Oh and it would play the Presidents Theme song while holding it.

As much as I enjoyed the Demo of this game, I am still more attracted to WADaholic's older project "Total Chaos," the fully 3D doom horror total conversion mod. I know comparing these two projects is like comparing a nice wineglass full of white russian on the balcony in summer, with an absolutely bombastic apple cider with the mates, but still. Total chaos while certainly honest with the inspirations it took felt like its own distinct thing, Turbo Overkill (at least sometimes) felt like just another throwback shooter in an army of throwback shooters. And while I had genuine fun playing it, I fear it is doomed to be overlooked as another "Doom eternal inspired retro clone" and left there. But again, this is a brand new project, who knows what life has in store for it.
The game also somewhat FORCES you to learn weapon swapping quickly, with a lot of guns straight out not working for a brief time after using them. Both smart gun and shotguns force you through a lenghty cooldown or reload animation; forcing you to swap ASAP if you are in a pickle. Some upgrades also feel pretty mandatory, e.g. that money magnet upgrade you were talking about, or immunity while dashing. Getting armor from the chainsaw also feels tough to pass up.

Been playing this one and its absolutely nuts, the weapons and their alt fire modes are insane, theres a telefrag sniper and an ion cannon gun too, shits wild.
Didn't hear about this game but another doom like game? I feel Gman loves the doom style games but I don't hate it I mean it's another Cyberpunkish, futuristic, retro doom game which I also adore that type of style. Idk I might try it out but thanks for showing us this game.
Hes a boomer
@@otomon5 He isn’t an actual boomer lol.
@@otomon5 I think he's either late gen X or early millenial.

Saints Row 4 Reelected:
Minigun/Rochet Launcher/Flamethrower
10:55 Looks like a faster-firing Eightball, I like it! :D
this is one best reviews I've seen in a long time !💯👍

The way enemies are spawned in light balls of electricity is reference to terminator.
No, Gman. YOU are Awesome & Ridiculous. Keep puttin out bangers.
I tried it during the Steak fest and loved it, definitely will keep an eye.
5:43 R.I.P. good buddy.
Cyborg middle finger missile arm? Take my money
I never get tired of the inclusion of Simpsons clips in you videos.
Good timing Big G
Anyone Else immediately thought „WarOwl“ when hearing the intro ?
Looking forward to playing this 👍
Honestly, turbo overkill reminds me of hardcore henry the movie for the main character's augmentations. Having a robotic arm and a robotic leg
Is it me or this old man is getting even better at this type of fps
This is like the weirdest mix between Duke Nukem, SiN and Soldier of Fortune. I like it.
This is pretty much Cyberpunk + Doom + That New Mombasa mission from Halo: Reach as an old school shooter
