I’ve done this kind of look with stucco and stone using the method you used and I absolutely love the outcome. I really love the colors you’ve used for the stones and I’m looking forward to see what color you choose for the stucco. So happy to see this series start.
@deenafrayo yes, isn't it so much fun using the foamboard! I'm really loving how it's transforming Deena 😊 I'm going to mix a few colours to get the stucco colour that the client has asked for, so I'll be able to do some subtle shading so it's not one solid color

I love the look of brick exposed under failing stucco. It's definitely one of my favorites. I'm looking forward to watching the process. It looks great so far.

Love the solutions you come up with your mini builds and always wonder how you get everything done with your commissions, shop, pottery, etc. The "stonework" looks amazing! I'll be waiting for the next installment!
@UlsterCountyNY well I love setting goals to try new things, so it builds your "vocabulary knowhow". And the secret of getting so much accomplished is to work more or less seven days a week....oh, and to be partnered with a loving human being that just happens to have OCD, so that I hardly ever have to stop to do any cleaning in the house! 😂

At first we where quite quizzical about the foam board but man!! What a great job you’re doing and the detailing. Lesley said your brickwork 🧱 colour was the same as Nigel 🐱 beautiful colour. Your going above and beyond with this one Rich quiet excited to see each development 👍
@JohnBurke67 well I end up making a lot more work for myself, because when designing a commission for a client, they just listen to your ideas and go from there. So I could easily have suggested brick and stone effect paper to stick on, but I wouldn't have been happy with the "quick fix" when I already started thinking up more detailed work 😊

Rich, I am so happy that this is the project, as I am planning to make a model of my grandparents home in an Aegean (Greece) village that is now much over 350 years old. So the walls are similar. But I also see the wonderful possibility of using the foam board for other houses I would like to work on. I am the type of miniature enthusiast that buys or makes all the furnishings, etc. before having the buildings. (I know...makes for boxes of items with no place to go.) Your renovation of the front is excellent!
@maroulio2067 oh I know just what you mean about buying/making items for a house that hadn't been done yet! I have so many items now for the huge Georgie's Palace now, and the house is basically just a storage unit for it all until I make time to begin work on it!

I’m curious about how well this sticks. I followed someone else’s advice and added Mod Podge and paint to my mixture. I applied mine to chipboard…so far, so good…but I left mine rough, no sanding and I added white paint, as I wanted a white surface.
@carmencreamer3769 well at the moment it is working well, but when I've covered the whole building, my plan is to put another layer of modpodge on to seal the whole thing
