- When you buy a Google Pixel 5, I'd imagine you will want to figure out how to get the most out of it right away. To help, we have a list of the First 10 Things to Do with the Pixel 5, some of which will probably work for the Pixel 4a 5G too. These videos actually make for better reviews since they give me a better idea of a new phone's features and if those features are something I would be willing to use. Most tech reviews just run down the specs, complain about the camera and call it a day. These deep dives help me make a more subjective, personal judgement.
yee boi thats how i get my phones, a good amount of hours of research and spec checking, comparisions, size website i found which showed it was smaller than my big op5t and this is almost perf for my smallie hands :P

@@arlo9034 Great! Their so similar, the OS everyone goes on about was not hard to figure out. Cams super good but uses software to be good so if you use the snap cam, there's no software so the pics suck. You have to upload from cam roll. Oh and there's a specific adapter in the box to transfer your data. My service provider set up the phone skipped that step and to this day I don't have my contacts.
Aside from that small phone, big screen big battery. And Google owns UA-cam, it seems like UA-cam's better on here. Maybe it's just me.

Just got this baby! This is a great buy and there's nothing to regret. Most importantly, call quality is just fine. Nothing to worry about but of course I have had better. If you are willing to buy this phone, go and get it. The Adaptive Sound option also improves speaker quality but not the call quality. However, call quality is pretty ok. I have used in quiet, noisy environments and found nothing wrong.

@@pamfan221 It usually takes far longer to shoot a video, this is cut and edited which is why it's 20mins. But shooting was probably 40ish if not more.

I had an string of older Samsungs and JUST got my P5 after not finding them anywhere....Settled on an new open box unit from BestBuy. The entire market was wiped out, I'm assuming because of Covid, stimulus, and the impending P6..... and was wondering how to do a few things that this video covered. Great info and glad I tuned in. No nonsense, and no fluff, just the way I like it. Keep up the good work, Droid Life.
When you make adaptive brightness more complicated than it really is. It is a light measuring sensor, wether independent or built-in to the front facing camera, and adjusts the brightness accordingly.
It actually uses an ambient light sensor, not the camera. It would be terribly inefficient to use the whole camera sensor just for ambient lighting.
I am about to ditch Apple I am sick of it. Hopefully I’m a few days I will be able to adjust. Great video thank you.

I have the pixel 3 and love it ! Thinking about upgrading to the pixel 5 but my only concern is about the stereo speakers won't sound the same to the pixel 3. Also I'm glad they brought back the fingerprint scanner on the back so convenient and reliable

The first thing I did with my pixel 5 is get my Sim Card tray jammed and couldn't get it back out

Very good tips. In addition to confusing bubbles,if you want to customize and change the default notification tone for messaging or other apps you have to go back into that app section and change it for each individual app under notification. Very counter intuitive I cant understand how google missed this vs iOS where it's simple.
I just got this phone. Battery life is insane. First 3 days, only charged once. SOT of 12 hours WITH 90hz. Imagine using 60hz on battery saver, or even extreme battery saver. This phone could last a week. It's mad

I got my Pixel 5 today and I absolutely love it compared to the Pixel 2 XL I came from.
I used to use a samsung galaxy s9+ (which has a finger print reader on the back) but after the battery started dying frequently I went out and bought myself a pixel 4XL and then like 2 days after I did that they discontinued the 4 and 4XL because they were bring out the 4A and later this... The Pixel 5....
I truly miss the finger print reader especially now with covid-19 .. as I have to wear a mask a lot now.. my phone will read my face to unlock.. which means I all the time have to remove my mask to turn on my phone...
Anyways... Finger print reader is greatly missed.
Fingerprint reader learns over time too. Don't forget :D.
I thought I was getting better at using it 😅 Turns out my phone is getting better at using me 😂

When on the always on display, do you need one or two taps to get to the Lockscreen? It is two taps on the Pixel 3 but when I remember right, they changed it with the Pixel 4 and only one tap was needed.

