This boss took me about 4 hours all in one sitting to kill
I feel your pain. About halfway in the game I felt like that. 🙏
Job well done! 👏👏👏
Kudos Marz
Ily marz, ur the Best! ❤️💪🏼
Nothing a Soulsborne graduate to fear! GG!
I love the Puppet King’s introduction cause when you find out why he offered his hand to P in the cutscene it’s sad when you find out his true identity
@@kenanjackson7871 I don’t want to spoil too much. But the King has more lore and backstory with P than what’s implied. He was actually on our side.
@@kenanjackson7871 yup you’ll get some more lore during the story and it makes more sense why he was sad and not angry that P slapped his hand away.
@@kenanjackson7871
Spoilers Below:
Romeo was Carlo’s (your) best friend at the boarding school he (you) grew up in. After your deaths, he was made into a puppet by Gepetto before you were, and it’s mentioned by Sophia that he tried to stop Simon before you but failed. At some point he was turned into the King of Puppets by Gepetto, and used as a conduit for control over the other puppets. Romeo in this state believes he is commanding his puppet army to fight against Simon, the monsters, and petrification disease, and several of the puppet bosses before him try to tell us he’s on our side/waiting for us in their corrupted dialogue, which gets translated in NG+. There’s also the message you can hear through Venigni’s device in the later game, where most of this is revealed but it is missable.
The first cutscene for the King of Puppets is actually Romeo trying to warn you about what Gepetto is planning on doing to you, as in, taking your heart and putting it into a new body, just like the last encounter & boss of the game, before giving you his hand as a gesture of peace and comradery. You, having none of your memories and a mission to carry out, refuse the gesture making Romeo believe you’ve turned on him, explaining his grief at having to fight his best friend to the death.
Romeo's left eye (the red one) is the one he uses to see, which is why if you only dodge to your left (Romeo's right) he struggles to hit you making the fight way easier.
On my first playthrough I noticed dodging left was optimal, and I then realized why when someone else pointed it out that it was because of his eye.
Amazing attention to detail form the devs!
I never realized that, that’s so cool
English Nzi coming through; You can't "realize" something if someone told you. To realize, is to come to a conclusion on your own. You were *informed* about his eye. Alright, hail grammar and diction, I'm out.
@@ReaperCaliber I'm torn between my hate of language tyrants and the people who butcher the English language.
@@ReaperCaliber Realize can mean to just fully be aware or to fully understand. I did not use that wrongly here
It might have also helped that she didn't stagger him (maybe that triggers the fire combo)
this boss made me so sad because whenever you died he'd say "it's going to be okay, as long as I'm at your side, Carlo"
spoiler it nice
@@toxiccorvus8037 It's not a spoiler because at this point in the game you can read those subtitles during the King of Puppets boss fight. They're distorted but still readable.
@@toxiccorvus8037not a spoiler he literally says it in the subtitles
"I'm not raging I'm laughing" Through gritted teeth cracked me up.
My favorite boss and my favorite relationship that P is involved.
Can I just say that the puppet king has the coolest theme boss song especially on phase 2? Nothing is more satisfying and awesome than this theme.
I really love soulslike games, and this one has been awesome so far! ❣️
Most entertaining and relatable play-through by far!
Kind of wild that Romeo can be either incredibly challenging or laughably easy all depending on what direction you choose to strafe and dodge.
Hi Marz. I am loving these series , one of the best games of this year.
Same
I'm on watching you play with more of
the Lies of P with part 6 and this was
a hard battle but you made it eventually
and it was really great and you are the
greatest Marz, have a really awesome
Thursday and take care my friend Marz
Thank You very much.⚔️🗡️👑🛡️👑🗡️⚔️
Finally you're back, i thought you had giving up on Lies of P. Can't wait for you to reach the last part of the game those last 3 bosses are tuff
Definitely get your vitality up 😂. By this point in the game it’s really hard to get by unless your vitality is at least like 30. You’re doing amazing though! Can’t wait for the next one
Always appreciate the uploads, since I'm a huge fan of the edits 😁 also...every time Marz wears glasses 🫠🫠
Such a great job and dodging around Romeo when you beat him such smart gameplay I'm too impatient and try and take out enemies to quickly so I take hits too often.
