For the majority of these songs he let the crowd sing , he shows respect to fish and his personal story with Marillion , and brings his soothing vocals to the fore front at times . Thank you Steve for helping true Marillion fans still hear these songs , and the amazing material you contribute to the band , respect for standing alone to bring your own personality to the band we all love so much , thanks to you .
Simplesmente sensacional essa banda!!!!! Sou fascinada por eles!!!!
People singing every word = ultimate sign of respect
Fish - the Poet, the showman, the clown!! Hogarth - the briliant singer, the romantic artist, the voice!!!I love the both of them. Got save the 80's!!! Marillion can still catch the heart.

Yes
ABSOLUTELY, fuk yeah!
PERFECT!!!
Good summary ;-)
I do have a problem with hogarth singing Hearts of Lothian
Reminds me of the time when music was an awesome experience thanks to sensible and fully talented musicians. So grateful for all the heritage of 70s and 80s 💕
These three songs I can't live without. Especially Lavender.
Great Job Steve!!! Thanks for bring the real feeling that this song asks and also for the respect to the Fish's time
So many years fan, so many years quality and emotion, thanks guys
Goosebumps....Love Marillion...
Blessed the musician who has such great fans. I have followed Marillion since the good old Fish days and always felt like there was a special relation between band and crowd. Holy crap...listening to Lavender sung 90% by the crowd send me goosebumps all over my old body.
Thanks for sharing.
And H does it huge justice.
When Lavender starts if you don't cry you're dead. The crowd is just unreal !
I was there and when they started Kayleigh I suddenly found myself with tears in my eyes, mumbling something ‘ I can’t believe it!’. This definitely was my best concert in my entire life. And I’m glad to see myself several times in the crowd in this video. Cheers, mate!
The H man nails it again .. I have learnt to appreciate and respect Steve H and he bloody well deserves it He has basically kept Marillion alive and beating to a different pulse.RESPECT TO THE X2 Steve’s and the band ..as Neil Young once said KEEP ON ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD 🌎
Damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. I think Steve Hogarth does a fantastic job here. He's a great singer and he's respectful enough to know these songs belong to Fish, the crowd, and a time gone by. He said as much during an interview. Misplaced Childhood is such an emotional album. Even Fish can't sing it properly anymore. Let it be.
well he should have more solo albums just like Peter Gabriel did
This teaser turned my flesh and bones into jelly... Incredible respect by the audience, I almost cried When Lavander started, melted my heart in as second.
Steve Rothery is a wonderful Guitarist. Awesome 💪🙏
I saw these songs played live in 1985 in Toronto and watching this made me emotional. What a band.
IV'E NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE AND IV'E NEVER BEEN A BIG MARILLION FAN...but what a fantastic audience and an atmosphere of sheer happiness...I'd loved to have been there! JUST FABULOUS FUN!
I'm a huge Fish era fan but I must say that this was excellent and the crowd adored it :)
How ever much we loved the past it is just that, past. I was disappointed when Fish left but that was over thirty years ago. Marillion are still playing, still counting great and I'm grateful for that.
Have loved this group for over 35 years.
Oh my god, this is SO BEAUTIFUL!
Can‘t hold back my tears!
Long live Marillion! You've been still my musical inspiration since i was a teen.
I definitely prefer the Fish version of this but Hogarth most definitely hit it out of the park with this performance.
I have just happened across this clip. The Fish era is all I listen too being an 80s teen and I never warmed to Steve Hogarth and the music after Fish left but total respect the band, crowd and Steve. nailed this performance 👏👏👏Total respect.
The crowd at the beginning of Lavender are just brilliant.
No one play like Steve Rothery. God bless you man.
Why am I crying ..... this is so awesome!!!
This is an unbelievable performance. Truly epic. Just wish Steve Hogarth had finished the song with the original ending from Misplaced Childhood .... "and the man in the mirror has sad eyes."
Awesome!!! Amazing!! The people singing LAVANDER made me cry... Hopefully they'll one day come to Rock in Rio.
MARILLION fans are the best in the world!!!
