Sure the dub is funny when you forget that half the characters are nut jobs and the main character is like 13 or 14, Honestly I think the over the top dialogue is perfectly logical.
At least the dub for Ghost Stories was actually witty and funny. The DW dub was just some Horseshit Phony Circus Nonsense with swear words. They are not in the same league.
Please read the manga for anyone who liked the show! I read it because I wanted to know what happens next and it was an amazing experience, very different from the show
I watched this last year in one day and it was a great time. I felt like this was edgy trash, but the whole thing was done with a nod and a wink so it felt like I was laughing with the anime, not at it. If it was deathly serious I could see myself hating it just like you did. Thankfully for me, I generally always watch dubbed if I have the option, so I never was stuck with the original sub.
so the reason Ganta was mad when she threw the datachip into the room is because the room was already on fire which means when she tossed it and closed the door he just assumed it would of exploded anyway and she was JUST trying to destroy the chip. its actually a reasonable conclusion in the heat of the moment. but he is still a twat waffle for most of the show
Yeah, I thought the same at the moment. And even counting with Shiro being very clingy to Ganta would have make him thought that she didn't want him away from her. Yes, Ganta is still a crybaby... but I've seen Shinji from Evangelion and "Yuki" from Mirai Nikki so I'm kind of numbed to it.
Yeah and I am still bummed still didn't get a season 2. However I did came to realize that anime was really different from its manga counterpart, because they changed a lot of details and removed even certain important characters from the manga. So I can see why didn't get a second season. But just read the Deadman Wonderland Manga its better and there is actual story.
I've never used the word Flabbergasted before, but it's a perfect word to describe me while watching this Dub. While it's actually pretty epic, I can totally understand why the show got cancelled 🤣
The show got a rushed noncanon ending and canceled cause it wasn’t nearly as popular as it’s manga counterpart in Japan, not because of it’s dub. Also it’s dub is perfectly fitting seeing as the Main character is like 13-14 years old and half the cast are literally lunatics.
I can deadman wonderland is definitely ahead of time created by studio manglobe that creates gangsta, trule a banger and sadly is its last anime which at least goes off in a bang before bankruptcy however deadman wonderland is a plot with a holes size of Texas so many unquestion plot ,skip story and arc all I have to say animation terrific, bloody and gore love it just make a fucking story pacing
When Shiro threw the data chip into the fire we could see a barrel of something flammable. It's pretty safe to assume that Ganta thought the explosion was from that and not the data chip.
For me, I never saw that barrel but it felt odd that any explosion, especially one of that magnitude, could come from something that small and Shiro seems like the kind of crazy to just throw it into a fire for any reason or none at all, if I’m being honest
@@joshuaharris3039 good point honestly. I never found it hard to believe that Ganta would actually get mad in that situation, I always saw his reaction as completely understandable. I don't even like Ganta that much as a character but in this particular situation it seems like people are just exaggerating his flaws to have an excuse to be mad at him even more.
Hell yeah, I remember it amd it's still amazing to me. I'm talking about the manga too. The manga after season 1 is frikin amazing. Especially the surprise romance in the end
It was definitely this series that got me checking the manga but I just don't get why they cut stuff out comparing the manga, maybe time constraints or something. In this day and age it would be understandable considering how some characters and themes are viewed such as the character Chaplin, he would be a bit controversial in anime form to people.
I feel like the anime did no justice to Ganta's character. In the manga, you get the sense he's an underdog, standing up against an insane world, but in the anime, he's just a whiny little bitch.
There were some missed chances to flesh out more characters but then some of those scenes involved the cut characters too. The anime did portray him the same as many other MCs like Eren from AOT and others when they started out.
I will die on the hill defending this show and more importantly the Manga, it’s fucking art and idc what anyone thinks, the sheer creativity of this show is gold.
Yes, this anime is one of the best, sure it’s not equal to its manga at all but it’s still a good little blast of fan service that I love just as much as the manga, especially since I know why it failed as anime.
I remember I was reading the manga for this around the time it came out and I found the anime was garbage. Much like the anime adaptation of Tenjho Tenge - which is arguably worse than this - it was a slapped together piece of boiler plate shite. The Adult Swim dub didn't help matters. Hell, the only thing I remember liking about this series was the OP.
Yeah the Tenjou Adaptation was only limited to adapting the Long Backstory Arc and the Manga wouldn't be finished until 6 years later after Anime ended
DMW is not garbage, The anime isn’t a great adaptation but I will die on the hill of defending both mediums, DMW is one of my all time favorite pieces of art.
@@ManimeMatt dude Ganta is a middle schooler, it’s perfectly logical for a 13 or 14 year old kid to act like he does. Especially in the nightmarish lunacy of a situation he is in.
Removed it was cut short by over 30 chapters. Animes tend to alter a lot to fit more of the basic story beats into the show it's a limitation of the budget.
The anime isn’t a great adaptation of the Manga, it’s a rushed unfinished product because of it’s lack of popularity in Japan at the time, hence the plot holes in the anime and weird ending, despite that I still love that shit.
Who cares about Japan's moralistic stance on private prisons. In a culture where woman are openly groped on public transportation, lusting after underage girls is not only ignored but prominently featured in multiple forms of media and extreme racism (especially towards blacks) is the norm... noone is looking to Japan for guiding moral principle. I enjoy anime but I can divorce the art from the heathens making it which is why I can also enjoy Lovecraft. Those who live in glass houses...
I gotta say, your abrupt cuts at the end with no outro feel surprisingly refreshing, given that everybody else has some kind of outro.
I rewatched this last summer and for some reason, I legitimately don't remember anything that happens.
I read the manga and was kinda aware about the anime. BUT THE DUB? I'm sorry as a dub lover that has to be the funniest dub thing after Ghost Stories.
Ghost stories is fucking art.
Sure the dub is funny when you forget that half the characters are nut jobs and the main character is like 13 or 14, Honestly I think the over the top dialogue is perfectly logical.

