After Subaru's death you can see that he actually realized that something is weird, he's still skeptical though. At multiple times he tries to get indirect confirmation that the things he clearly remembers in his memories actually haven't happened yet. (asking Rom whether he has died yet, asking Felt if she has met him yet, asking the thugs if they want revenge). He also acknowledges that something is weird, and that he has experienced this already because he has learnt from his previous loop. The second time he meets those thugs he goes for the guy with the knife first.
When watching, keep the thought in your head that he feels real pain. When his intestines were opened, he felt the pain of opening his stomach. Usually, anime does not take into account such a thing as the pain of injuries.
I think we can gather this judging by some of the ways he reacts when he comes back Like screaming in pain and with that haunted constipated expression on his face
It's ironic how Subaru, after suddenly got teleported to a whole new world after just going to buy things in a grocery store, acted so calmly and like all of that was normal, but then when he got killed twice and revived in the same situation couldn't get what was going on. Because it looked like he got all his memories before got killed.
It's because Return by Death is an Authority and it takes time to Authority to completely manifest. This happens with other authorities too. In case here Return by Death wasn't fully completed ability. It took time (spoilers) To Subaru use other authorities after getting them.
@user-lh5my4ws8j While it's true Authorities take to manifest, you can't use an incomplete Authority. Return by Death was complete. It was just Subaru not being able to comprehend the phenomenon.
Well goddamn, so Subaru after buying groceries outside of Seven Eleven, at night time when suddenly he gets transported into a different world. And in the first episode, we already see him get killed. This might be the most realistic anime ever. 🔥🔥
Subaru follows them trying to help her to find something she lost, which is really kind of him. And as they follow leads they end up in the slums at a building thats supposed to have what there looking for. Subaru says he will go in first to get it, and as he goes in he sees someone dead, in the next second he gets fatally injured along with the girl he was helping who came in after him.
This anime has many strong points all in a more darker and screwed up context. It really has great character development through a certain aspect that is introduced later on. It gives you a close, and merciless depiction of suffering, and how a human being breaks mentally and emotionally over and over. I honestly gonna feel bad for Subaru over, and over again at this point. 😭😭
45:56 Ayanokoji actually got 60.6 on the grip test since he held back, and thought that it was the average in season 2 i remember, but yeah Subaru is indeed strong af.

A neet kid that got trapped in a middle aged fantasy world. This is really like konosuba, but this has some major dark psychological steins;gate kinda final destination vibe to it as opposed to konosuba's comedy-filled light-hearted vibe. I also heard the authors are friends with each others too, so that may be the case too.
Animation, and the sceneries are really awesome, loving the character designs. Was nice hearing Megumin's voice again. Also Subaru reminds me a bit of Kazuma somehow.
By the way, after reacting to season 1 you can check some of Mother's Basement's videos: "How Re:Zero Changed from Light Novel to Anime - Adapt or Die" and "Re:Zero IS a Masterpiece. F*** You, Fight Me.". I believe in you, the Farming master.
When I first saw this anime, I thought it's another cliche fantasy harem. Since in the cover photo, we have a normal, plain looking guy surrounded by cute girls wearing revealing clothes.
Many people are comparing this to ERASED, and Steins;Gate, but it really reminds me a lot more of "All You Need is Kill" or "Edge of Tomorrow", but with a fantasy setting instead of a sci-fi one. Unlike the other two, in Edge of Tomorrow, the hero actually has to die in order to keep going back in time. Sometimes he does it on purpose, but most times it's by pure circumstance.
Subaru decides to not repeat the same actions, but rather take on the problem at its roots, the warehouse. He tries to get the insignia so that both of them don't even have to show up there if this whole reset thing is actually true of course.
Then Subaru sees Satella, and doesn't misunderstand he isn't surprised that she doesn't remember him since he has realized that already. He's surprised that she is upset about him calling her name (normally you would expect a normal, and probably friendly "How do you know my name?") and that she obviously didn't trust him enough to give him her real name. Add to this the fact that this name is the name of a witch who seems to be feared by the people.
At the scene where Elsa kicks him back he has a short flashback, and he looks even more shocked, because he now has the confirmation that all the things in the first loop have actually happened. He learns from this first loop by protecting his belly at all costs but it wasn't enough.
After Subaru's second death, and revival he finally realizes that he starts over here when he dies, but can't comprehend how this is even possible. Combine that with the traumatizing experience of being killed alongside with the pain which he also blacks out.
I thought this was going to be decent anime from the description before it aired, but damn this is better than i hoped it's gonna be. I'm having a high hopes now, and i hope it won't dissapoint.
