    Thank you so much for taking a deeper look at this particular brand. I've been curious about Pini Parma ever since Hugo Jacomet mentioned them on different occasions on Sartorial Talks and always wondered whether they are really as good as he claimed. With your trustworthy opinion backing that, I don't believe that I've any excuses left for not checking them out.

    I just got two pairs of flannel trousers, nice cut, great fabric, their sizing tips and explanations are excellent, and the ordering was extremely simple and shipping was amazingly quick. I'll definitely order from them again, great value and service, and nice designs.

    I can't tell you how happy I am to hear about this! Those gurkha-like trousers are perfect (I tailor my slacks with a 7in hem) I've been looking for a Suit Supply alternative with Neapolitan features, so this is a dream come true. You're the best, Brian!

    Hi Brian! Love your content!
    This brand looks amazing. But, I have to point out that for people in Europe the price difference between Pini Parma and Suitsupply is substantial. The cheapest suits in Suitsupply go for 299€ and the ones in Pini Parma are around 650€.
    Now, of course you could argue that the quality of the fabrics...in the Pini Parma suits are equivalent to the more expensive collections offered by Suitsupply, but, anyway, anybody looking for a entry level suit that is not fused with natural fabrics that won't break the bank, Suitsupply is the better choice.
    Thanks again for your amazing videos!

    Glad to see this review up... PiniParma has by far one of the best aesthetics and highest quality look-books for RTW menswear out there today. I'm constantly inspired by their styles, and hope to see them grow to a more accessible brand in the US.

    Pini Parma, they sure have some fantastic stuff. Recently ordered for a third time from them. Just note that their most interesting clothing often runs out of stock quite fast so be quick when the next summer stock comes in. I also think that their summer line up has so far been a bit more interesting than their winter line up, which could relate to their partly southern Italian heritage. Be careful when ordering pants with more than one pleat (more than one can make it look bulky, particularly if the fabric is flannel). I especially like Pini Parma for their trousers though, while I think Suit Supply still makes some fantastic (sport) jackets.

      I still don't understand the fad about men's watches. Especially those bulky tacky 'garde temps' which protrude on the way of the sleeve. Luxe TV in France is now all about men's watches. The pretentious story-telling of the "Swiss made" firms is quite fun to hear. I only wear a Fred Force 10. If I really need a watch, the Seiko I bought in my student years or my classic steel Tank does the trick.

    Thanks Brian! I'm a big Suitsupply fan but much of their styling can push for everything ULTRA slim, which I have fallen victim to at times. At 6'1" 205 I can't always fit into their products, especially their shirting. I saw you mention Pini Parma in other videos so it's great that you highlighted the brand for us as well as some of their products.

    • @hespokestyle
      @hespokestyle  5 років тому

      Have you tried to not have slimmer fits at Suitsupply and been pushed in that direction?

    • @brandonantone1
      @brandonantone1 5 років тому

      @@hespokestyle no they actually are helpful at the ones I've been to with that and haven't pushed me towards them. It's just generally their fits tend to be slim. Their shirting I mean is either "Slim" or "Extra Slim". You will get more moderate cuts in some of their attire but far and few. All of their sportscoats are Havana fit which are fine for me but sometimes can be slim. With all that being said I believe that SuSu make great trousers but Pini Parma is on my radar now.

  • @gigiaea2540

    Hi Brian, very nice presentation indeed. I am european and a fashion designer, so the style is something engrained in me. Upon reviewing the collection on Piti Parma website I couldn't help but notice that a lot if not most of their items are sold out, which is not necessarily a bad thing of course but something to consider for the costumers and whether they're intending to replace the items or substitute them with the upcoming collection is still unknown. The other thing is that any given item on the website has only one photo, front shot. I wrote them in customer reviews that a few shots of the item from profile and back at least if not multi-angled shots would be tremendously helpful in assessing the item and assisting in decision making process of a possible purchase. Also, the enlarge option on the item doesn't work since it goes to a dark screen. Since it is online the details of the fit matter to put the customer " in the dressing room" so to speak. It would be nice if they had you review the collection and all the pieces in it as they come up. Keep it up! Great job!

    • @hespokestyle
      @hespokestyle  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment, Gigi. Well, Pini Parma is a smaller brand so it is not surprising that they sell out. They make smaller quantities so when they're gone, they're gone. Not a huge behemoth like a Suitsupply or Boggi.

