Hi Gylfi, please make sure you have fun in your work! Your work is very appreciated and the pressure is not from our side. Please relax and keep your cool! You don’t have to be at an eruption as the first one filming. I love your videos for the information you supply. That is your extra value. Please don’t loose that and become just an other one streaming live vulcano’s. You give us the big picture Thanks for tour work
That is the same I would say to you - please don't worry about it and don't set yourself under a pressure, we love your pictures and your work, your words, but your voice sounds too sad... Keep strong...
I really appreciate your video updates. I lived in Iceland for 15 years, and to see those shots taken from the hood of the car makes me want to pack up everything and move back. I miss it a lot.
I think you have to go packing because those hood videos are here to stay in huge quantity :) They will drive you crazy until you come :) welcome back :)
".... we will deal with what ever happens" and "We remain hopeful..." Two phrases that are the embodiment of the Icelandic people. Hopeful determination to survive has kept You going for the last 1000+ years. God grant that it sees You through the next 1000 !:-) 🙏💜⚡
A CD of Joe Cocker speaks for itself. Enjoy all moments. Nature will do what it wants. We are just another living organism that we must respect the decisions and balance the outcomes. Thank you Gylfi for continuing your journey and this content. Much appreciation from Greece. Stay safe.
It’s 2:50am in Ontario Canada and I found your video just before closing my eyes for another day. Such beautiful land to admire along with your narration. Thank you Gylfi.
Thank you for all of the great footage of Iceland.Keep it coming, and not necessarily just the volcano. Iceland is one of those places that really intrigued me.
I think you are an Icelandic national treasure. The country should give you special recognition. You are documenting a very important part of Iceland's history. However please give yourself enough down time to relax. I was in Iceland in June and it was a life-changing, amazing experience. Your new equipment is doing an even better job of capturing amazing footage of Iceland. I think your number of subscribers is increasing. You should have far more. I love your idea of selling your footage to commercial businesses.
Good Day Gylfi. I have not spoken up since I began watching your UA-cam Channel late last year. However, I will today. You are not only a wonderful narrator, but a great story teller. You have gained my utmost respect and gratitude for the incredible job you do in keeping the entire world informed on the very latest news from Iceland regarding the situation in Grindavik and the nearby Blue Lagoon and Svartsengi power plant. You often mention the fact that you are not a professional volcanologist, but your knowledge of plate tectonics, earthquakes and all things related to volcanic eruptions is none the less quite impressive. My purpose in speaking up today is that I have been closely watching the frequency and locations of all of the earthquakes in that area, and while it might sound as if I am an unwelcome harbinger of doom, I have been getting a sense that a worst case scenario may be about to occur. The latest earthquake pattern shows that there is something brewing just outside of boundaries of the town. Those of us who have been keeping a close watch on these events can’t help but remember the day (late last year) that the lava breached the surface inside the barrier that had been built and destroyed three homes at the outskirts of the town. From what I am now seeing in the seismic data is that the majority of the quakes are very close to the town and also the U.S. Naval transmitting antenna station just outside of town. I sincerely hope that I am wrong about what this means for Grindavik. I recall that you yourself have strong ties to the town from your past. All the same, I am presenting this theory as a (Possible) scenario for the upcoming eruption. I both welcome and encourage skeptics to join in the discussion. I honestly hope for the best for Grindavik and the thousands of people who have called this vital seaport town home for (in some cases) their entire lives. It is my hope that those people will once again be able to return to their homes and their community. My very best regards to you Gylfi. Michael M :)
Thank you very much Michael for your kind comment about my work, it's always nice to here it from viewers that I'm on the right path, and i'm actually just starting since I have more plans for the channel that will be reviled soon :) As for Grindavik it looks more and more likely that we will see something "different" this time with this increased amount of magma ready but how this will develop is way to hard for me to say, so I don't even try it, but I don't see the power plant survive nor the Blue Lagoon if this continues, at the lowest spot in land miles around. But the town has a better chance in my opinion, so all we can do is to remain hopeful! regards from Iceland...
Very nicely said Michael. I was in Iceland this June. It was a life-changing and amazing experience. We were lucky enough to drive on a temporary road that took us alongside Grindavik on our way to Blue Lagoon. There was steam from just below the ground on both sides of our vehicle and and thick 'fog' in front of us. I can't guess how high the protective walls are that were built to protect Blue Lagoon and the nearby thermal plant. Grindavik is a beautiful little town. Construction of all kinds of buildings and roads in Iceland are extremely well done. It's hard to believe that only 375,000 people live there and do such a remarkable job of providing services to even the smallest areas of the countries.
🇦🇺 So, mother nature continues to confound the experts. My daughter is currently in Iceland, drone filming for a week. She has made many photographic trips to Iceland and this time it looks like she will still be there for the much anticipated eruption.
Thank you Glyfi your work is very much appreciated and the insight into Iceland as a whole country, not just the volcanic activity and not just focussed on the usual region(s). All this and beautiful camera work as well 💞
Hi Gylfi, another splendid video. @robertwillemsen368 hit the nail on the head with his comment. Your videos and reports are what bring a lot of viewers back to your channel. No sensationalism, just the facts and actual observations. Keep up the great work and take good care of yourself. Sending you greetings and best wishes from NZ.
Your videos provide an opportunity to see the wild and beautiful aspects of Iceland, the strength and power of the volcanic activities, past and present, as well as a look at the towns and cities, and the homes of the strong and determined citizens. Thank you for sharing and please stay safe.
The footage of the lava field around Svartsengi and the scope and size you capture with your video is beyond amazing. Hello and greetings from Bavaria, nice to hear you Gylfi. I once had a pothole road like this in Romania on the back of the Transfagaras High Road, a mountain group in the Transylvanian Alps. One pothole after another. No changes to avoid with the motorcycle. Gave me a phobia. Whenever I saw a shadow on the road I braked because I thought it was a hole. It took me a while to put it down again.

