People have been questioning Luka and the Mavs for years now, because they simply underestimate Luka. "Oh Luka is a liability on defense, he'll never get far." ... "Oh Kyrie is weak on defense & plays the same style of ball as Luka, no way they can co-exist." Now they're saying, "Klay is washed, he can't play defense, you can't put him on the floor with Luka & Kyrie." It's honestly hilarious at this point.
Luka is a top 5 player in the NBA. When healthy, nobody can stop him. He gonna get 35-9-9 whenever he wants. What people seem to overlook is just how much attention he draws, how high his basketball IQ is, and just how many open looks he generates for his teammates. Now you add arguably one of the best off-the-ball shooters to ever step foot on the court to catch to shoot said open looks.
I also want to bring up that Klay is replacing THJ. Naji is replacing DJJ. Grimes is replacing Josh Green. All three of those are clear upgrades, on both ends of the floor. Grimes is a plus defender not afraid to shoot 3s, and he shot 38% his first two seasons before having an off season this past year with injury & trade. Naji shot 39% last season, and we know what Klay can do. The reason the Mavs lost the finals was because they couldn't make their 3s allowing the Cs to sag off & help. You properly space the floor so Luka/Gaff or Liv can run their pick & roll, it's a whole diff animal.
Add that lively and Hardy are probably gonna get a huge improvement. Made the finals. Got playoff experience. Mavs are fs banking on some mavs' youth to rise as well. And shout out Omax.
Klay decided to choose the Mavericks because of the chance to find joy in playing basketball without the pressure of playing at the Warriors and the Lakers. Kaly knew if he chooses the Lakers, and it did not work out well it would be his fault not Lebron's. Kyrie convinced Klay that the Mavericks are a family where there no pressure, if anything any failure is taken by Luka as his fault.

When I heard Klay stopped following the warriors. I told everyone that the Mavs better do whatever to get him. And they did it. It's exactly what Mavs needed. They just need Klay to average atleast 15 pts a game and that helps alot. And gives me more hope that they can win it all 2025. They just didn't have the fire power to keep up with the Celtics.

This is not deadly. What a ridiculous title to your video. Klay Thompson will help a little . But Thompson is past his prime. And Dallas needs other players on their team to step up to be title contenders again.
We all need to pump the brakes a bit with the Klay hype. Sure he'll be a good fit in Dallas. But at the moment he's a decent role player and not a superstar that everyone is making him out to be. Lets wait for him to settle in then judge his fit with the mavs. By the way I'm a mavs fan.

Saying it’s not possible is wild lol a healthy Luka makes a big difference and the way kyrie played in games 1,2,&5 vs games 3 & 4 makes it pretty clear that he has a weird mental block playing in Boston that he needs to figure out but they made it to the finals and just got better. Celtics definitely still deserve to be faves but the competition will close the gap both in the East and in the Finals series
you can’t count on other East teams to be injured like that again so you’ll play more games and show up to the Finals in worse shape and more tired…no matter how much depth you have, the Knicks, 76ers, Bucks and Pacers will all make life harder next year…
Plus Horford is another year older and, at 38-39, might struggle or get injured if he has to play big minutes again in KP’s absence…I’m not wishing anyone bad luck but look at Denver this year, injuries do play as much of a role as talent

@@Red4350 he shot 38% on open 3 pointers. He’s not what he used to be to be. Mavs play a 5 out offense with a ball dominant Luka. In golden state they were running pindowns, flare screens, etc. it was a motion fast paced offense and same with Indiana they also run a fast paced offense with Halliburton

Warriors won their 4 championship with Klay. When Klay was down, curry did not won any championship for 2 years without Klay. Don't be bitter with Klay, he is the most humble NBA player I've ever know. I am a warrior fan but plan to be a maverick fan.
