    CHANNEL OPEN:
So yea, I reuploaded this video to avoid the copyright claim CBS levied against me for certain footage in it. I disputed the claim through the UA-cam channels, but CBS denied me again.
With that in mind, I decided to re-edit the video and upload it again. Yes, this is so I can monetize it. I do this stuff as a passion of mine, not for the money. However, I'm not rich or am I that well off. So to deny me a potential revenue stream based off of a dispute regarding 45-second clips...just seems stupid to me.
Alas, here we are. Sorry for any inconvenience.
    LLAP.

Ketwolski first let me say that CBS has turned into butt heads. But secondly if you read DC comics, the Mirror Universe seems at like Earth-3. Good will never succeed because it can't. So if the Empire turns from its evil ways, some other evil force will rise to take its place. That is the nature of the Mirror Universe.

Suggested Premise: In the Mirror Universe (one or more of the Mirror Universes), the Borg are good guys.
"We are the Borg. We have scanned your vessel and determined that your systems are failing.
    May we be of assistance."
Instead of conquering, or destroying, and forcibly assimilating cultures and individuals,
assimilation is voluntary, and in fact not always granted, even when requested.
So the mass-psychology of the Borg is not made up of victims-become-victimizers.
Individuals could emerge re-assimilate in a way analogous to the emergence and re-assimilation of the changelings,
Gaining the advantages of the collective, but retaining individuality.
Such good-guy Borg would be appalled at the very idea of forced assimilation,
and would see it as having "potentially disastrous" results.
    Thoughts?

    • @Ketwolski
      @Ketwolski  6 років тому +17

If you removed the idea of a 'shared consciousness' you pretty much just described the UFP lol :P
But really, I like the idea. Being cut off from the Great Link was a big deal for the changelings, so I would imagine being removed from the collective would have the same consequences...I really like this idea a lot.
I might make a video out of it now :P

    • @Jake-co7rt
      @Jake-co7rt 6 років тому +13

That would be cool! I hope you do, and I'll look forward to seeing it.
I always thought a true "mirror" universe should balance out better.
Instead it's one mostly evil universe, and one really much worse, almost totally evil one.
Not suggesting that reality (or multiple realities) actually would balance.
But for story-telling, I like the idea of at least one of the big baddies getting mirrored the same way the UFP was.
      Have fun.

    • @Jake-co7rt
      @Jake-co7rt 6 років тому +3

I'm sure I'm not the first, but...
At some point, the thought occurred that the Mirror Mirror universe might be the result of the saving of Edith Keeler (and the disastrous resulting WWII outcome) in the earlier OS episode, City on the Edge of Forever.
      Is this a common interpretation?
Are there large holes in this hypothesis?
It might put the kibosh on my nice-guy alternate borg, but then again, once time-travel is introduced to a universe...

I like the recent STNG comics where, in the 24th century, the Terran Empire has lost almost all of its territory to the Klingon Cardassian alliance but they are not able to penetrate the defenses around the Sol system and decide it is better to box them in. The Terrans decide to put all of there last resources into building the Galaxy class dreadnought ISS Enterprise-D, under the command of Captain Jellico, which Picard captain of the ISS Starkiller decides to steal. Plus you get to see Picard space Jellico when he steals the Enterprise which is pretty cool. I'm hoping they release more soon. Although I think it's weird they use the version of the future Enterprise from All Good Things.

Fifty aisles and they didn't just sell food either. You could buy tires for your car and even gold fish in little plastic boxes right there on the shelves.
Do they still have " Alpha Beta " stores in the alternate timelines?
Will Earl Scheib still paint any car for just $19.95?

Makes one wonder if Adm Cartwright from ST:VI was from the Empire. His remarks about Klingons becoming the alien 'trash' of the galaxy would seem to be in line with how the Terran Empire felt about alien races, especially the Klingons. He was also pushing for war and even trying to create one. It's interesting to contemplate how many Terrans from the mirror universe have infiltrated the Federation over the years.

Worst thing DS9 did was reintroducing the mirror universe as a weak pathetic opposite of what it was in TOS Mirror Mirror. I actually enjoy seeing the mirror universe being the corrupt evil self or opposite of the Federation. I enjoyed watching TOS "Mirror Mirror" and ENT "In a Mirror, Darkly" more so than any of DS9's episodes. What made TOS & ENT episodes more fascinating is that humans as a species can be overly kind and righteous or the completely evil and barbaric, as seen throughout our own history.
One of my favourite Star Trek TNG novel's was "Dark Mirror" which is about the Terran Empire trying to invade the Prime Universe.

In my mind, there is a fourth version of the mirror universe. After 2063 first contact, the Romulans did not invade and the empire continue to expand after they found the Defiant in 2155 . Then the empire came in contact with the Romulans .Instead of a war like in the prime universe , the Romulans and the Terrans join together and formed an alliance and defeated the Klingons and Cardassians.

The mirror universe opens up many fan fiction stories, I think. For instance:
"Personal log. I don't know why I'm bothering with this since I never did before. Not exactly my style. It's been two years since Bailey disappeared. Or ran away - take your pick. And a year since the Fesarius was destroyed taking that ridiculous excuse for a supreme commander with it. I now own and command a wreck from the 22nd century continuing Bailey's hopeless quest without reason, abandoning my own senses and I honestly don't know why other than maybe I hate the empire that failed to see my intellectual superiority. The same superiority that failed to spot the protocol that had me arrested in the first place. Doesn't make sense does it? Slave, delete log!"