2:35 Thank you for sharing that little tidbit of info. I must say that I am kind of surprised to learn that there are about 20 houses currently occupied/being lived in. I did not think the authorities would permit that, saying the town is too unstable or something along those lines. If the next eruption does erupt inside of the constructed berms, as I suspect that it might, I pray these folks can quickly hightail it out of town and keep themselves safe!
They are slightly fewer now but if this starts with earthquakes as usual, they will have Tim to evacuate, but I agree, it's a bit risky...especially for those in the houses in the north part of the town...

Thank you Gylfi, your work is beautiful and informative. Iceland looks amazing through your eyes and camera lens with all the spectacular views and interesting stories. Mother nature sure does not like being "predicted" and listening to all the work you are doing and things you are preparing, I don't think I would be worried so much about the eruption...I would be worried about all those pot holes you showed you have to navigate...that's a lot of potholes😬 I really love the work you are doing, I hope the weather holds out for you. Thanks again.
@@JustIcelandic so my lame theory is earth was hit with multiple meteorites in succession, the timeline for this happening, i cannot picture. Thank you so much Christian with greetings from the volcano island :)
Greetings Gylfi. Your drone footage is spectacular. I truly appreciate the time and effort you are taking with these updates.
Always a pleasure to view your lovely films Gylfi. Hope you are avoiding speeding fines !
Thank you for such stunning footage! Your work and updates are very much enjoyed and appreciated.
Many thanks!
So looking forward to visiting next may /June. We have only 2 weeks but will see what we can
Welcome to Iceland :)
thanks for the great footage gylfi
all i can say is best wishes to iceland with all the activity going on
stunning views of Iceland you have never let us down stay safe and all the best with your jeep
Thanks a ton :)
@@JustIcelandic so my lame theory is earth was hit with multiple meteorites in succession, the timeline for this happening, i cannot picture.
In my theory, they were mainly made up of frozen water, salt may be a alien substance to this world, brought here by the meteors, it could of existed here, but my theory is erring on the meteors containing salt.
If, and only if i am 1percent correct, gold and silver were were also brought here by the meteors
Still trying to work out the other stuff
Tak Gylfi you always have so much information on everything going on in iceland I really appreciate you videos and updates

Trust your intuition and you will be at the right place at the right time!
Might be, iv'e not been accurate all the time though :)
@@JustIcelandic Intuition is something, some people have, some don't. But you can train it, like a muscle. 😉

Greetings to Canada :)
Well, here we are, within the time frame that you predicted. I can't wait for your "I told you so!" video! 😁
I'm looking forward to seeing the video project you've been working on, but not so much that I would want to see you burnt out trying to get it done. Please take your time and don't let this overwhelm you. It will happen when it happens. 🙂
Fascinating and beautiful as ever!
Many thanks :)
Good Morning! Thank you for an update! I think this is a kind of waiting game going on....
It really is! but I would say its erupting in less than 2 weeks.
@@JustIcelandic Right now I could say it is a safe bet, BUT. We are all familiar with the mother Nature.
