      I'm assuming they weren't aware of olives because they couldn't grow in the colder climates in the north. Olive trees flourish in subtropic, hot dry climates.

      Until about 500 years ago greece and high climate places were the only places that grew olives
      Mimir is the smartest man alive but the mind cannot know what it does not know,
      mimir learned a lot even in the story he claims kratos's legends were over exaggerated which shows he seeks knowledge not is born with the knowledge of everything plus he has a great IQ in piecing thing together he is intelligent but not all knowledgeable

    It all makes sense. The world serpent was created by Atreus. He grew massively, fought in Ragnarok, and got hit with Thor’s hammer and sent back in time. Mimir told this story in the 2018 version, then it happened in the god of war Ragnarok.

    I don’t know why, but I never see people talking about how Mimir is puck from Shakespeare’s a Midsummers night dream and in God war, Ragnarok, he’s outright called puck

    I don’t know who it was at Sony Santa Monica who suggested the game needs a talking head as a travel companion but they need the biggest commendation possible.
    He not only adds lore and educates you while you play but he’s also pivotal in many big story moments

      It's honestly to funny because in the actual mythology there's so little actual reference to mimir. Literally all it actually ammounts too is "mimir was a wise man who odin sought the council of. He later then cut off his head and would refer to it for wisdom still

      I recently replayed god of war and ragnarok and I feel the main themes I see is, in the first one accepting your past and all the mistakes you made and trying to be better, and in ragnarock is after being better, fixing the problems you caused, and while nothing will ever go back to the way it was, you can make things better, no matter how small the change. I really noticed this when you do mimir's favours in svaftalfheim

    19:14 Just for context. Dwarves' last names are based on what they are good at doing. Since all dwarves are excellent smithies, "Smith" "Blacksmith" and "Goldsmith" would be redundant last names. Given that background, "Huldra/Hulder" would make more sense if the brothers excelled at fucking forest nymphs... would explain Sindri's hypochondria and aversion to infectious diseases.

    It’s interesting when Kratos tells his stories but he changes it slightly, like the king asked a blacksmith to put evils in a box using a flame, which is obviously Zeus asking Hephaestus to trap the evils in Pandora’s box using the Flame of Olympus

      @@TifffanyTaylor It wasn't shown in this video, but there's a bit of dialogue when you change Vanaheim to day and night twice back-to-back by summoning the wolves of the sun and moon. Freya asks "what are you doing," and Kratos answers "I... wanted to see the wolves again." 😅
