs, what was once great has had to give way to Father Time, as the Beatles once said you should just let it be…..dreadful noise, I’ve been to some great shows and some duff ones, I’ve been drunk, I’ve been sober but nothing would have got me thru this mush mash of loud, out of synch, badly mixed delirium