Marz has the best streamer channel. It just makes me feel happy and this game is awesome! :)
That was god tier RNG on your kill for Puppet King. He was super passive like that for me first time I fought him but had zero healing so died. Next time I saw him he went absolutely nuts on me and I was like “is this the same boss?” 😂
Yeah seriously sometimes they go NUTSO and you can't even move
Wow, it’s like the story of Pinocchio all in one game beautiful I don’t blame you, though that boss looked really hard
GG! The King was the first boss in this game that really truly gave me that Bloodborne high 'cus (spoilers to who've not defeated The King yet) the tempo in between phases reminded me of The Orphan of Kos ["Some say, 'Kosm'"]. I was sad when it ended. By the by, Panini didn't explain it very well, regarding the decoder, but I noticed that when I had a certain number of ergos; puppet boss messages started becoming more legible. GGs again! Cheers!
Same bro S tier boss fight ngl
That last fight was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dodge game was 🐐
I Subscribed 👍🏾
I love the intros you have been doing for this series lol
You finally got it! Patience is key. Strike and move away! Your blocks were really good here, much better than mine!
I hadn't even heard of this game until you started playing it. It's surprisingly souls-like. Looks good, I like the aesthetic.
I was absolutely raging at this game yesterday haha. Enjoying your playground!
Thanks for the video, Marzzzzzzzzz!
Grate Puppet Story.😍😍😍😍
Can't what for the Next EP.😍😍
Yay thanks for a new upload Marz. And yeah, the NieR Automata soundtrack is one of the best videogame soundtracks out there. I listen to it at least once a week. Anyways have a good one and take care Marz.
Impressive fighting the bosses solo. You should set aside a couple of weeks for the Green Monster of the Swamp though cos its a tough fight even with a specter. Also your damage seems really low. Maybe a respec is in order. Keep up the good work!
OMG good jobbbb. i have been fighting this boss so long now. im soo impressed. good jobb!!!!!!!!! i play lots of dark souls, and i can tell that this boss is one of the hardest bosses, vniceeeeeeee
Love the way you play that game Marz much love from Canada🥰🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦
Marz, I've been here since the beginning and have never laughed this hard at one of your videos as I did at 43:50. Holy shit.
Glad to see THAT puppet induces rage in EVERYONE who fights it.
Marz, you’re gonna rage so bad in the late game. No souls game infuriated me like this one did, and you rage way more than I do! 😂
Waited for this upload for a while
A very big congratulations and fantastic work for defeating this boss, I just want to add and I apologise in advance if this was already said, but if you want to make these bosses easier, throwing objects like saw blade, throwing cell, thermite, carcass body fluid bottle, cluster grenade and shot put are very helpful, with shot put you can use it on staggered enemies, instead of holding the heavy attack, making it a bit easier to perform the fatal attack, all of this is just a suggestion, lol I am not saying that you have to use this, of course you play how you want to, sorry for writing much and I hope you and everyone else that plays this game is enjoying it
I didn't think there could be a character in this game I thought was just as hot as Pinocchio. Romeo very much proved me wrong.
Ew
Damn what a frustrating fight, I cant imagine! But good job :)
Preist guy was way worse for me, but Puppet King was frustrating too
same here! from what i had heard about the king of puppets being this pinnacle of difficulty i was quite worried, but at least for me, he was not as bad as i thought he'd be. andreus took me a good 2 hours though, he on the other hand made me take a break from the game.
for me was the archbishop easier. at least you dont have to walk through a thin plank with fire chandelier swinging at you. and the archbishop guy had same patter if u just walk around. this phase 2 is completely different. so it takes you away from your flowwwww
Everything in this game became a breeze once I fully upgraded the aegis legion arm
And here I'm fucked by Black Rabbits gang over and over again
Thank you for all you do always believe no matter how dark it is keep going the sun will shine again take care of your self Marz and luka 😊
Congrats on 632k subs ❤
Love your videos thanks 😊
11:46 I do love how, of the all things Souls-like games could take from the _actual_ Souls games, it's the feature whereby your character can get stuck to or hit their weapons against random BS pixels, whilst all the enemies attacks can phase through giant ass walls in order to slamdunk the player.
You love it really.
@@edwardherbert I do... ;3
Dang, you got that hot librarian look going on.😍
hi friend it was great episode and epic boss fight i which i ever saw
The parrys where really clean on the boss, gratz
I completely missed that room with the library and hatch that leads to the door to get back to the fountain cause I was sure I had searched that side of the opera house till I had gone through like the next 3 or so areas lol
You have great insight, it is a sad boss fight. You will figure it out soon.