I was introduced to Marillion by my late husband. So glad to know their awesome music...!!! Both lead singers are amazing...
as is the entire band.
Omg , everyone says that about their fans , give me a break lol
They don’t clap and cheer any different than any other fans. Get over yourself
Phish fans are ten times more dedicated
@@SunnyHippies hahaha.. kinda true. but do you mean fish ? :S
or phish ? :s
@@kathleenmurphy5722 sorry for your loss. but yes, through the music , they live on!! and i truly love both eras the same for very legit yet different reasons.
Bands change over the years, especially those who have been around as long as MARILLION....however this line up is instrumental in its history...and long live Marillion. :-)
Love it for ever!!! Thx for the music and thx for the love!
This is Progressive Life! Not only Progressive Rock!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
true my friend
the guitar solo in middle is class
got goosebumps all over, so beautiful - thanks and all the best
God I love these guys. Greetings from Canada.
Every time I watch this I get chills when the crowd sings in Heart of Lothian.
que monstruosamente hermoso es todo ésto, el rock sinfonico es lo más, larga vida a Marillion.
Marillion é para Poucos!
Música com Coração e Alma...
Exatamente isso!
Fish forever will be the best singer of this great band!
Excellent band. Caught them live many moons ago in Glasgow.
Cheers for posting.
Your name sounds oddly familiar.
FROM SOUTH AFRICA --- BRAVO ! ---
One of the best versions of lavender av seen the way the crowd take over is superb
This takes me back to the best era which was the 80's, my niece got her name from this song
...Dilly Dilly?
Marillion fans are different class. Credit to Steve for sharing the Fish songs with the audience.
A beautiful adaption, interpretation (as far as the crowd allowed), of the Suite! Well done, well inspired and full of respect..whtat more do you want?
Brilliant, thank you Renato for posting!!!
The crowd was amazing!
Schönes Lied erinnert mich an meine Jugend. War schön.
Gotta give it to 'H' ...he let's the crowd sing a lot to the Fish era songs. I think he's a gentleman and respectful, and a bleedin' good singer. The lyrics of Fish are timeless, legendary and outstanding.
Diff class from Hogarth the way he gets crowd singing lavender is superb
Wow what a gig this must have been, which I was there !
Just amazing they are so tight! I think I actually saw Rothery smiling too!
Steve Rotery is awesome!!!!
Thank you Renato :-) You Rock! \o/
best when h sticks with h material - never captures the heart and passion of fish
true, but what artist could sing another's artist work as passionately as his own? especially given the hard to ignore factions in the Marillion world?
Seen in Tivoli, Utrecht last week.....IT WAS GREAT !!
Steve still plays it like it was recorded...a master guitarist........not bad for guys who at age 60 to 66 would be getting ready to be put in sheltered accommodation and waiting for meals on wheels and a o.a.p bus pass .....ALWAYS WIDE BOYS ....
Krásná píseň od Marillion. Mně se moc líbí...❤
Great Show
Música de altíssima qualidade, arrepia até a alma🎉🎊🎊👍👍
Lavender is nothing less than a masterpiece
I love that they have started playing tge fish era stuff again - my favourite songs for the most part - and Hogarth puts a new bent but really nails them.
Plus how easy as Marillions lead singer - start Easter let em sing start Lavender let em sing 😂
amazing video
And the crowd goes wild. Who is watching this and is not singing a long?
H brings new meaning to not wanting to sing Fish’s songs (something he’s talked about in the past, he doesn’t like to). “Hey I’ll just let the crowd sing them then.” 😅🤷🏼♀️
Marillion is the best
So powerfull
Sometimes I think that I was born in a hearth of lothian too
Impossível não comparar. FISH faz muita falta. Versão linda de Lavender 👋👋
he is the masterpiece of Marillion and without him the band lost one of the greatest singers ever born.
Ha.. cant believe we are still doing the Fish v H thing I have followed the band from day 1, had great times in the 80s at the gigs and still continue to love the music... Lets give the rest of the band some ****ing credit , front men are massively important but these are two different animals....
I'm with you. Fish left the band during the Thatcher-Reagan era. If you had a child the year Hogarth joined the band, they just finished grad school. It's time for people to let it go.
