A viewer named Aiden opened his Xbox to clean it but accidentally broken a ribbon cable in the process. He sent it to a shop to be fixed but, though they charged him for the repair attempt, the Xbox still won't turn on. So I bought the broken Xbox Series X from Aiden to see if I could get it working.

Man, that dude got scammed. Such a simple fix, how do repair shops like that even exist
Lol they want your money don't want to solve little problems
No, the repair shop guy fixed the main problem (the ruban cable connector was broken) but it seems that he forgot to reconnect the cable that links the 2 motherboards, it's all.
Repair shop was banking on customer returning or even selling them the console as is. I'm sure it's common practice at some repair shops
@@zakixbox so they didn’t bench test it after they finished. That’s a problem
I wish all repair shops were good but as with any type of business some are good and some not so good.
If I were the viewer who sold this to you. I would be crying right now.
As a hobby repairman, it surprises me how many times I buy something broken, and it's just dirty or unplugged. Baffling really.
Trust
Same. Once I bought a "broke" wii from ebay. I opened it and found 20 cents in it. Plugged it in and it worked perfect. A full functional Wii console for less then 10 bugs
Nice job Steve! Love an easy one every once in a while! 👍
YES! I couldn't believe it when I noticed it.
I bought a used Star Wars Xbox 360 and the controller they set me had a problem with the left bumper. I was inspired by you so I got a screwdriver, opened it up, and managed to fix it! Thanks for making the videos and inspiring others!
I've found posts from him helping people in forums from over 10 years ago. He's been inspiring people like us for a long time.
Thanks it means a lot to me
That's awesome! Love it. Nice work.
Thanks to you now i have been repairing controllers and games, with the money i upgraded my old desktop and now it runs triple a games
Awesome! Love it
@@Tronicsfix ❤️
Dude your awesome !! You've helped me out over the years so much repairing systems you have no idea
Ahh yes, the repair equivalent of making sure the device is plugged in 😄 I bet you enjoy these once in a while.
Those can be annoying as hell, if you don't see them. You did something and now for some reason the device is working again, you have no idea what was wrong or if it could fail again, just that you somehow fixed it.
It is nice to get an easy one once in a while
I love how you have taken a personal dig at the amount of thermal paste thrown at all repair techs and turned it into an angelic moment of "apply the perfect amount of thermal paste"! With the so soft music to boot. I love the dry humor and especially the amount of knowledge you have in electronics repair. Creating a channel this successful is an amazing feat my friend and I salute you for it. As per the usual thanks for the time it takes to conceptualize, create, edit and UL these gems for our pleasure sir!
Thanks for your support! Glad you find humor in the thermal paste joke!
I don't know what it is but watching you fix something and make it work, is the greatest thing because I would love to fix something and be proud ifixit.
Always love the repairs, keep up the amazing content.
Very happy you stop the music whenever you talk! It really makes it a lot easier to hear!
Awesome work, I love watching fix it videos. Have a great day 🙂
It’s amazing what some people get rid of that they think is broke beyond repair. Got a perfectly good husqvarna mower from the side of the road and the only thing wrong was a dirty float bowl, switched the carburetor, and had to replace the idler pulleys because they were seized. All in all less than $40 for an almost $600 mower that is perfectly fine 😎
Good example of why it's always good to double check all the connections. Good work!
i glad to see your channel grow up!!. Keep going!! honestly like always.
Just logging on to UA-cam for my daily Tronics fix lol. Can’t wait for the auction!😝
Good job mate ❤️ love watching your content !!
Awesome video like always. It usually turns into a family event watching and trying to figure out what is wrong also.
Love it! Did you figure it out before I did? I still can’t believe what was wrong with this one.
Easy peasy fix I was hoping to see some of those soldering skills! Great video as always good luck to everyone for the give away!
Working on railways messing around with circuits for a living I hate troubleshooting when it's something simple we've just overlooked. Last fault I had that I was there for fixing was literally a diode being the wrong way round. Cost 4 fuse, hand tracing and belling all the connection points before finally we found the diode was the wrong way round 2 hours later. It's always the last thing you check. Love seeing this kind of content when it's an easy fix
That sounds like an interesting job!