The underscreen fingerprint scanner in my Samsung S20 plus is brilliant
I've tried nearly all types of fingerprint readers out there. Underscreen, back of phone, power button, home button, etc. The back of phone readers are the best because they always work lightning quick and they are in the perfect ergonomic position for how you naturally hold your phone.
If you don't want the bubbles can you just use a normal messaging feature?
Google should continue with this design but with on screen finger print

Been my first 3 days with it. Got 12 hours SOT since I mostly used it in the evenings with average brightness. This phone is incredible.
Got mine from Verizon, traded in my pixel 3 for $350, as a credit over the next 2 years. Essentially, cut my monthly payments in half. Pretty happy with the phone! Great info here. Ain't doing the bubbles though

I came from Iphone Xs Max and haven't had an android since my HTC One M8 in 2014/15.
I like that Tap To Wake actually works consistently on my Pixel 5. On my Pixel 2 XL a lot of times it didn't work at all and other times it took many taps
Dark mode 24/7!!!, AOD off, Adaptive Brightness off.

First thing I do on every phone is enable developer options and disable animation speeds. Makes the phone feel 3x as fast

When it comes to the gesture navigation, can you remove the little bar at the bottom of the screen ? I'm on a S10+ and you can hide it and I was wondering if you can do it too on a Pixel
Great video. Well presented. Question. On my home screen, it has "Welcome to your new Pixel". "Tap for tips". How do I get rid of this? I've scoured settings and can't figure out how to remove it. Any suggestions?
Keep your finger pressed down on it, then select "turn off notifications".

I'm halfway through this video but what I do with all of my Android phones is going to developer options... And set the window animation scale, transition animation scale, and, the animator duration scale, to .5... this gives the phone a much quicker snappier feel and I believe it gives the phone a little bit more performance.
Seriously I'm watching this on my local 4xl and the PIXEL 5 is no where NEAR what I'd call an upgrade. I can literally do all this on my PIXEL 4xl. I still have what I believe it's a very useful feature with three combination of soli radar and face unlock. Only thing pixel 5 has that I'd like is battery life lol.

FIRST THING: Put it a good case!!!! At 3 days old, a 3' drop resulted in a screen that totally blew out around the front camera and screen is toast, phone is not usable (can't even turn it off). Any corner hit is bound to kill it as the bezel is so small. And I'm a Pixel fan, but now I have to wait for insurance to get someone else's F'd up phone before I'll get a replacement. >:-(

@@bia3lasek this is my first Pixel device. I have used nexus in the past and used to have a iPhone X before this. Haptics are not as good as on iphone but still really good.

@@michaelshaker5684 I say it comes down to it you prefer iOS or stock Android. I wanted a change of pace so I switched. I absolutely love Pixel 5 and do not miss my iphone. I say try it but that is ultimately up to you.

My pixel 3 works great, but the design was very outdated from the moment it came out..
Smoother overall than my pixel 3. Way better battery life.... My pixel 3 used to go from 100% to 80% while browsing the news feed and reading emails during my morning poop. Pixel 5 was at 100% after my morning poop
@@charleschaimkohl I've hidden the notch and prefer the front speakers.
So nothing will match the 3xl camera... However the 4xl is a very close match but I wouldn't bother with any of these unless the 4xl. Otherwise wait til the 6xl

Probably a safe bet. It's a solid all rounder. It's not got any cutting edge features so it may age quicker but equally you won't hate it for the whole duration you use it

There's no way to switch the back and square button for 3 button navigation, is there?
There is, go to settings, then search for gesture navigation, then you should see 3 button navigation to switch back to. Although I recommend getting used to the gestures, because you never know when Google will remove the 3 button navigation.

The first thing you need to do is check for gap between the body and screen. Am waiting since the phone launch for Google to address this issue so I can upgrade from pixel 2 to 5
Only one thing that I hate most is that Google still don't have official store in Poland...
