To this day, I have not had a more reliable RC model than the 'Wild Pony' 4X4 monster semi truck from RadioShack. Had a two speed and was able to charge the batteries without taking them out. I ran it EVERY DAY as a kid. For YEARS. Every day. It was like my best friend. I got too bold with water, and that ended it. Was a gift from my grandfather.
Hopefully you held onto it. I’m sure you could retrofit some new electronics or find a parts one. I miss radio shack and their cars they might not have been “hobby grade” but they were definitely part of my childhood and I definitely love them.
eGad, I was 30 years old in 1989. I wish I kept all my RC stuff from the 60s and 70s. I had lots of Cox stuff. I had some Tamiya buggies from the 70s too. All were lost in my many moves around the state of Michigan. Also, I remember I had the Audi Quattro from Radioshack. I think it was 1984-85 when I got that. It was one of those impulse buys when you go into a RadioShack stores. I think I was buying one of their 19 inch color TVs and added the RC to my RadioShack charge card.
@@WingnutsRC I’ve done many here on my channel. Next project on my channel will be a brushless radio shack golden arrow. It’s fun to convert these old cars to Modern electronics..
The one i wanted SO BAD as a kid in the 80s was the Radio Shack Golden Arrow. I begged and begged for it every year but, It was just too expensive for my family at the time. HOWEVER, i knew the power plant! It had an RS54OS motor. Then i looked around for similar RC cars with the same motor and found one in Kmart for half the price. I never got that Golden Arrow but, I did get one that was just as fast. Those were the golden years of RC. Miss those days so much.
Very cool! I have been looking to find one for my office as shelf queen but, ppl want so much for them. Even ones that are just junk. I did find one on eBay that was close to mint but, that thing went for HUGE money. I wouldn't mind having just a roller! @@WingnutsRC
Both of his are in very good condition and as you see, we actually have some NOS parts for them. He also has the boxes which have been stored in the attic so they are in perfect condition as well. When I dig them up I will definitely post a video, so make sure you stay tune to my channel Because they are going to be going up for sale. I know brand new in 1984 they were in the $300 to $400 range which was insane back then you’re talking 40 years ago.
When i was knee high to a grasshopper i managed to aquire a tamiya frog non working original. Obviously buying it took all the money so sadly nothing left to fix it :( .Being little in a poor family when star wars first came out and so did the toys was to say the least soul crushing. I spent all my days in the toy store watching star wars and looking at all the toys i couldnt ever have.
I grew up the same way however, I got really lucky my uncle who I lived with growing up, owned a hauling business and there were a couple people that cleaned out their kids toys so I got all the original Star Wars transformers, Masters of the universe and a whole bunch of other really cool 80s toys it was literally boxes of them and I still have most of them to this day
Wow dude! That's crazy u still have a black wolf! That was my very first RC, I actually have pictures my mom took of me playing with it and now I have to find them! Jeez.......that was like 33 years ago, I think I was 7 lol!

Absolutely after all, those are the cars that got us into it. They are the ones to blame!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I love old RC cars. I have a bunch of old RC Cars from Tyco to RadioShack etc… What cars would you sell? And which do you still have?
I believe I have all of the cars in this box, the two RadioShack cars and the Ford truck I would like to keep but the other ones I would sell
Turbo hoppers were the best.
Well, then, you definitely won’t want to miss my next video. I was actually just sitting here talking about doing one on my turbo hoppers.

Should swap a brushless motor in the scorcher 6x6 I did in mine was sorta easy an now it really rips donuts
I think I’m gonna try to sell the scorcher and rebound, but if they don’t sell, then both of them may get some upgrades. That’s a great idea.
