Mate knowing that Posty won with overwhelming force is humbling. Man can make millions through millions and still kick the ass's of seasoned MTG players
The production on this is so sick, shoutout to the crew and post crew behind the scenes, what a fantastic show. Posty is VERY funny and how dope that he’s a legit magic player.
It's amazing that Jimmy lost an infinite mana loop on his dockside turn. If he had returned Yawgmoth instead of Chainer, and sacced Garna with Dockside in response to Garna's trigger, Garna would return herself as well. Each loop would net 5 mana, 2 mana if he included Imperial Recruiter, and he'd draw 2 cards per loop. That with Imperial Recruiter should have meant Jimmy winning on that turn.
This is my intro to both The Command Zone and MTG in general. I'm BLOWN away and nostalgic because I grew up on Tabletop on G&S and it felt a lot like this just with the production being through the roof! The "back stage" banter and explanations and being able to really follow the whole game is just 👌👌👌
Hearing Post Malone say “…and then…” was everything. Magic: The Gathering is a game for everyone, it’s great to see that we all play it the same way too.
Josh: "I dont think I've had Shivan Dragon on my battlefield since '95" Me: LIAR!!! You had one a few years ago when you did the nostalgic episode with Graham and Kathleen from LRR
Jimmy missed that he had an infinite in play. During his long turn if he sacrificed Garna, the Bloodflame with it's own ETB trigger on the stack along with Dockside Extortionist both Dockside and Garna would have returned to his hand. He could then have cast both again, sacrificed both again with the new Garna trigger on the stack for a net gain of 5 treasures. He could have made infinite treasures and with Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Viscera Seer in play he could have put whatever card that he wanted on top of his deck and drawn whatever he needed to win.
sure, but if the other players werent so greedy and would have sacrificed their gold tokens in response to the dockside, he never would have gotten there.

@@Neofin Aside from the increased table talk, that's another thing that helped this ep feel way more 'real'. At an irl LGS, when a set is released, sure you get people building whole new things, but others don't, or just slot in a couple of new cards into older decks, so you'll often see more tables like this than the usual "everyone has a new Commander" deck.

