The amazon ocarina is definitely not tuned properly haha. The other important thing to keep in mind when comparing ocarinas, specifically the timbre, is the type/shape of sound hole. Circle and teardrop shapes will sound more pure. Rectangular voicings will have some texture. In addition, the steepness of the breath curve will affect how the instrument sounds due to different breath pressure requirements.
That Amazon one! OMG, what a hot mess!😅🤣😂
I’ll say. The sound that it makes are way out of tune compare to the other ocarinas. Heck, the plastic one sounds even better than the Amazon ocarina which is pretty sad.
Porcelain always has the distinct clear sound to it, like wind across glass. That is why they are so expensive.
It's more expensive just because the material is better?
Doesn't make any sense but, businesses will always charge the most that they can
@@selfactualizer2099 Better material is so often more difficult to procure and/or work with. It makes perfect sense.
This is great!! I'm a flutist and I also play the clairinet. I'm starting the Ocarina and your channel has really helped me, thank you.
I love the sound of the purple clay ocarina.
I got the two crappy sounding ones right. Of the three decent ones, I liked the ceramic water one the best. The porcelain one sounded a bit cold, almost like a synthesized version. The clay one sounded a little breathier than I'd prefer, but had some nice harmonics. I guess there's a trade off there.
The water ocarina is beautiful omg. I can’t wait to get my Air ocarina. I have my Ice ocarina in G major. Oooooo I’m craving for another ocarina and that next one would be the Water ocarina❤️
I have the Water, Ice, Earth, and Shadow element ocarinas. I like lower pitched instruments more than higher pitched ones, although I do have some instruments that normally play higher notes, like a trumpet and a violin. I'd be quite limited in my range of notes on instruments that play higher notes normally, since my ears are more sensitive to high pitched sounds
Although I do like quite a few instruments, like brass instruments, such as the trumpet, euphonium/baritone, and tuba, and some wind instruments, like the ocarina, modern flutes, slide whistles, and the pan flute/panpipes. I love music, and I wish I could play more instruments and get past my fear of certain sounds...
I'm so glad to know that it's my ocarina and not just my playing =o) This was awesome!!
Definitely 3rd one it's sound so beautiful
do you have any wooden ocarinas? if so... how do they compare?
#1 by far sounds the best to me ! Thank you so much for making this video ! Wish you would review Temu ocarinas - this is the first time that I have even heard of this instrument . Thx again ! Delightful video.
Dont buy from temu they're out of tune
Would love to see a ocarina collection video!💙x
I got them all wrong, except the one that sounded like crap. Got that one right.
Excellent, thank you.
#3 sounded _so good to me_ that the rest were practically dead to me. Figures that I'd gravitate to the most expensive one.
I have a ceramic STL but I had no idea the porcelain sounds so good
#3 was my favorite sound wise. Love the look of #1 and 5 though. I wasn't sure if #2 or 4 was from amazon. Something felt off about both of them to me
The plastic ones sound sort of hollow to me.
@@vhfgamer I think they are hollow aren't they?
@@doctorwatson1000 Yeah ocarinas are hollow, but the plastic ones don't have as rich or full of a sound. That's what I was trying to say.
@@vhfgamer Yeah I know, I was just stirring. I agree. I liked 1 the best then 3. I'm thinking of buying one for a friend. Happy new year from Sydney, Australia
I personally liked the porcelain one the best but thats just me
I bought the blue ceramic ocarina of time, 😅 I guess if I can learn on this thing I should be able to play anything right? I ordered it with the last 10 I had lol
I'm sure you'll play it nicely, it's the ocarina itself that may be poor quality
The only issue is that it's out of tune so it might mess with your ear training., if you're referring to the amazon one that is. The plastic one sounded fine as far as tuning is concerned.
idk after yt compression and having headphones on the clay one sounded best.
The best one was purple clay ocarina can u make another song to learn
Thank youuuuu!!!
got the first 3 right, plastic and clay sound too similar to tell
I got the first two right, the last three were wrong lol.
