I'm surprised how new and modern the Russian cities are. They don't look much different than Ameican cities.
I'd never seen pictures of Russia in color before seeing this video. In black and white pictures, Russia looked like a bleak and depressing place and I see it's not that way at all. Thanks for posting this video.

Michael Hittson There is corruption and poverty, of course, but our corporate mass media exaggerates the looks of Russian cities on purpose to keep people away. Don’t get me started on the extreme, cherry-picked propaganda against COMMON PEOPLE, which is the one that actually bothers me the most, besides their questionable picks for “activists” like multi-billionaires Browder and Khordokovsky which crush the voices of legitimate activists over there on a world stage. Btw, Browder is actually an American guy who renounced our American citizenship to avoid paying taxes here and when NY federal courts have attempted to summon him to go on record, he has literally ran away from them. But anyway...
With that said...the cities could be even better if the officials were 100% elected by the people (checks and balances) and the current officials actually hired specialists to urban plan the cities and put regulations on what can be built and not built. For example, there’s a video of a city called Chelyabinsk here. The unelected city officials keep putting up these useless fences around the city, despite local urban planners telling them that they make the city less attractive, do not help make the streets safer and no one wants them. The officials don’t listen to the recommendations of local urban planners and keep putting them anyway (cynically defying the needs and wants of the population and actual experts). Further, they keep allowing for 10 to 15-story buildings by so-called “developers”, that all look similar, to be built when I’ve seen that their small bureau architects are perfectly capable of nicer, better planned buildings.
On a lighter note, you should look up Altai and Lake Baikal. They’re very beautiful!

CNN, Fox news, all the mainstream news channels in America would freak out if people saw this nation wide. The only reason Russia is underdeveloped is because all the sanctions imposed by the USA, thankfully hasn't lost its values and culture and remains like this, I would hate it turning into America. При этом наш душевой доход выше, чем, например, в Греции, а в целом находится в той же подгруппе, что и Польша, Венгрия, Прибалтийские страны, Португалия, которые являются странами ЕС. Но пока дела улучшаются, причем с ускорением (в результате "санкций" замедлился рост доходов семей, но зато стартовала целая серия впечатляющих федеральных программ по благоустройству - дворов, дорог, инфраструктуры, сел и т.д., резко растет продолжительность жизни (в год на год уже в течение 10 лет, и вполне реалистичной представляется задача войти в клуб "80+" (сейчас 74, но ведь в середине 90-х была 64), а детская, младенческая и материнская смертность у нас теперь ниже, чем в США.