This was one of the most fun games to watch just in terms of plays made and the decks themselves are great too. No annoying strategies that impair other people’s ability to play. On top of all this goodness we have post malone playing on gameknights like what the hell is this even real
I love Jimmy’s reference to Monty Pythons holy grail in his death message
49:50 Almost lost it when the Terminator theme played over resolving of Terminate
Dominik Beckmann Yeah! Was not expecting it.
See when Josh cast Ephemerate on Garth One-Eye he said that he would blink out, but what he meant to say is Garth will WINK out.
DEATH WINK!!!!!!!
Knowing that Posty plays Magic is the best.
Knowing that Posty doesn’t fully tap his cards is the worst.
Mate knowing that Posty won with overwhelming force is humbling. Man can make millions through millions and still kick the ass's of seasoned MTG players
@@kaiyencastus I meannnnn.. They kinda took it easy on him. You NEVER let someone draw that many cards with Rhystic Study.
As an old school MTG player I have to disagree, this is how we tapped when I started. This is ho Garfield intended it.
Honestly this is how everyone I have ever played with taps
I mean look at his old school commander, the T isn't sideways.
The production on this is so sick, shoutout to the crew and post crew behind the scenes, what a fantastic show. Posty is VERY funny and how dope that he’s a legit magic player.
I hope this LAUNCHES this channel into the stratosphere and helps magic come back faster than it already is
It's amazing that Jimmy lost an infinite mana loop on his dockside turn.
True. Even with Chainer he had the combo. Especially after he got the free sac outlet.
Lol... you realize they throw the game on purpose? They have said as much before. It's not a real game, it's an advertisement.
@@lolimmune nah they just dont wanna go infinite which i can concur is just boring.
yeah i think he let the game continue when he had it. maybe they figured it was a better game if post had a better chance.
@@Sn00pzor also people have to realize that Blunders are a thing
The part when the prof was saying that he tossed a deck box almost killed me. I laughed way too hard.
Lol. 🤣 Same!
I rewatched him say that like 10 times cuz it was too funny.
@@Acetru on h
I skipped the ads, but your comment made me rethink my ways of life... also REPRINTS REPRINTS REPRINTS!!!
This is my intro to both The Command Zone and MTG in general. I'm BLOWN away and nostalgic because I grew up on Tabletop on G&S and it felt a lot like this just with the production being through the roof! The "back stage" banter and explanations and being able to really follow the whole game is just 👌👌👌
Jimmy: Uh, that's all I can do.
Also Jimmy: Just played the exact same turn 5 times in a row without actually taking extra turns.
Hearing Post Malone say “…and then…” was everything. Magic: The Gathering is a game for everyone, it’s great to see that we all play it the same way too.
Entire episode summed up into one sentence: "Do you pay for rhystic study?"
And the answer is shockingly, "no"... I can't believe hoe many free cards they gave Post and Josh over the game..
@@VowNix If they payed every time then they wouldn't have enough mana to play the game, especially since 2 players had the effect.
Not horsemanship?
We say toss a coin to the witcher.
Man that was fun to watch! Jimmys comeback loop play had me on the edge but posty and his 10 8/8s on horseback sheeeesh
Josh: "I dont think I've had Shivan Dragon on my battlefield since '95"
Me: LIAR!!! You had one a few years ago when you did the nostalgic episode with Graham and Kathleen from LRR
That was a good episode too. Graham really showcased the power of revealing cards.
My buddy still plays his 7th edition holo shivan dragon. And I love it
Here for this
Jimmy missed that he had an infinite in play.
Jimmy sacrifice his win to all have fun
Its like mayweather holdin logan up
was going to post the same thing. Garna is a great card that's really slept on
sure, but if the other players werent so greedy and would have sacrificed their gold tokens in response to the dockside, he never would have gotten there.
I have a Garna deck built to do that exact thing.
Josh: "We have the biggest gest we've had in the show"
Cassius Marsh watching at home: "I'm gonna crack some heads"
Guest* and post Malone is at least 20x bigger than Cassius
If you go by Instagram followers post Malone has 220x more followers than Cassius
I feel like Cassius would be marshd, until he sees the full episode and becomes charmed by Posty's charisma.
Is it gonna be an episode of Post and Cassius playing at I hate your deck channel or is just my imagination?
I think I saw that too!
I've never finished an hour long video here in UA-cam, but this video takes the cake! Legends! Subscribed.
Asmoranomar: "Milord, Post intends to turn me into a farmer."
Jimmy: "Quick! Dive into this oven and get roasted."
Asmoranomar: "Sounds like a plan!"
You're a legend
Magic flavor is sometimes the greatest....but people can like crazy interactions like this, then the instant they see "Godzilla cats power word kill on Carl from Walking Dead" they lose their mind
@@Matisyahuwu i think the problem is not "sorin from innistrad turned to creature crews my submarine from ixalan to block a band of 5 dinosaurs summoned from around the multiverse" its "Carl from Walking dead *trademark* blocks my space marine from warhammer 40k *trademark* so my demogorgon from stranger things *trademark* gets through".
There is a difference between those.
😂👌
"I'd rather die a chef than to live to become a farmer!"
Josh: "So I have a very simple goal here: get as much damage on Jimmy as possible"
When ISN'T that Josh's goal???
Guess when he has an alternate win con?
The bond between any two friends that play magic that will always transcend time itself requires dealing as much damage to that mofo you love so much.
Made Jimmy seem sorta like the real winner as he forced everyone to gang up on him like that! You know you’re doing a great job in a group game when you are the one everyone wants to gang up to kill!
Jimmy is BOSS in MTG group games imo 😎
@@williambrown5934 Josh considers Jimmy a threat just by playing a land and wants to gang up on him.
@@williambrown5934 not really it was a mistake to go after him with captive audience up and a rise of the dark realms pending lol
I know with his schedules it’s not always possible but the chemistry between friendly ol Posty and the rest of the guys makes me wish he was a regular
This video is my first experience with Magic. It is brilliant 🤗! As a Yu-Gi-Oh player I can say that this duel was fun af!! Thank you guys for letting me know that Magic is a beautiful game. From now on I am determined to start playing a lot of Magic and make it my first TCG priority!!! Excellent job guys!!
Yeah Yu-Gi-Oh is wack icl
Oh my God you guys this editing look beyond polished, this is how I always wished for when watching commander gameplay. The animations, the Characters quotes, the effects, everything looks sooo fun to watch and get into. I'm nearly in years, congratulations!
I wish WotC had the same enthusiasm and love for the game as you, and not just make the a game a mostly financial hobby. Postie being on the show truly marks a new era !!
Jimmy and Josh: Let's do a Modern Horizons 2 commander game with Post Malone!
PM: Sure, can I bring a commander from Ice Age?
Josh: Ummm.... We are kind of doing a thing?
PM: I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that.
Ashlen: Sure, I'll bring my Xantcha deck, whatever.
Lmao. Probably that's what happened. But with a big star like post you gotta let hime bring his deck
I like that they bring in a bit more home brew flavor. Thats what made the early episodes so great.
Ashlen should’ve just played Eldrazis then lol
This makes sense 😅
@@Neofin Aside from the increased table talk, that's another thing that helped this ep feel way more 'real'. At an irl LGS, when a set is released, sure you get people building whole new things, but others don't, or just slot in a couple of new cards into older decks, so you'll often see more tables like this than the usual "everyone has a new Commander" deck.
That intro is INCREDIBLE!! Great job to the editing team!!!
yeah
I absolutely love the colour tints for the different scenes. It's a subtle reminder of the importance of colour in Magic -- great implementation of that concept!
tThere is nothing more pure and wholesome than the energy in the early turns as it seems like the JLK, Ashlen & jimmy really want to be positive toward the biggest celeberity they've ever had on the show, which is wonderfully heightened by the fact post seems to act and think along the same lines toward them
well, the 3 of them are fans of him, and vice versa
Everyone is getting siked about Post, but I was happy to see Prof. in the Raycon commercial.
“I threw the deck box out the window of a train going 137 MPH, it didn’t open but there was a scratch. C+”. That was great Prof.
That add had me crackin like mad. Much love Prof.
yeah i rather have prof there than some guy on the radio
Post being a special guest is definitely a great. I just wanted to highlight how special it was that Prof and the Command Zone could do an IRL collab during these times.
I really liked his train comment it was great.
8:17 that Cho'gath sound effect does not go unnoticed
Post Malone: turn 1 sol ring.
Everyone at the table: “Yeeeeeaaaaaah!”
lololol it was on like donkey kong when he did that
I mean, we SHOULD target the turn 1 sol ring player, buuuut...

To be fair it's not exactly one of those "reading the card explains the card" situations. It's a wall of text and it just says "regrowth" without actually saying what regrowth does on the card. And it's brand new.
@@cosmicturban2797 what?
@@cosmicturban2797 uhm, everyone knows what regrowth does…
@@cosmicturban2797 regrowth is a card from alpha, (magic's first set), and has been reprinted 9 times.
I still think they should have added force of nature on that list, but Shivan dragon is pretty epic. I pulled one at a flea market in a 15 dollar revised pack back in 97 98?
