Is so frustrating that the DevEco Studio is able only for Windows, Mac in x86 and even also for Mac in ARM, but NOT in GNU/Linux.
Do they really has a large quantity of Mac users that develops apps for HarmonyOS to justify that version?
Don't they think that should be more GNU/Linux users willing to develop apps for HarmonyOS that Mac?
That kind of things make me feel deeply disappointed of the decisions made for Huawei.
    What should we do?
Beg and kneel to get a version for GNU/Linux?
What about the other countries with USA sanctions to use their products?
They will also be unable to develop for this platform even if they want? (unless they be a kind of second class citizen using their own tools or emulating/virtualize)
I feel deeply despised, as if they were spitting in our face.

But you forget about incoming future OpenHarmony based desktop PCs. Linux has fundamental issues. Love Linux, but I hate the interoperability of it, the lack of standardisation at the core on app stack on lack of unified binary, unified app file format, lack of unified development, OTA stack, for open source dev, very mosaic, great for others, other uses than general purposes. Let's keep it real

@@livinginharmony360 I don't know, seems that Valve has not problem at all with Steam in Linux and even they are able to distribute games, that can run without care on which distribution are running.
By other side if the problem is the packaging system, just package it for only one distribution (such as Debian) and everyone else will be able to repackage that package to make it available in any other GNU/Linux distribution.
There are even utilities to rebuild apps .deb to .rpm to other packages systems. That has never been a problem.
The point is at least offer one binary for Linux.
I still feel that is not a valid excuse to ignore completely GNU/Linux at all.
Even more when IntelliJ IDEA (which is the base IDE) is capable with Linux.
P.S: IntelliJ IDEA has just a binary inside a .tar.gz that works in any GNU/Linux distribution without any problem.

@@Ateshtesh There's an even better packaging standard aimed at fixing the compatibility issues - Flatpak

@@handicraftsman3511 how many mosaic distros and branches using Flatpak standard. You can only duplicate, add packages, where vendors, developers are at war constantly. That is a problem where it cannot be fixed like that.

@@Ateshtesh Proton is great but it's not a fix, until that translate to native Linux adaptations of games rather than left in a compatibility layer from Windows side and this is just the gaming part, which is long way to go when it comes to other segment of comprehensive personal computing. Linux is popular in server, developer is large but general purpose computing is not mainstream and won't be for a while until basic fundamentals of hardware drivers and comprehensive connectivity stack built in for easy plug and play, unified binary applications, unified app package across distros and stores, unified development for programming these programs and games, unified OTA base stack for software update consistency and SDKs with app developers up to date in their apps in each latest versions security wise, in major, mini and security patch update yearly cycles, OOBE experience, comprehensive audio +video stack, standardised Mesa graphic driver and Vulkan graphics technologies at bare metal level with rich accessible graphics libraries, accessible rich fancy developer tools and software suites etc. General purpose is the big fish where people use their computing for more than one thing, more than using it on server development only, but also multipurpose uses with general purpose computing that includes office/business productivity and gaming with it, that does not challenge Windows with Linux. OpenHarmony does challenge it. I don't want to use Linux to program. It should be OS to OS development, optimised and tight integration at vertical integrated level
