I was eagerly hoping for a yellowbelly C&O steam engine, some reissued thomas engines with sound, that chocolate polar express sound car reissued. And with current lionel pricing, the used market at york, on muffins auctions , and sometimes, trainz, is a much better bang for buck. Small 12 inch diesel engines should not be over $340. I had one really liked item in the catalog, that sky blue gg1 american railroad engine, but the 11 cars are $2003 and the engine $1420 ish, both at charles ro. That exceeds my budget given my recent polar express and m road preorders in the last budget year. But, lion does amazing things with all that detail. Thanks for your support...ryan and I are slowly getting back to the trainboard. Gary
Much appreciated, John. We both look forward to these first catalog reviews. He and I have been doing our own run throughs since the early mth catalogs in the years 2000, then and now, for the fun of it. Much appreciated. Gary
I've been waiting for your catalog video to come out, and the 2 of you didn't disappoint. I love watching your natural reactions to seeing the catalog. It's not scripted, and gives a honest approach. Please keep doing this for every catalog. Love it.
Thanks so much, Del. We both enjoy the surprises of a new catalog. Personally, I love those American Freedom sky blue passenger cars, probably in my top 5 passenger cars sets. But, I'll new a bank loan . For 11 cars, about $2000. Gary
@RaysTrains Thanks so much, Ray. Ryan and I like sharing our first look st the catalog. This started many, many years ago when, Ryan , age 8, and I sat and went thru the mth catalogs. Back then, ryan either made copies or cut out his favorites from an extra catalog and mounted them on his bedroom wall. Gary
I haven't pre-ordered anything this far from Charles Ro. I'm definitely ordering this catalog from them. Their prices really are the best! I really want the Conrail GG1 or the Pennsy #4800. Great review. Love the enthusiasm!!
@Keiths_OGauge_Trains Thanks so much keith. We like charles ro lionel pricing, better than any, with great shipping. The downside is no paypal to spread purchases over 6 months, with no interest charges at muffins or other vendors that accept paypal. Gary
@user-op1su2by5v Thanks so much. We always look forward to the catalog release. Actually, we wish lionel would offer more semiscale or lionmaster at a lower price point. Perhaps a conrail or that silver gg1 . I think it would be new, additional sales to people who might not afford or justify the higher priced scale versions at $1420 each. Or, perhaps their curves would not allow the bigger, full scale engines. What's you opinion? Gary
Gary doesn't seem pleased Ryan did you get last year's CNJ heritage unit.I am eyeballing the Reading heritage unit.I am going to wait to see how the paint job is I got the NYC heritage unit earlier this year.Nice shiny engine

@@davidjenkins1484 we appreciate charles ro very lowest prices, best shipping charges bar none. The tradeoff is no 6 month paypal financing. We then have to find a credit card that gives 18 months with no interest. Gary
Charles Ro has better prices, if you're ordering one or two expensive locomotives. If you're planning to spend more than $4,000, Mr Muffin's will give you a better price.
Ryan, You called the GG1 a diesel but as of a matter of fact it’s all Electric, the part you add smoke fluid into was known as the engineers/conductor heating box and why it smokes periodically also you mist the fact that #4800 “rivets” is the only one with the rivet details as the rest are smooth art deco shells 😉

I love the contrast between Ryan’s enthusiasm and Gary’s bluntness. Great video gentlemen.
Your comments are much appreciated. Yes, we have very different personalities, but we're definitely train guys. Gary
Glad to see another video, thanks!

@@TheTrainboard haha yes! I notice the absence of PayPal. That’s pretty much the way I get most of my preorders…..PayPal Credit. 😂
Great video guys! I enjoyed your content!
Thank you!! Lots more coming soon!
Welcome back gents! Good to see you again, I was getting worried!
Thanks for sticking with us Wayne! We always appreciate seeing you in the comment section 💖
Its great that your back. I sure did miss you guys. I have a tiny little thank you gift for finding that dome car for me. See you at the Edison show.
@user-sp5ts8ri8x thanks so much, from two guys to another train guy. We value your friendship much. Gary
Thanks guys---That means alot because I'm pretty much a loner in the train world
Great video and wow the prices are way to high as usual with Lionel as always.

Preorder GG!s $1420 Charles Ro. Even non-preorder price would be not much more than other dealers preorder.

@@TheTrainboard Sure I understand. I'm ordering the "Old Rivets" Pennsy #4800 from Ro.
@davidjenkins1484 I hope you post a video because is should look espially nice. Not certain what cars I'd run with it but there are many choices. Gary
The #4800 locos, Pensy and Conrail are "Old Rivets" the original body shells and graphis. You probably couldn't tell and Lionel barely mentioned it.
Yeah, Lionel should have made it more apparent. @Dakman showed the real #4800 in his latest video, and you can see the rivets. - Ryan
I have a New Future Steam Locomotive for me.
Which one?

It’s not a class A its a N&W Y6B!!!
I know, my mistake. I realized later in the video. - Ryan

There was a lot I missed due to my excitement, lol. And my bad for calling it a diesel, old habit from when I was a kid. - Ryan
