I’m a woman and I take 200mg of L-Theanine once a day on an empty stomach. It has made a HUGE difference in my life! I developed severe anxiety after experiencing a panic attack due to stress. I feel more relaxed, no more feeling on edge, heart palpitations, it lowered my hr, I’m more focused, less muscle tension, no more tight chest or pit in the stomach feeling, and it uplifted my mood. Side effects include: a slight headache, increased bowel movement and libido. I’ll take this any day over the horrible physical symptoms of anxiety. I call it the miracle pill for stress & anxiety. I’m so grateful that I finally found something natural that works for me.
I’m glad to hear it’s working so well for you! That’s awesome 😌🙏
@@FeelingIsHealing Thank you so much for your genuine and honest review.
@@starlight9823 You're so welcome! Thank you for watching, sending well wishes 😌🙏
Thank you for this comment. I have used L theanine for 2 days already and felt significant difference with my anxiety. 200mg x 2 a day for my severe anxiety after a big panic attack. My jaw then has loosened up and my globus sensation renoved. My tongue didn't feel swollen from anxiety. I feel relaxed. Slept better and hoping for the best for the days to come. I also felt like my thoughts do not wander around unlike before with severe catastrophic thoughts. Thank you for sharing your journey, made a lot of difference from someone across the globe.
What brand? Do you still take it?? I used to take it before bed
How amazing is this video. It’s so clear and explained
One of the best reviews giving both pros and cons. All other UA-camrs just selling this . I agree with brain fog
The description you gave of your anxiety is identical to mine man, I’m gonna give this a go!
Interesting! Let me know how you get on. All the best! 😌🙏

I take Omega-3s fish oil gels with 2 L-Theanines: GREAT COMBINATION. It's helped me out a lot
does Omega 3 helps wit h benzo withdrawal ? tia. took it for 8 weeks and trying to come off slowly,
I'd stay away from those fish oil pills
It's hard to find some that aren't rancid and pretty much useless. You can eat wild caught Alaskan salmon or
take ground up organic chia seeds for my omega 3's
@@anna_256ow did that work out for you? I took benzos for 3 weeks and now trying to come off slowly too, was surprised that I developed dependence for it so fast, and it was just a small dose of 0.5 mg Clonazepam daily.
@@anna_256omega-3 will not help with benzo withdrawal. A very slow taper down to .125mg is your best option. Switch to a healthier diet and start exercising for best overall physical and mental recovery.
Great video mate. Very helpful
My pleasure man, thanks for watching.
Im a functional nutritionist and I have to say that gut and brain are linked , In other words when your gut is off your brain is off , causing brain fog as well as anxiety ,, most people think that brain fog is hormonal issues , however it is really caused by gut dysbiosis or sometimes even leaky gut . I’m saying all this bc I had lots of anxiety many years ago and it was SIBO ( small intestinal bacteria overgrowth) very common . Once I fixed that anxiety all went away ,, never had it again … forward to today started having it and I think I have Candida overgrowth in my gut .. functional medicine finds the root cause … get tested and find your root cause and get it treated . 😊
Thanks for your comment Terri! I have also been working on healing my gut lately and it has helped somewhat 😌
Check out olive leaf extract 👍
Where do you get this tested and what kind of doctor for this?
How did you fix your SIBO? Mine is extremely stubborn.
Keep strong beautiful. Take it all one day at a time. Try sit in the sun. Think of things that make you smile. Do new hobbies. I totally understand you.