Hey Marz! King of Puppets took me between a dozen and twenty tries... The Swamp Monster later on took me way longer - I eventually decided to use a summon to beat it, lol. Parrying is very important in this game, but so far I'd say not essential. I've gotten past the Swamp Monster with barely doing any parrying. Anyways, hope to catch your stream sometime.
I destroyed all the bosses quick parrying lol
@@themysterykid1 I suck at parrying. And when you don't succeed in parrying, you feel extra silly since instead of blocking you take an attack full in the face. :D
I did beat Laxasia, Manus, and Nameless Puppet on the same day (Laxasia took me a long time, but Nameless Puppet just 2 tries!) with minimal parrying. So I love that the game can be rather forgiving for people like me who suck at parrying. :D
More lies of p. Love this series
Finally. I'm not sure good with following stories. I just jump in to play 😅
Romeo does the fire spam attack after you stagger and fatal attack him, and since you have not, he hasn't done it
Once i realised all you had to do was dodge left in the second phase it become a walk in the park!
I did the same thing with that clown 😂Just ran away hoping to find a checkpoint and thank god I did! I used the same handle as you but with the bone saw blade. He was horrible to fight, eventually beat him, but like did he have to be there? Followed by King and Romeo why?😅 Lovely vid as always Marz!
I've never seen him not use the fire flurry attack! But any way, well done on that fight!
Oh so this is the King that took too much out of ya huh? He must be a pain in the cahoots if it was that bad. I’ll eventually get to this boss, but it sounds like he’s a doozy! 😂
The king of puppets was an okay fight took 3 attempts solo for me. Are way harder bosses ahead tho am on NG+3 and getting tough :D
Loving the series tho keep up the awesome content 👏 🙃
Hi Marz, great job with the puppet king fight. Are you thinking about playing Lords of the Fallen after this?
It's not just luck, dodging was super clean and Romeo gets more agressive through the fight. I've found if you stagger him at certain times, he simply skips the flaming waterfowl move.
You need to microstagger him the during the animation of him firing his scythe. Best tactics is to stay close and rush him with couple of hits when you see him preparing fire attack. You cancel it and he is completely defenceless and open for couple of seconds (double profit).
That fire attack should not exist! Well done!
That simultaneous look of repressed anger and defeat...I know it too well.
No glitch. You dodged like a goddamn ninja and stayed close to him. Staying close and constantly landing hits when open prevents him from going berserker mode. You just played it great in my opinion.
I watched you live struggle so I didnt have to, I did him 1st try thanks to your efforts marz lol
Hope you start a play through of Lords Of The Fallen soon! 🎉
She learned the technique "dodge left" lol
I can't watch this series much. I want to play it. You awesome
Bro, she looks like a teacher that’s pretty cool
mr p gives 0 f for the king of puppets. Lul when he slapped his hand made me laugh ..i didnt expect it.
hey marz its me danny have a wonderful weekend and a wonderful holiday season your friend danny
No fire attack because when he was about to start it you interrupted it by striking him so he wasn't able to do it. Nice job!
You get an item in NG+ that translates what the puppets are saying. It’s called a decoder or something and you don’t have to equip it or anything.
I've never seen the unicycle bomb throwers do that multi swing attack or the 3 bomb toss before.
Would also be great to see you add a death counter
LES GO!
lmao wait til u fight the Green monster of the swamp 🤣😂🤣
In new game plus you can see what they're saying. It's pretty interesting.
Edit: You're very underleveled though, some grinding is definitely in order, otherwise it's probably going to get frustrating for you beyond the point of enjoyable challenge.
The opera house is a good grinding spot at this stage, one thing to know is that you can lure the dolls to the bottom of the stairs in the main hall and they will lose their strings buff because they'll be too far away from the spider lady, leaving you free to dispose of mama with ease (bait out the first aoe, then charged heavy with the dancers sword, back up a little to avoid the retaliation, repeat the charged heavy, should only take a couple of fully charged hits to take them down). Clearing out both sides, then bomb-arming the spider lady in the first corridor, then running back to the stargazer is a good shortish farming loop.
Not really it’s just this game involves a lot of parrying which is how I beat all the bosses
Legions arms are tuff give em a try
Man she was lucky he RNG'd out there. Mine did his skrrt skrrrt followed by his fire 20 wombo combo attack when his hp bar was like 25% that had me running across the arena. Strangely enough that worked and was able to kill him afterwards. Took me 2 hours.
