I think what amazes me the most about this horse, apart from the way he goes about his work. Is that during his warm ups and during his tests through all his movements is that his tail is so quiet. Watching other horses and they swish and flick their tails during changes, piaffe and piaffe. Yet Valagros tail is unchanging.
Clive Wilson when some horses flick their tails it can actually help them to balance( kinda like a cat ) but I 100% know where you're coming from. Constant flicking usually does meen iratation, and usually it's followed by ear pinning as well. I absolutely adore how valegro is always so calm :-)
They are unfortunately likely having an irritating agent placed on the tail or rectum to make it more "elevated." Valagros appears to have a really relaxed relationship with her, rather than a fearful animated one. Dressage needs proper animation and relaxation when the routine calls for it. However, constantly swishing tail also coincides with improper collection and pain. A horse should feel encouraged by the rider to keep its hindquarters engaged and help it feel better for more intensive exercise. It shouldn't collect due to pain response.
I'll miss seeing Valegro in the showring but at least he wasn't like some show horses, abused into performing well past their prime. So glad he has such a wonderful home. :)
Im glad he's staying with Carl too! I beleive he's still doing a few demos and will still be ridden but he's mainly retired from competitions. Its so lovely to know he'll be chilling out in a feild and hacking though!
abi equine Only from competition! Carl and Charlotte said during the ceremony that they want to retire him at the top of his game, he'll still be ridden and taken to demos. Dont think there will be another horse as amazing as him though!

Fantastic horse, and Fantastic trainer well done!
Valegro looks the part and you can so tell he enjoys every moment such a beautiful horse and his owner is very lucky
I adore Valagro and Charlotte!
So jealous you saw him!!!! Obsessed!!
Soft as butter, smooth as cream. A virtuoso.
Interesting that she appears to be the only rider wearing a protective helmet. Good for her.
She got thrown out once and hit her head. Ended up in the hospital. After that she always wore her helmet.
Biggest dream of every dressage rider🐴❤️❤️❤️
That canter is just glorious.

No pressure, warming up and coming face to face with this partnership.
