SO true and the world is all the poorer for it. never the less Dan has created his own little piece of paradise, which includes the occasional little yell from the tykes behind the fence :)
💞Annalise is a sweetheart. She either grew up in a loving home where that behavior was mirrored, or she has learned to recognize the incredible power of positive reinforcement in her lifetime. Either way, bravo! 😉Praise (&/or authentic words of validation) is the key to happy relations. It inspires others to be the BEST 🤗 version of themselves. Both sexes respond well to sincere adoration (or admiration) & appreciation. 💪It makes you feel invincible and capable of almost anything. 🤔Catching someone when they do something good is leagues ahead for getting repetitive positive behavior too. It's far more effective than shaming someone when they did wrong. (😔Like rubbing a puppy's nose in an accident 💩.) Or, withholding your affection or regard when someone falls short of the mark or makes an honest mistake. 😘Her compassion and understanding goes a lot further to make a person feel accepted & loved even when they fail to measure up. 🐩Annalise is truly gifted in building others up with her words. 🚘Noticed that she consistently makes an effort to fill⛽ the tank of all her boys with encouragement & praise over their efforts & accomplishments. ♀️She's a great example of using her feminine force for good. This could well be her super power. ♂️If I had to pick Dan's love language from observation, I would say "acts of service." 🚿He may not shower others with warm words, but he'll change your oil, wash your car, put a new floor in your kitchen, transform your garden, etc.
@Teresa Carle you are so very right. Sadly I grew up in a home where I was just the opposite. Thank God I have people like Anneliese to watch and learn from, so that I am reminded to often mirror that kind of behavior in my own life and interactions.
The floor is stunning, this kitchen is going to be such a success, all the more when you consider what you had to start with. And seeing Jack help out each and every time is a real treat! What a kid!
Floor looks bloody fantastic Dan and the island looks like to always been there and part of the original bakery .. brilliant ! Don't forget to get some rest 👌
Beautiful. The one side of the bread oven curve is driving my OCD crazy where the drywall is covering part of the curve. It is all so beautiful though. Dan is amazing handyman with all he can do. Such a strong little guy and great helper is Jack. They are just too cute!
Ohhh my goodness; looks amazing . You are a man that can do everything , and very nice that your wife and kids are part of this ❤, blessings from Kansas USA
Thats the stone my mum and dad layed in their house in 1968. Its a gorgeous stone and so easy to clean. The first years mum regulary scrubbed the floor with brown soap and after a few years it had a beautiful sheen. Since that time it never gets scrubbed again. Just a hoovering and a light wash with a wet mop.
May I be so bold as to make a suggestion? It may be nice to "tile" the fireplace niche with your floor tiles for an accent as well as a practicality. I'm envisioning bottles of oils and such on that ledge. Also, it would be easier to clean than the drywall. Love to your sweet family during this Christmas season and I hope Santa brings the boys their heart's desire! Cheers from North Carolina.
Wow Dan your a good hard working Yorkshire Lad, it’s truely amazing what you and Annalise are achieving with grit and determination! Those beautiful boys are a credit to you both too, little Jack helping his Dad, melts you heart! Your parents must be so proud of you both, the Dream Team, oh not forgetting, Annalise the super duper Hair Dresser too! Happy, Happy, Christmas to the whole family! Many, many thanks for finding the time to make and edit these vlogs too! 🙏 🎄 🇳🇿
Cudos for Sylvia's generosity as the tiles add a rich, designer element to the heart of the home. I bet you'll absolutely love the heated floor, too. Everyone I know who has it, rave how nice it is to walk on cozy heat.
That really is a beautiful floor and so much work! I can picture Dan and Sons Ltd, gardeners, tilers, stonework restoration, stove installers, and master chefs.
Sealer doesn’t make the stone impervious to staining. It gives you a chance to clean up a spill before it’s set. Find what cleaner is made to go with the sealant. The grout won’t stay white. It will “patina” or age with the stone. Don’t use household soap as it has oils that will “hold” or attract dirt. The is something called stone soap (hopefully made by the sealer company) that will enhance the sealing properties of the sealant and protect the stone best. I sold stone for almost twenty years. That is the advice I gave everyone I sold travertine to. A wipe down with plain clean water is best for every day cleaning or general spills. And yes it does look amazing.
That floor is a total triumph. So many traditional French homes are ruined by the wrong choice of modern ceramic tile. Ideally the traditional "tommettes" would have been great, but the ones you have chosen set off the stonework and brickwork perfectly. Top job!!