Love the new way that you're editing the video!!
People that work on repair store can’t fix but it can be fixed they are bad and should not work. You are the best repair dude. Keep this content up man 👌🏼
Keep up the amazing work been watching your videos for long time
Hey Steve, hope you are well! Good video as usual!
Stoked to see you on whatnot I have been on there since Oct and it's fun
Yes, I'm excited to do a live auction. I've watched a lot but haven't sold yet so it should be fun.
@@Tronicsfix welcome aboard I'm excited as well ... I already followed and bookmarked the stream
That was an easy and fast fix for a very good price, good work
This video shows that it’s a good rule of thumb to double check your work. Great video keep them coming
You good man keep it up and see you on the next one
Nicely done Steve!
Great job steve!! We all need easy fixes hahahaha! Good luck to whoever wins!!
It's really nice to have some easy ones once in a while!
I'll be tuning in! Can't wait to maybe win a Series X :)
Nice Job. Perfectly done.
Man your videos are top notch I just subscribed thought I already had but keep up the great videos man.
silently watching all your videos! greetings from ph!
Great content as always . Teaching a younger generation all about right to fix
Much appreciated
It's always fun to see your repairs, keep going!
Thanks, will do!
I really dig your videos. Thanks!
Glad you like them!
watching these videos makes me not want to go to a repair shop for anything because why would i have to pay for something that wasnt even fixed and at times the repair shops damage it even more
There are a lot of great repair shops out there. It's the same with most any business. There are good ones and not so good ones.
What Arron is said, plus if you’re worried about it you should ask upfront what the policy on if they do more damage is.
Honestly, i think having the perfect amount of thermal paste is what did it 😂
Good job mate 👍
Wasn't interested in it, but when he put the prefect ammount of thermal paste, now interested.
Sorry for your loss
I'm not an Xbox fan,but even I have to admit they did a great job with this setup! And I love your content and it makes me laugh when you say " can I fix it?!?!" Of coarse ya can man!!!
Signed up. Thank you TronicsFix!
Awesome video thanks.
Wow to have the knowledge to break it down and fix it is one thing but to get one that was repaired but not put back correctly is a freakin win haha all the work was done you just had to reconnect a ribbon cable to get it to working again haha sick 😂🤘
I really like when your repairs are more difficult it's way more entertaining! Maybe you are just so good that most repairs are simple for you to fix. For me most repairs are difficult!! Lol
As always wonderful content and perfect amount of paste
Good content keep it up!
my favorite youtuber is uploaded a perfect video again
Lol
Sounds good bro
You are by far the best repair channel on UA-cam
With out the perfect about of thermal paste
I have learned a lot and have done a few repair on my own
Hi, Steve! By any chance is the giveaway open to non-US residents? (Brazilian fan here).
Keep up the excellent work on the channel and it's great to see an easy fix for a change (but it seems you had a lot of work going through all of the details.).
I kind of wished this guy could get his series x back, but I guess he sold it to ya.
I actually lost respect for this guy now basically scammed that dude and will give his console away.
Love the video
Damn Aiden it was a very easy fix, at least someone will enjoy a free Xbox. Good luck to everyone.
paid a repair job and sold the console at half price 😂
I've done some repairs where I've had to go back and check multiple times if I've missed something just to find out I've overlooked some ridiculously obvious connector... or I swapped the damaged part so well that I've installed the broken one again.
Always take a minute break and have some water and then go back with a clearer mind. Troubleshooting and repetition makes you do some stupid things.
Inspirational🔥
Well, that was easy. 😆 I just wish all repairs were easy like that.
Ha, ha, me too...sort of. If they were all this easy my videos wouldn't be that interesting
I wish I could repair any console/ electronic like you man. Keep the content up!
Good job 😉
Did you clean the sticker residue off? :p just kidding. Love your content and love from the Netherlands!
I would be so insanely pissed off to find out that all anyone had to do was take it apart and fix what the repair shop screwed up.
You are so so good with its
Love your videos and courses! ❤️
I wish I can win this Xbox, I don't have the money to buy one...