Subaru's power seems to be a rewind time when he dies. It really reminds me of ERASED without the dying. I reallt liked the characters, and the battle scenes were nicely done as well. The animation is also on point. This is definitely gonna be a great series.

Seconds later he's back were he started. I guess this is gonna be one tragic anime with the main character returning after each death again and again. Im honestly hyped for the next episode as i loved everything about the premise of this show. ❤❤
First half of the episode was really fun, and relaxing. I knew Satella's voice sounded oddly familiar, and to think Megumin's VA voices her makes the whole Konosuba comparisons even more ironic. I really like her voice, it suits the character really well. Seeing Puck transfom into a huge cat was pretty funny yet weird at the same time. I really like Subaru's personality, but i'm more interested in how he got his ability to repeat moments in time after dying.
The animation is really top-notch, and has some beautiful scenes especially when Satella was casting her magic at the end of the first part. There are some parts where there's CGI which looked a bit awkward, but it wasn't too bad. I loved the OST/insert song that played at the very end of the episode. ❤❤
Subaru woke up, and he sees Satella, yells her name, but then she replies that he shouldn't call her by the Witch of Envy name. I had to look up, and check that it seems like her real name is Emilia. That ending was very shocking, and confusing, at the very same time. Either way this anime has definitely got my attention, and I'm very excited to see the direction on where this goes.
I've really got a soft spot for fantasy animes so naturally this seems a good one for me. Part A had a good light hearted feel to introduce characters, and world setting, while Part B showed us what to expect from this show.
OST seems great, and the animation as well seems to be one of the main things to look forward to. I'm pinning my hopes on this one though i won't over expect anything from this. Looking forward to what direction the show goes on from here.
What really surprised me was how dialogue heavy this show was, and it really pulled it off really well. The dialogue, and character interactions was very flavourful, making up for the rather lackluster visual presentation of this show.
Coming to into this anime i expected another basic isekai, though i was dead wrong. Frazier I’m genuinely curious what’s up with you, there’s some comments implying you haven’t seen the show yet and then there’s comments saying how much you love the show and that it’s a masterpiece. Then there’s comments saying episode 1 is weak and other comments saying how strong episode 1 is
It's really kind of hilarious how some people are being deceived by the first half of the episode, and it's also kind of sad because it turns people off from what could be an amazing series that they are missing out.
It will be a pain for Subaru to have to re-live his life all over again each time he dies. I'm kinda sure that the checkpoint will change after he cleared a goal, or something.
Subaru is also very casual about explaining why he wanted the badge to complete strangers without even thinking about it. The thief was the one who stole from Satella in the first place, and the other girl was competing to earn the badge for reasons unbeknownst to him. There is no reason to disclose this knowledge to possible enemies in the future.
The first half was kinda slow but 2nd half picked up hard, I loved it. The ending where Subaru called her fake name out, then the title pops off. Damn!! 🔥🔥
I don't necessarily need an OP Genius MC who thinks at the speed of a supercomputer or anything, but as extreme as his situation is, there are certain things that come second-nature to us all (like distrust of strangers and caution in a place where you've actually experienced death before), and when you see him acting irrationally, it's nice to know that such characters aren't saved by "dumb luck" and get what they deserve.
Second half of the episode was where things got even better. Felt, and Rom were really cool characters, and seeing them interact with Subaru was pretty enjoyable, especially Subaru showing them his mobile phone. Elsa is one psychotic sadistic woman though, holy hell. She killed Rom, and Felt with ease then eventually killed Subaru soon after. I honestly didn't expect this anime to go in this direction especially with the gore blood. 💀💀
The gore in this episode is excellent, coupled with superior animation. This was one of the consistent highlights of the show. Though I found the majority of the intro, and beginning of the second half to be dull. The violence, at the end left me wanting for more. I look forward to what sinister surprises we can expect from here.
Ngnl. I also love Elsa design and VA when the first time she appearing here. Instead terrifying, it feel more enjoyable to watch. Then the SFX the first transition when Subaru got transported. This is the one that i recognize it "This shows will be banger". Jojo's makes me think, when anime did sfx good, high chances the anime itself will be great. And the Persona, when anime did the ost good then the anime itself highly possible be a great shows. Rezero did that on the first eps and yup. That is f true. Enjoy the ride man. I rewatch the shows like 3 Times for the season 1 (I love season 1 more ngnl than other season, but not that i hate it. In fact, for the story i love season 2 better. But for the best experience probably season 1 atleast for me).