St . Clair McIntyre. That is 100% correct. It was the portion of Ellison's script for City that GR and Fontana totally removed from the original script that would have required a two part episode. Since GR had already produced a two parter that season to use his Cage pilot, he had to shorten Ellison's script by just saying the Enterprise wasn't there anymore. Actually a much tighter and better story resulted in my opinion.
They recycled that Ellison idea in Mirror Mirror without bothering to produce exposition, only showing the anti utopian result.
Everything else done in later decades to visit the Terran Empire has been fan service. Like Trials and Tribulations. It was a fun story, but pretty much just fan service.

FT Sims_Designs. Oh another little thing the dynamic duo removed from Ellison's City. Bones didn't inject himself and go back in time, and they weren't there to study space anomalies. Spock was leading down a *firing squad* to the planet to execute a lieutenant that had been convicted of murdering a crewman in a *drug deal gone bad* . YEAH! Really. The convicted murderer jumped back and changed the past.

You know I think it would be cool for book series, and even tv series or movies if Star Trek applied what the Comic book industry has, allowing for alternate possibilities.. Like Star Trek book takes place is Mirrorverse 172B... It would take the Star Trek universe and allow a virtually unlimited source for stories... I think a cool one for example would be where Section 31 in Starfleet takes on a much more active role similar to the Romulans intelligence agency.

I love it; however it's still nothing like the non-canon role play group TESA (Terran Empire Sim Association) of which I was a member. Founded 1998 and survived until ca. 2004 - 2005 (corresponding to Trek timeline of 2375 [debut of Insurrection] to 2381 - 2382 [2 or 3 years post-Voyager season 7 end]). Loosely based on TOS episode "Mirror, Mirror" (TOS season 2 episode 4; first aired 6 October 1967) and TNG novel "Dark Mirror" (Diane Duane, pub. 1994). The divergence between universes takes place in Dallas, TX on 22 November 1963 when a Time Traveler named Lieutenant Oberon, disguised as Lee Harvey Oswald, attempts to assassinate President Kennedy from the 6th floor of the Dallas Book Depository Building but misses and instead kills Jacqueline Kennedy. JFK subsequently finds out that Oberon/Oswald is a Soviet agent and orders a surprise nuclear first strike on the USSR. The Soviets surrender, ending the Arms Race. Kennedy urges the advancement of space exploration so that by the end of the 20th Century Earth is a spacefaring planet. During the 1990s the Eugenics Wars take place, with 4 leaders eventually dividing Earth up between them. The strongest one, Khan Noonien Singh, eventually eliminates his rivals and becomes first Terran Emperor. The Klingon Empire is conquered and enslaved. By around the time (a few years after the events) of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (i.e. somewhere after 2295) the Empire conquers the Romulans as well. Most Romulans commit mass ritual suicide; the few who do not take part in a mass diaspora and are considered renegades (Timeline of ISS Wraith, set after Star Trek VI, ca. 2295 - 2299).

Eric Koenig I played in a Starfleet rpg for years and we kicked around the idea to gradually intro the MU into the world, but our rules and regulations board members thought some would go too far into left field and ruin planned out missions. We couldn't even agree on introducing a separate Klingon rpg group to let players be Klingons from the Empire side of things! I was active in the group about 10 yrs and I've not found one yet as great as SFC was, before the rules dragged all the fun out of it. We were based in TOS and TOS film era, then NG/DS9/VOY.
      Do you miss the group?

Sometime during the Terran revolt in the Deep Space 9 Mirror Universe, the race of the Known Space begin to have an encounter with the major power of the Gamma Quadrant the Dominion. The Dominion had assumed that the major powers of Known Space were easy to conquer. Yet, the Dominion quickly learns that they have literally underestimate the races of Known Space.
Known Space is a term for the known areas of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Earth is at the Center of Known Space. Sometime during the Dominion War, the wormhole between the Alpha and Gamma Quadrants appears. For the Alliance, the wormhole is a mix blessing. Ironic the Dominion is not aware of the Wormhole existence until the Alliance launches an all out invasion to the Dominion space through the wormhole. Oddly, a new power helps the Alliance to defeat the Dominion.

I wonder how things really went when Cochran gunned down the Vulcan captain in front of Picard, Riker, LaForge, Troi, and Barclay with the engineering team lol. If they would take possession of the Enterprise E... eek. I'm a cynical jerk but, will always give ST a pass on things like this. No other franchise can even dream of touching ST!

I like the dark universe as it fits the mirror aspect better, the prime Kirk still inspired mirror Spock but due to the nature of the mirror universe he never got to achieve his goals. I also like the idea of evil next gen (I know of one book and I really liked the evil versions of them and wish that we could have seen them on the show) and the threat of a multiverse threat against the federation where it has to fight itself. It will be interesting to see what the show discovery does with the mirror universe and if now that means that there are 4 mirrorverses. Also there's a video game set in the mirror universe with sulo and the excelsior which I quite liked where they help the rebellion.

There's one problem with this video, is there's only one USS Defiant ship from the prime Universe, that shifted to a Mirror Universe. So Two of the Mirror Universes didn't have the encounter with the Prime Universe Defiant . Unless there's an Expiation for that!

These are fascinating counterfactual versions of the known version of star fleet history! however I'd love to know when the Mirror universes diverged from the prime universe! we know that Shakespeare is the same in the prime universe but it would appear that some forerunner to the terran empire existed as far back as at least the 19th century and we see a terran astronaut planting the terran flag on the moon in what we must assume is the 20th century but that means there's an entirely different terran 20th century where events would have played out very differently, like was there something akin to the cold war was there a WW2 are the terrans affiliated with the Nazi's did the united states ever exist in this timeline etc