Great video. You seem like a nice person. You did a great job. I’ve been on Klonopin for bout 6 months for anxiety. I only take.5 mg per day but can tell I need more so I’m hoping this L-Theanine will take the edge off and hopefully allow me to wean off the Benzos.
You should add magnesium to ur diet. Good for anxiety and helps constapation.
Thank you for the kind words, they're much appreciated. I hope that L-Theanine helps you somewhat, let me know how you get on! & you're right, magnesium is awesome, i've been taking a teaspoon a day for a few years now.
Be careful with the Klonopin. Benzos are sneaky and the dependency they can cause is wild. Don't mean to scare, it's just that most people (and doctors) don't realize how powerful benzos are.
I just ordered half a kg of L-Theanine powder, videos like these are really great.
Also there are multiple studies on L-Theanine and its effects on cognitive functions, sleep quality, even for people with ADHD there are studies regarding its effect on people with ADHD, and their sleep etc.
Thank you for the kind words! They are much appreciated, that's awesome, all the best with your order. Keep me posted with how you get on, all the best 🙏
Thank you for your review. I experienced exactly the same as you taking L-Theanine. A headache. I took 100mg x 2 per day, had terrible headache, my research suggested it caused low blood pressure. Then I went down to 50mg x 1 per day. Today I’m trying 100mg x 1 in the morning on an empty stomach. I too felt I was getting into loop of worrying over whether I would need the loo. I tried this lower dose and felt calmer. I want to get to the state where I can call on it when I need it. I bought the loose powder. I might buy some empty capsules and fill them with the dose I want. Thanks once again for you great review.
Hi Kay, my pleasure, i'm happy to hear you found it useful. Sounds a good plan regarding empty capsules as well as the goal of getting to a place where you can call on it when needed. Wishing you all the best from here!
@@FeelingIsHealing How is it still working for you? Anymore side effects? Any racing heart or palpitations from taking it?
@@2007vwbeetle I'm no longer taking it, only took it for a month or so but stopped due to headaches and brain fog.
@@FeelingIsHealing wow never heard that side effect…sure wasn’t another supplement in there that would do that?
@@2007vwbeetle It's possible the brain fog was maybe from something else, but this spaced out heady feeling, bordering on a headache was from the L-theanine
I feel like it is helping me and I’ve had a couple of headaches as well . I take Magnesium at night so maybe that’s why I don’t have constipation . Also , I drink apple cider vinegar for my stomach and most times before I take suppliments . Especially in the morning . I feel like the acid helps break down the suppliments .
That's interesting, thanks for stopping by and sharing. 🙏
The headaches go away once your body gets use to taking the supplement I found.