    Awesome video as always! Everyone seems to rate this brand high and now you confirm it’s good. I’ve looked a few times on their website and I’m gonna act on a navy flannel double breasted jacket as an early Christmas present. About the comp with SS, yeah they are a little fashion forward in rtw form but what nobody talks about is their excellent mtm service. I’ve done 2 suits, one neapolitan inspired with natural spalla camicia shoulders, 3 roll 2, barchetta pochet, unlined etc. And a Tom Ford inspired one with wide curved peak lapels, roped shoulders, low buttoning point, milanese buttonhole etc. Just to test out the extremes. The level of customisation you get is imho unparalleled and the cost was around 650 euros for each

    Brian, thanks for your honest feedback. I love that you always keep an eye out for niche quality. Really liked the suit's fit, it flatters you a lot. Rare to find high rise pants off the rack; SuitSupply offers only a very limited amount of those, so points for Pini. Though all the extra back fabric of the shirts does bug me. I suspect sending them back/refunding would be complicated or pricy for you as a US costumer. Do you consider having them tailored?
    Funny enough, I own a suit virtually identical to that pinstriped one and indeed, it's not that easy to not have it look overpowering! I very much valued your styling inspo here.
    Favourite piece of all things Pini would be that knitted turtleneck. It captures your casual sophistication so well, and that's what I'm admiring you for. Keep on with all your great work. Love from Germany.

    I bought a couple of beautiful sweaters from them, but I didn't care for the spread collar shirts. Also, dose high waist pants look totally out of proportion for my 6"2, tall, 47 inches chest, 34-inch waist, and 209 pounds frame. Informative video,might have to try them out. For MTM, I've had Oliverwicks but somehow there are not consistent with the tailoring. One suit they would be spot on,next one would have shoulder rolls or sleeves would have symmetry issues this without changing the previous measurements. It's like for first time customers they would put their best tailors and subsequent orders trainees would take over.
    They do have an excellent customer service.

    Everything looks really high quality, especially the coat! The only thing i didn't really like was the fit of the suit jacket, it looks a bit boxy around the waist and don't you feel the button stance is a bit high? Gerasimos Moschonas I don’t feel button stance is too high. Maybe it’s a little higher than my usual jackets but the thing you should pay attention to is that there is no shirt peeking out below the button. I also don’t think it’s boxy. It’s not cut as slim or trendy as suitsupply

    • @alexnw6050
      @alexnw6050 5 років тому +2

      I would agree (on the suit looking a bit straight, not "boxy"), but so much of it comes down to taste. I prefer a little more nipping at the waist, myself (not tight so much as giving a more classic silhouette with a v-shape), but it all depends. I find suit supply fits me quite nicely, not too tight, my concern with Pini Parma though is sizing.
      I noticed that their size 48 seems to be equivalent to size 38 US, would you say you're general suit size is 38? I ask since I generally take a size 40 US, though based on my height age and weight they suggest a size 48 (38 US).

    • @sebastianflynn1746
      @sebastianflynn1746 5 років тому +3

      A high button stance can be a blessing as it allows for a nice skirt, something you will only notice when the jacket is being worn instead of statically modeled like in the video.
      You're seeing a "boxy" fit because it's a half canvas and not cut super close if it were a full canvas it would allow a more lively skirt and accentuate the nip in the waist. It may also be the blending of the more Northern Italian cut and a southern Italian construction so soft but not cut with enough shape to really accentuate the waist.

    So I have a few inquires. First, have you looked at Oliver Wicks suits? How do they compare to other suit companies at these price points? Next, I see a lot of sites that inform me about suits that can be made or are made of either half canvas or full canvas. What are the major differences and how does that affect fit? Lastly, I wear a 38 US/48 EU size in a couple of other suits. When I look at Pini Parma size chart, the shoulder measurement of that size is a bit smaller than the shoulder measurement on my other suits. My shoulder length is around 18 inches (a little over to be more specific). Should I go a size up from 38 US/48 EU or stay with that size? Most of the other body measurements match me with their 38 US/48 EU measurement. I am 5'11 to 6'0 (1.82m) and 156 Ibs. Great video by the way!

    Would you recommend that I buy a size up from my usual size for the trousers in the soragna? Im 6 ft, 185lbs, and I have rather large thighs/glutes, but a proportionally thin waste. I usually buy size 34 trousers without too many problems, but I've had problems with Italian brands in particular, which simply are too tight on my thighs -- I can't even fit my legs into a size 36 trouser at suitsupply, for example.
    Equally, have you found that the sizes are true to fit, or a bit smaller than stated for the other items you've bought. I have generally found Italian brands to feel a bit smaller than stated; I generally can wear a 40/50 jacket without any alterations, but have had to size up to a 42/52 in Italian brands. Is the same true for Pini?