+Kevin Brodie if you had kids the yeah H joined the band they just turned 27 and are probabl married OR have moved back iin to your house
+Pat McCloskey You know what they say...live at home long enough and it will be yours!
Sublimissime !!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
J'adooooore ,je vous kifff💕💕💕💕
I love it, a bunch of Hogarth v. Fish comments. I'm a prog fanatic from way back. Listened to Marillion in the Fish era, thought the musicians were great, but the lead singer was horrible, so I moved on. It's all a matter of taste. If you loved Fish, you stuck around. Folks like me who thought Fish's tone and delivery were a distraction from the fine music, and who left looking for greener pastures, neither start nor normally comment on Fish threads. Hogarth brought me into the fold. I think he is the greatest singer in all of pop music today, and the music of Marillion is now different and better than the material and performances from the Fish era. I agree with those below who have commented that Hogarth's voice does not really fit the Fish era songs, and I don't think his heart is really into the singing of them, as opposed to the incredible passion he brings to his own songs. He sings the old tunes out of respect for the fans who have been with the band since the Fish era. Stories of new band members refusing to play the tunes penned by their predecessors are legion in rock music. If you are a long-time Marillion fan, be grateful the band still plays the old songs that made you fall in love with them, and thank Hogarth for singing them. I wish I could see Fish through your eyes and hear him through your ears, but I can't. To each his own, and live and let live.
Yesquire0 I always enjoyed Fish more because his voice made Marillion to me the spirtual successor of Genesis (due to to Fish's voice sounding similar to Peter Gabriel's) in the 1980s when they were writing songs like "Illegal Alien" and "In Too Deep". I respect your opinion for not liking him, but I'm also happy you respect the opinions of fans like me that hold him in high regard.
You realise Peter left 8 years before Illegal Alien was written.
Stockholm, Cirkus 21th of May 2022 Please guys make it MAGICAL!
Ciągle zapętlam , dobry nowy Marillion , perła w koronie, na koncertach odlatuję ... :)
BRUTAL.......EL VIAJE DE MARILLION
💓💓💓wonderful 💓💓💓
Lavander? WOW!!!!
I O U for your love, siempre.
trop excellent!!!!!
I'm 63 and still a big Prog rock fan...I've seen ELP ,Genesis ,Pink Floyd,Yes live etc...but this looks like the most fun gig ever! I'd have loved to have been in the middle of that! :)
If you haven’t done so, you should totally see a Marillion Weekend. You’ll love it!
Fantástico 🔥🤜🏼🤛🏼🔥
Saya suka dng musik marillion sejak sma thn 1983 sampai srkarang.
Team Fish berarti 😄
I think Hogarth sounds great!
Yep and me ...surely the guy does not have to prove himself after 25 years!!!!
+roy ashman he never did have to prove himself. people need to stop comparing, it is played out!
I miss Fish
the guy is a great singer and represents Marillion well but the good old Fish was a TREMENDOUS performer with an unusual voice. On what concerns me I rather prefer the songs from the Fish age and find myself unable to criticize any of those songs but I'm able to recognize some great songs like "the great escape"; "easter"; "no one can" as well... SO WHAT MATTERS IS THAT UNLIKELY SON MANY OTHER BANDS MARILLION ARE STILL HERE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS ... LONG LIVE MARILLION!!!
Steve Hogarth - Vocals
Steve Rothery - Guitar
Pete Trewavas - Bass Guitar
Ian Mosley - Drums
Waldo - Keyboards
What beautiful
simplemente hermosa lavender....!!!
Amo vocês grupo
Come vorrei essere stato a quel concerto, Hogarth è fantastico, Rothery immenso!!!!!
This is my happy place.
IOU for your love ♥
Musicians are better than ever .Marillion is as good wine the time make them better.Fish was an awesome singer but he has no voice now and H sings better than fish could now.Stop to cry on the fabulous past with fish.H is a great singer who make marillion more magic and experimented.Marillion without fish is much better than fish without marillion. The sound is still there no Doubt
That is a beautiful looking bass guitar
