As per usual needs a manual left and right lean.. at the very least you know.. like how the hell are you expecting to give a reach around if you can't lean.. it's even more important than this title than any of the others.. maybe some chivalry style body upper body movement you know like you got to.. like it's bad enough to be like oh it's not that kind of game it's like yes it is that every game is every kind of game.. but this game this game needs it otherwise you're just being selfish.. that would be what a cop would do though.. just like R lee Ernie said in full metal jacket.

Fun fact, the costume designs for the Stallone Dredd film were by Versace, so for once in this context, using Stallone-Dredd over Urban-Dredd is justifiable.

@@AlexPlaysGaming Judge Dredd is way more interesting to look at then Dredds 3d mountain dew mess. Judge dredds practical effects are fn awesome and so is the world. Dredd is stuck in a tweaker building the entire movie with a boring side character and lame villain. So no there's way more redeemable things. Stallone fights giant animatronic ABC warrior robot, you get to see amazing neon dystopia sets, amazing miniature work, props, etc. What does dredd have? A mediocre opening chase scene, some shooting, and an abundance of obnoxious post production effects while tweakers use inhalers. Judge dredds story sucks but dredds isn't much better at all and I respect Judge dredd way more for going all out.

I played this demo and a handful of others for indie FPS games. The part I found most hilarious is how THIS game has more "punch" in the shooting than some of the others all while they're clearly aiming to present themselves as more "hardcore". It definitely deserves more attention.

Parody FPSs had been made pretty much as soon as FPSs arrived on the market. Ken's Labyrinth from 1993 was probably the first that tried to be lighthearted and somewhat comedic, but I also remember a game from 1995 called Immoral Cumbat that was the equivalent of drawing dicks on your school walls as a teenager and thinking it was the peak of comedy.

lmao, No I did not expect to get a "window into the rich tapestry that is your childhood". I love all these fashion references! I remember wanting some flame pants because of how much ass Jin Kazama from Tekken kicked in them. But there was always that nagging feeling that wearing clothes with flames on them might be too... "extra"(?) before that was even a word. That feels like the story of my life sometimes: always wanting to go buck-wild, but often being held back by my super ego.

Great game, and I somewhat agree with some of the criticisms, but also almost all of those could be argued to be structured for creating combat puzzles instead of focusing as much on making the gameplay smooth. The combat puzzle structure makes it so that these different rock/paper/scissors elements are necessary to keep everything varied and ramp up the intensity over the course of the game by putting in more and different enemy types that force you into completely different play styles.
Personally I loved the combat puzzle structure, and like with Doom Eternal I understand why people may not like it as much, but I found it really rewarding.

  • @TheAndradeCS
    @TheAndradeCS 2 роки тому +31

This game has amazing humor, the shooting comes second. It doesn't focus much on the gameplay to be honest, it has that thing where it's been called a "Puzzle Shooter", in which only certain weapons affect different enemies, so when there's tons of different enemy types, you have a harder time dispatching all of those crimes because they overwhelm you so much. Thankfully you get that rocket launcher at the end that helps, and games are supposed to be harder the more you play through them, right?
This is a game where the gameplay is a conduit to the comedy, and in that it works. Does it's job well and ends before it gets too much.

There are even some really exciting particle effects in here that echo the fun stuff they were doing in those early 3D accelerator days that they kinda moved away from to make games more realistic. No such thing as fashion in New Zeeland where everyone is dressed for a funeral or they're wearing their PJs and slippers to the supermarket for some movie snacks if they could squeeze thru the entrance or wearing their budgie smugglers more than 100 yards from the beach .

I enjoyed this game from start to finish, and while it's certainly not perfect, at least it has something that puts it above many boomer shooters: it's different.

What game is that shown here and referenced at the 58 second mark? The rain-soaked cyberpunk dystopian future boomer shooter with the guy releasing himself before getting swift kick in and from the behind to go flying over edge?
It looks good too. I feel you on this police squad game giving us a little something different, I’m also interested in whatever that one was.

Oh snap might have to pick this up. I've always enjoyed non-violent shooters. It's always fun watching a team take the inherently violent concept of shooting things and flipping it into something wholesome.

I played a bunch of this today, probably about halfway through. I agree with everything you said about it's flaws to an otherwise cool game. Some ideas for improvements:
-add keybinds for individual weapons. game is like doom/quake but even more important to instantly swap to the weapon you need
-let us rebind keys for the sniper section. I want mousewheel to be zoom god damnit
-add a small delay to respawning in platforming sections. i often just run off the edge again because it happens so fast
-too many invisible walls. lots of places you think you can go while platforming and you can't so you fall and take damage
-whip is slow and doesn't feel fun to use in combat. needs a speed/cooldown buff
-some of the enemies are just incredibly annoying and cheap. fire guy, karen, tiny suit man, all of them can fuck off
-karen gas and the fire guy, that shit takes way too long to dissipate after they die. fire guy also hits you through walls
-the dubstep chick area of effect is just beyond ridiculous.
-why does the shotgun have to reload? none of the other weapons do
-introduce knockback on hit or some kind of stun like in classic doom. would help a lot with enemies like scooter bro who charge at you

This game looked decent until I realised you have to use certain weapons on certain enemies. I'l add it to the 'get it when its on sale' list.

I think to balance the game more is to have all the guns do damage, but the specific guns meant for certain enemy types do more damage. Maybe they have a higher chance of dropping health/power-ups.