Are soundscape ocarinas good? Cause the reviews on this nice ceramic one are good but idk just yet
Porcelain was my favorite
Hello. I recently got a 3d printer and printed a ocarina model i found and me and some friends loved it. I discovered your channel when trying to learn how to play it. Sadly for some reason my ocarina doesn't play high notes. Im new to this and would love to have a good working 3d printed ocarina. Do you have any clue on what could be the issue?
Hey man, usually woth instruments a smaller hole will produse higher sounds. You could try either shrinking the body or the holes on the higher end notes.
Wow, I legitimately got every single last one correct. I liked the porcelain one best. I guess you get what you pay for?
I don't have a good ear for the different types of ocarinas yet, but even I can tell the one from Amazon should probably be returned.
I bought one Songbird Ocarina AC, but the tone wasn’t very well and the pitch is around 435hz. I would like ocarina 440hz. Witch ocarina can I buy with 449hz?
Can someone please help me know what to do about my porcelain ocarina? I bought several from STL, and the one that plays best is my plastic one. The porcelain one sounds really breathy, and even after talking to STL's customer service, I can't get it to sound good. My ceramic one from STL sounds great, until I play it with another instrument, and I realize the high C is flat. Both of these happened last December and it discouraged me so much that I stopped playing this year. :( My husband wishes I would play again, but no matter what I do, I can't make the porcelain one sound clear.
Didn't even know there were so many ocarina options! Wow, the Amazon one sounds awful. I'm glad I came here before buying it lol
I bought an amazon one and have been playing it for a week. It's definitely pitchy. I'm gonna return it. I was trying to see what's best in this video
@@roadrunna1up good to know! The hardest part will be picking one in the most useful key
I love the zelda tenorrrr
Legit! Thanks!
That porcelain ocarina is like 40 dollars directly from the manufacturer.
Who, what, where, and how? I really liked the porcelain one.
@@vhfgamer Ali express
I like number 1 and 5, they sound bedst
I liked the ceramic one the best, with the porcelain one close second, and the clay and plastic actually still sounding quite good (I think I prefer the plastic one a little better) ...
and the amazon one is complete garbage!
The others all sound good! :)
Can you do a “How To Read Ocarina Sheet Music” video?
Aren’t clay, porcelain, and ceramic all made of the same thing?
Different clay compositions and temperature but they're all made of clay, so yes.
Can you recommend a zelda one for $ 70 please.
I like 1 then 3 the best
Ceramic and plastic are the best
Missed between clay and ceramic 😅
There’s no such thing as a tenor ocarina. It’s just a weird name stl has. Technically they are just alto ocarinas. I wish stl would just stick with the Asian naming system. It would be so much simpler and less confusing if they would stick to what all the other makers are doing!
What song is this? Its super familiar but cant put my finger on it...
Saria's song, from zelda
My favourite one was the sh* tty amazon one that sounded like cr ap
Honestly Plastic seems fine
Why are all of you videos just advertisements for stl ocarina. They are honestly not as amazing as everyone says. They also have a jacked up naming system.
because of her discount code
Do you have a different place you recommend?
I think the clay one sounded the best
I’m sorry, but $69 😂😂
The amazon one definitely has no quality control
None of those were tenor. They were alto C. It's literally written on the neck.
Yeah it's a marketing oddity from STL ocarinas. David Erick Ramos went in depth on a video, discussing the topic.
IF you don't want to play the guessing game skip to 1:30 to see the instruments
I wish u could buy from stl's...
The Amazon one is a mess, out of tune and weak material, my favorite is the purple clay, great sound and almost perfectly tuned.
Interesting video but I literally could not hear any difference between them
I got all of these right how stranfe

Hello I've been watching your videos for a while and I was wondering if you can help me find a 7 hole ocarina. I tried many websites, but none have been very helpful for my search. Pls help