Nice job
Love the content man keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
Very nice . Easy fix 😀
I'll be waiting for it
Brother just a series x from a store two days ago it’s crazy because that’s the first time ever seeing one actually in a store
Good job Steve I say it's your easiest fix and the shortest video ever fastest fix Steve
Easy fix. Idk why people say you should’ve sold it back. You bought it fairly not knowing the problem. You’d still need to charge a diagnostic and repair fee, plus return shipping, if you wanted to. But considering he’s a subscriber I don’t see why he didn’t just open it up himself, you’ve showed us many simple repair videos like this. So it wouldn’t hurt to learn and try, tough lesson is all I can say
I'd guess the subscriber is hesitant to open it again since they opened it up to clean it and damaged a ribbon cable, causing the original issue.
I don't care what justification you have it's a scummy move by him and I won't be watching his videos anymore.
Besides that ribbon cable the biggest flaw was that they didn't put the perfect amount of thermal paste back on before reassembling it.
That was the real issue why it wouldn't boot up
Greeting’s from Greece ! You are the best ! The best gift for everyone !
That's quite sad, went through all the trouble of fixing a connector, only to not plug in a ribbon cable...
And they even did a great job fixing that connector
@@Tronicsfix pretty much got a nice working series x for $275 lol.
What Not must be reaching out to every creator because there are so many people that are currently sponsored by them.
Awesome!
I’m here for it.
I’ve (49) owned almost every home console since Atari 2600 and never had to clean inside. 😟 At most, I’ve vacuumed any dust from the out vent.
I hope the person that sold it to you shows the video to the repair shop and has them refund the money and the difference between the replacement unit and what you purchased his for.
I bet the seller is pissed after seeing what the issue was
Your amazing fix it man
It's ok no thanks
Hey Tronics, i have a problem with my xbox one s, it has something i call "low signal", basically it doesn't display anything but sometimes a signal awakens my monitor to show no signal sign , also it has trouble showing the home screen while in low resolution mode. I was wondering if you know what might be causing the problem
well that was a easy fix but nice video again
1) Open a repair shop
2) Charge a Flat rate to look at a device
3) don't fix a thing
4)????
5)Profit
🤣 Nice save!!
I'll never understand how shops can get away with this. I understand a small bench fee charge but not a full repair fee when they didn't fix it.
@@Tronicsfix I agree!
Please try 18V Bosch Batteries since they are pretty expensive!
If I sold that xbox I would be crying right now seeing what the actual issue was....
Wow.. they just forgot to put in the ribbon cable. Mistakes happen, but charge for it is another story.
Agreed.
dude i want a T shirt with "the perfect amount of thermopaste" written on it
Hey Tronics do you know why my ps4 pro fan is making a noise as if it is rubbing onto something but there I nothing there for it to rub on?
On a Monday , oh well have too work too early
The guy who sent you this series x is devastated right now 😂
I actually lost respect for this guy now basically scammed that dude and will give his console away.
@@xXSinForLifeXx not really a scam. The guy gave him the xbox but yeah I suppose he could have sent it back.
@@connor4475 Might not have done it on purpose but I consider it very scummy. Regardless I have unsubbed don't want to support someone like that.
Dude has 1 million subs not like he couldn't just send it back for a refund of the amount.
I have a cup of questions to ask you on the PS4 PS5 controllers or can I screwed up on the left side joystick
Yayy you took my advice and are giving back to your own growing community ✨️ props for listening 🎶 👏 🙌 God bless you man.
Technically Whatnot is giving back to my community since they are sponsoring this video and giveaway.
It's not technically a giveaway if he's ripping people off using whatnot and just making up the value of the Xbox in everything else he auctions off. It's only a "giveaway" in the sense that, possibly the person getting it will get it for free.
@@TheBrandonn What are you talking about??? Whoever wins the giveaway is literally getting it for free. How am I "making up" the value of it?
At the expense of the guy he basically scammed. Not going to support this channel anymore lol
Even if the repair can be that easy, nearly 300$ for a broken Xbox in scratchy condition seems a bit expensive for me.
Will you use the perfect amount of thermal paste once again?
What happened to "THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF THERMAL PASTE?" 🤣