The MC's response in All You Need is Kill is more plausible if you have read it. Despite his desire to dismiss his vision as a dream (which is reinforced by the fact that he woke up in bed, which is not the case in this instance), he is actively forming connections, and moreover, he is in denial about the details of the dream. But the novel's events push him back to the battlefield, where he must come to terms with the situation as it is. I don't really get into Subaru's claim that he genuinely forgets everything in this instance. However, this is a choice in writing. If it gets the writer where he wants, it should be acceptable as long as you're more concerned with where the show goes than how it gets there.
In the novel Subaru had the same reaction because he thought his death was surreal, he remembered everything but it was foggy and felt detached from it. The anime poorly portrayed that because it lacks the internal monologue like in the fate stay night adaptation.
Awesome start. The first part kinda reminded me about KonoSuba, but the second part blew me off. The first half is very misleading. This anime has the potential to be AOTS next season with it's 3rd season i'm calling it right now!!! 🔥🔥
I'm really happy to see that you are so perceptive to most of the things in this show especially the little details of everything, because this show has A LOT of hints here and there but just doesn't explain it until like gajillions episodes later, but it's really worth it the moment you realized that it was already been teased long before. And since it's a popular show, do note that there might be some spoilers in the comments and chats from the cringe section of this fandom. Looking forward to more of your reactions.
Subaru is quite slow isn't he? First he was scared to go into the house because he thought he'd die again, and then he can't connect the dots to come to the conclusion that the customer of the girl might be his killer(he even heard her talking...)? 🤔🤔
From the first 10 minutes i really expected the same boring redundant harem, instead it turned to be something completely different, and was fantastic. I really like the gore, violence, and drama merged with timetraveling with loop type. This already simply tells you it's gonna be an amazing plot through the end.
@rhiel1728its peak all the way. S1 is just an introduction season with some masterpiece ep like the 17, 18, ep1 and the last 2 or 3 ep. S2 entirety is peak as it dwells more to the story and characters
Subaru should've realised that he was in a time loop, at some point during his first resurrection, or at least thought it was a premonition and acted on it. What was the point in making him genre savvy, and playing it for laughs if they were just going to ignore that in the second half.
Coming into this expecting another SAO copy cat, or just reusing the setting. Man, how wrong i am. The animation was really good. I really enjoy the sunset scenery, CGI is also acceptable with good OSTs, and the action scenes were impeccable.
one thing to keep in mind, in the ln, it makes it clear that subarus memories of past “lives” are pretty hazy, almost like a dream, so thats why subaru was so slow on the uptake. some small things like that are not explained in the anime for some reason

When the first episode is a double length episode you just know it's cooking up something 🔥🔥
Its going to be peak, its going to be cinema, its going to be kino
Lets gooo Peak Zero!
20:17 i wonder why LOL 😂
I'm so glad you're finally doing rezero! ❤
Subaru is quite slow isn't he? First he was scared to go into the house because he thought he'd die again, and then he can't connect the dots to come to the conclusion that the customer of the girl might be his killer(he even heard her talking...)? 🤔🤔
suffering has begin
i thought i'm the only one that really feel that the sound effect is so reminiscent of diablo's portal sfx.
The children choir sound effect is called “call of the witch” and you will understand later what it means and who the witch is. No spoilers
The fact you’re even reacting to cut content..YOU’RE COMMITTED DAMN.
Great first reaction this should be a fun journey
Every isekai has goddess
Re:zero: Who?
i also watcehd re zero finished it today at 4 :45AM in 3 days and it was peak cant wait for season 3
Subarus starter rizz is 'clueless rizz'
If nothing else. Subaru could steamroll Tokyo Revengers plot.
I guess is finally a good time to rewatching for the season 3
From the first 10 minutes i really expected the same boring redundant harem, instead it turned to be something completely different, and was fantastic. I really like the gore, violence, and drama merged with timetraveling with loop type. This already simply tells you it's gonna be an amazing plot through the end.
your reactions are very good!
🗿REACT MESSIAH🗿FINALLY WATCHED PEAK
at which point in the story is ReZero peak? If it's peak from episode 1 then we can only go down from here
@@rhiel1728All of it is peak but 15 and 18 are ultra peak and whole s2 is mega peak too.
@@shi-chan5779 15 snow bgm and 18 rem? Yeah
@@rhiel1728 yes.
Betelgeuse the GOAT and requiem of silence might be the best episode ever of a anime.
Oh shit, you finally react to this goat. Imma take my popcorn now
This is why Rie Takahashi the VA of Emilia is the 🐐 of the waifu characters. ❤🔥
Finally!!!! This is it!!! Let's gooo!!!! 🌸✨