They are not in the same league.
As an Adaptation it still holds up really good, the Anime can only adapt so much and the Manga Still Slaps after Anime Ending
2012 teenager me loved this show so much that it was a main reason I got back into watching anime again. Toonami's 2012 lineup was great too.
Same, although I will die defending this show and more importantly it’s Manga. It’s Fucking amazing and Idc what people say.
Please read the manga for anyone who liked the show! I read it because I wanted to know what happens next and it was an amazing experience, very different from the show

Nah it’s not edgy trash at all, it’s good just not a faithful adaptation of the even better Manga.
Dude…I literally JUST rewatched Deadman Wonderland this morning
I'm sorry for your loss

I do like the anime and still haven't read the manga heard it's better though but that banger of a opening is still something I listen to

Also Ganta is literally 13-14 years old and people complain about the show properly portraying a child lol
Thanks for the video ❤
I just wish the anime actually ended lol. Guess i have to finish reading the manga
Hell yeah, I remember it amd it's still amazing to me. I'm talking about the manga too. The manga after season 1 is frikin amazing. Especially the surprise romance in the end
Its honestly not bad. Got it on blueray (not on purpose, but I still appreciate it).

It’s cause the anime wasn’t popular in Japan and so they altered it to rush a noncanon conclusion

This and Parasite was my fave aired on Toonami

The Manga is complete the anime is not.
I've fell into the same boat, preferring the format you first watched.
I just finished the manga T^T

Can you talk about Kaitou Joker?
Deadman Wonderland has a very special place in my garbage dump since 2012

@VainSick it's a good anime sadly when you get cut short you can't do much.
I remember disliking this show (subbed) but I don’t remember why….
Maybe I’ll give it another shot at some point whilst VERY drunk
It seems like a good show to watch while drunk. Maybe do a drinking game where everytime Ganta say something stupid you take a shot.
@@ManimeMatt do you want me to die?! xD

It's been a while since I watched the show. I tried to watch it again but the character writing was so over the top it made me hate it even more. xD
After finishing the manga which I loved and definitely thought is amazing. The anime was a huge disappointed because it had removed and altered alot.
Removed it was cut short by over 30 chapters. Animes tend to alter a lot to fit more of the basic story beats into the show it's a limitation of the budget.

Watched it twice, was trash both times
It was decent. Kinda.

Squid games is a Deadman wonderland😢 rip off 😂 bite me
