Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud: Barn Swallows and their Nest-Building Ritual

Imagine having to gather mud with your mouth and then using it with grass to build a nest! For Barn Swallows, it’s just an annual routine. Talk about a master architect. After selecting a mate and building a nest, eggs are laid. Once the young hatch out, imagine having to continuously zip through the air to catch insects to feed the babies.
