I nabbed this vintage Pepsi clock that's not working, can I Fix it and make an improvement?

  • I have nabbed this Pepsi clock from the 80s, its not working and its a bit filthy, can I get it working but also make a little improvement to add it to my collection?

    Great little project. Turned out awesome. I bought a Kienzle car clock in untested condition off EBay 8 years ago. I connected it to a 12v battery, and discovered it still works, despite it being made in the 1960’s

    That's a cool looking clock, I like the addition of the lights inside too!
    It would be good to somehow be able to switch on the lights remotely, once you have it on the wall!

    That looks like a standard Euroshaft fitting (EF), held in place by a screw. The Chinese movements are roundshaft (also non euroshaft or NEF) and helpfully there are at least three sizes of movement/hands, but 5.5mm hour and 3,6mm minute is most common. I fix a lot of clocks at Repair Cafes so have a big box of quartz movements.