Nice review. I noticed this apathy especially. Theanine is not a long term solution, it is a nice and quick meditation pill when you want it, short term. The long term solution is to lower the anxiety levels by will, progressively, with daily deep relaxations. Let us keep experimenting and reviewing ;)
Thanks Leo, great points! I agree, the end goal should be to do what we can to look within in order to heal, in the meantime it's okay to use supplements or antidepressants if they're really needed for some stability, not to use as a crutch, but as a springboard to work on yourself and your deep rooted issues. Yes, life is all in the experimenting and figuring out what works for us :D
What do you mean apathy? Does it have lack of apathy or increased apathy?
Have you thought of using magnesium as well? It is very good for depression and anxiety, magnesium is good for headaches too, if you getting headaches frequently please get checked out. B complex is good for energy levels also. Vitamin D is good for depression, it’s called the sunshine vitamin even though it’s a hormone. Hope that helps.
Hey Thom, thanks for the recommendations! I do take magnesium, generally around 2 teaspoons of the "Calm" brand in some warm water. What dosage do you take? My only issue with it, is it's tough on my already dodgy digestion issues. I will look into B complex too, can you recommend a good brand? Thanks again 😌🙏
@@FeelingIsHealing Try mag glycinate it's much better and will also help digestion and migraines/headaches.
i also take 300mg mag glycinate as well as 2000mg taurine and 1000mg glycine, especially before sleeping. i take thyanine 2x100mg a day. the last time i took 300mg, i was also quite brain fogged and wobbly on my legs the next day. so i will stick to max 200mg.
what else i can recommend is gaba... 1000mg also before going to sleep. after 30-40min it kicks in and you notice how it calms you down nicely. ideal if you feel extremely nervous inside.
Gotu Kola is amazing for sleep or general sense of calm all day, also helps improve brain function, valerian root similar but not as smooth, but if you want a general kood stabalizer all day and even performance enhancement for gym, Taurine is profoundly subtle as a nootropic, A more advanced notable mention would be methylene Blue,
Bonus option:
ALCAR
Thanks for your answer. I'm thinking of you also coming off medication. L Theanine has worked wonders for me. But I tapered to fast.. Lol now I'm in a hold. I stopped talking it for now, but when I'm off the benzo, I'll see what the panic is after. Thanks keep us updated on how you do. Sending you lots of good whiches. 💞🕊️ Please look into lithium Oritaite.. Also a great supplement for panic. Let us know.
Hi Louise, it's good to hear from you again. Returning well wishes your way & thank you for the recommendation, I will check lithium orotate out! Take care 😌
@Louise Bam, did you taper Benzo or Antidepressant?
Is it safe to take L-theanin WHILE still on Andidepresant (prozac) and reducing benzo? (Clonazepam, curently 3x0.25mg/day)
Im trying to find natural alternative to Benzos, and there are many! Its just that I dont have the freedom to try them bc some counteract with Ad.
(I think CBD works wonders but am too scared to use it untill I talk to my psychiatrist..hopefully he will know if its safe and what dose)
I have tried it (powder form) for 5 days and I think the effective kicked in the 3rd day. Since I have been warned from you about the exceeding dosage can cause side effect as headache, I tried my best to use it less than one teaspoon per dosage.
I'm tapering off my benzodiazepine medication. Will this help me to feel a little better? This is the Hardest thing I've ever done. Thank you. God bless you 🕊️💕
Hi Louise, it could be worth a try to see if it helps, I find CBD helps me more than L-Theanine, but each person is different. I’m also tapering off medication at the moment, it can be really tough. Wishing you well
Cool.
Loving L-Theanine , i take 400mg daily split up. My plan is taking it for 6 months, coming off for a few , repeat
That's awesome! I'm happy to hear it's working for you, the split up method sounds good 🙏
How did it go
Never had somebody describe how I feel so accurately
Hope you're doing okay Schawn 😌🙏
When is best y take it ? Morning or night ?
I take St.John’s Wort and Ginkgo Biloba or Ginseng w/ VitD & Omega 3 fish oil helps a lot sometimes I alternate with Teas &/ coffee never exceeding 6-8 ounces as early as 6a and no later than 10a oh yeah..& if I for some reason one have a hard time to getting to sleep at night ..there’s Lemon Balm Tea Chamomile Tea and also maybe even magnesium
Thanks for making the time to make these recommendations. Some good ones there! I hadn’t heard of St John’s Wort or Ginkgo Biloba before
@@FeelingIsHealing Yes my pleasure!& yeah ..look into it hopefully it’s something you can try and works as well!🙏🏽☺️
May I ask if your anxiety symptoms are there all the time or just in certain situations?
I can pass through a week at a time with constant anxiety regardless of the situations. Other weeks I’ll be okay. It can vary. Hope you’re doing okay 🙏
How long did it take for you to notice it was helping? Specially with sleep? I’m not on any anxiety meds so I’m wondering if it will still work?
It took me 3-4 days to begin noticing a difference, it should still have an effect whether you're on meds or not. Wishing you the best with it, let me know how it goes 😌🙏

Ive really been looking into this amd many other things that can be calming and help with sleep .
It strikes me that alot of people are talking supplements for anxiety and obviously yes nobody wants anxiety but its there as a kind of red light warning that something isn't right and that unprocessed emotional stuff could be the cause.
Aren't supplements just switching off our warning signs really .
Have you experience any tolerance long term? I am hoping to take it daily.
Hey, I personally didn't, though i'm not the best person to ask as I stopped taking them after 6 weeks or so
A weird side effect I get is hot flashes, then I get very sweaty, but it's intermittent. And I also get constipation with it.
Interesting, I definitely had constipation whilst taking it

I don't have anxiety or depression. I just bought some, but I was wondering if you would still recommend it?
It's not really for me to recommend, it's probably better to speak with a medical professional.. I'm curious, what made you buy them? Could always start with a very low dose and see whether you like how you feel on them or not.