For real though, the opera house opening hallway is a great levelling spot. Go in and kill the doll in the stairs. Then go left (or right) and kill the 2 dolls then head up stairs to milk the spider puppet. Head over to the opposite side and do the same. Teleport back to the stargazer. I was clocking around 1:30 and it’s decent ergo per run as well!
Killed this boss in half hour today, but tbh its mostly u had quite weak built, i used motivity and holy ark wep, cant w8 to continue playing this game
Yah for sure keep levels up and try using heavier weapons can do more damage
Ugh, that FN Clown took me longer than any of the actual bosses.
If you keep close to Romeo you may avoid his flame attack. Close and persistent in your attacks.
Allow me to give everyone some advice that'll make the game WAY easier.
1) Get the Aegis Legion arm.
2) Hold down L2 to block and then spam L1
3) This will let you get a perfect guard about 90% of the time.
I don't know if the company is going to patch this or if it's intentional or what. But when I figured out that once his arm was up when holding down L2 and then spamming L1 it would almost always get a perfect guard. Unfortunately, I figured this out during the last boss. I went from attempting the last boss about 20 times to beating him the first go. Then, on NG+ I breezed through the game with mostly the Aegis Legion arm and a maxed out Puppet String.
Don't sleep on the Aegis arm. Just hold down L2 and spam L1 when getting attacked. You can thank me later.
Loved this boss fight❤❤❤…took me like 4-5 hrs😅
This boss is tough fighting alone, especially he has a second phase which needs to be very careful. Once cleared the boss, the rest should not be a problem and enjoyable.
You can use your fable art to stagger enemies instead of charging a Heavy attack. Fable arts are really strong in this game.
I was trying to beat the game without the help of my spectre but i got frustrated with the brotherhood boss so i losed my patience and started using my spectre, i don't think i could beat the brotherhood and the king of puppets without my spectre, i just don't have the pattience to be dying 4 hours straigth but i hope i can beat the game in new game + without my spectre, i love seing you struggling and then beating the s#!++ out of them i just wish i could have the pattience and skill that u have, anyway awesome video as always peace and love ✌️
Boss health scaling is insane in ng+. It actually gets harder due to the fact the fight becomes longer.
Unless they’ve buffed the spectre health recently, you won’t find the spectre helpful that much.
Midir and Miquella would be proud of this boss fight!
Idk how people have the patience to play these type of games
Mary scare to king of puppet 😂
I finished the game last week and two pieces of advice to help you through the game.
1 - USE THROWABLES!!!! They help take a good chunk off the mini-bosses and even help with the main bosses. Thermite (fire) and Throwing Cells (electricity) are the best ones to use.
2 - The Shot Put throwable is a MUST use item in this game. Once a boss or enemy's health bar highlights, indicating a strong attach will stagger them, you can just throw the shot put and it will stagger them every time. No more having your strong attack interrupted and the stagger window going away. Try it, you won't look back :)
The clown mini boss passed me off so much with his attacks and took me forever to kill I hated his spinning attack so much.
hey honey your hardwork pays off everytime you make videos love your sweetheart danny
The Dancer's sword is such a cool weapon. I used it right to endgame on my Technique build.
If you can master the parry, it's super useful. Not only is it counted as a perfect block (can prevent damage from fury attacks), but it does almost if not as much damage as the blade fable art, at one third of the fable cost.
It's how I beat KoP; parried all the first phase attacks and demolished him fast enough to avoid taking damage, so I had full pulse cells for Romeo's fight. And the parry counter does a lot of stagger damage, so I could interrupt Romeo's attack chains and get damage in at the same time.
Edit: For anyone struggling with the first phase AOE attacks: Go toward him when he spins his arms (no damage zone immediately around him), and go away when he curls up (damage zone immediately around him but has a short range).
On my winning run, I hit him with a strong fable art as he was lighting his scythe. It literally just… beat him out of doing the attack
Strangely enough, this was the boss I had the least trouble with. I beat his first phase on the first try (no phantom), and beat his second phase on the second try. Every other boss has kicked my ass repeatedly, including minibosses, but there was something about this guy's attacks that I found really easy to deflect in the first phase. And you can just circle strafe Romeo.
When enemy health bars are flashing white, throw a shot put at them and it will stagger them. I beat the game without knowing this, and NG+ was way easier being able to do this at will.
if Romeo felt hard, just wait till you get to Laxasia
The swamp boss was the hardest for me as well as the nameless puppet
When the hottie started swearing 😂😂😂😂