Dan you are a lucky man, 🙂so lucky to have Annelis to help you with it all, 😉and getting all the praise. 😉 It looks so good, love the choice of floor.😍
Great job, we have a very similar floor. Same pattern, similar tiles, only we used dirt (wheat) colored grout. Have had it for 25 years and it still looks great.
Found your channel a few days ago. Watching them all from the start. this is such an amazing transformation! Loving your work and the material choices! Can’t wait to see it finished with that chandelier. What a generous gift! Dan is so talented to do whatever task is required.
This is an amazing pattern Dan ... you are doing a great job and your vision is perfect! Our world would be so much better if more young men were more like you. Annalise is so nice too and both are a great team and so calm. I hope many mentor your personalities. Wow, the grout makes a huge difference. Love your choice of tiles. The sealant really makes the tiles stand out!!! so very beautiful! Such a sweet boy and helper is Jack. You both are such good parents.
I agree that you made a great choice with the floor tiles. I bet by now you have wired up the underfloor heating too and that must feel great!! Brilliant work and if you don't post again before Christmas, have a lovely time together.
The tiling looks awesome.....reminds me of the renovation we did at our place in England. We did underfloor heating, which was the new thing at the time; and I could swear we used the same tiles. It wore very well, and the underfloor heating was the best of the best. I started a B&B soon after...guests would ask where the radiators were. I'm quite behind , almost 2 years on the vlogs, and still finding my way Still love your support for each other. Each of you have many hats...it's not easy work at the best of times...having Thomas and Jack running 'round adds just a wee bit to the challenge but you're young, patient, encouraging, and lots more..You Have a vision...WELL DONE🍁🌻🍂
The floor is absolutely gorgeous!! Such an amazing install!! Was so disappointed when the vlog was over!! It seemed every one in the Chat was waiting with "baited breath" for the show to start! Get some rest, if you can, and have a Blessed Christmas with your precious little ones, Dan and Annalise!!! USA
Amazing work you have done, Dan, and so much support from your family all the way - so nice to see you trying your skills and how everything you try is a new experience, well done. So fun to watch and learn with you.
I'm so happy your wee family are getting so much done for Christmas. What a wonderful job its a joy to watch how much you work together supporting each other. Wishing you a happy family Christmas.
I have so much admiration for the two of you, learning as you go, working so hard and being such a team. My marriage barely survived putting together an IKEA bookshelf!! Kudos to you both.
Annalise,I really like your filming!! It's really interesting, watching the floor be created!! You both are so talented!! The floor looks fantastic!! It looks new and authentic all at the same time!! Love from Vermont
I remember when we put Mexican tiles down years ago and my ex-husband smooshed each tile into the brown cement… I wonder why he did that? Great job!!!! Love the tiles ... everything looks so amazing!!! 😊
That room, island, floors & walls are just outstanding!!! Great job Dan it all goes amazing with the stone walls can’t wait to see it all done bravo👏!!!
When a single divorced Mom with two children, Christmas was early or postponed as family needs arose. Santa brought a new hot water heater one year. He came the day after kids were out of school, so they had time to enjoy their gifts before they celebrated Christmas also with their Dad. If my family from out of state visited, we celebrated Christmas over and over, making it a true season, not just a two hour event. Taking all stress off was the purpose. Joyous Noel!!! Celebrating with four granddaughters in town, sent Christmas for out of town grandchildren to arrive December 15th! Loving time of Year! Much Joy and Love for season!
Men like Dan are so underrated in today's world. Well done, young man!
SO true and the world is all the poorer for it. never the less Dan has created his own little piece of paradise, which includes the occasional little yell from the tykes behind the fence :)
@robert ramsay. Well said! And well done Dan.
So true! They are treasures!
Trying to find me a man like Dan but they are far and few between 😒
Amen!!
Annalise told Dan he was so clever, just like she tells the boys.... No wonder the boys want to help with all that praise for their efforts.☺

Such a man thing as Dan tosses the directions under the island. I am sure that he, like all of us watching, never doubted his skill for one minute.
I didn't know that that's how a heated floor is done. I've never actually seen it installed. Thanks for sharing!
I know!!! There has to be a reason....but why!!!
May I be so bold as to make a suggestion? It may be nice to "tile" the fireplace niche with your floor tiles for an accent as well as a practicality. I like when Annalise asks questions of Dan, because they're the kind of things I would ask if standing there! Looks great guys!

SYLVIA, how thoughtful of you to help this sweet family out with floor titles. Dan, you are a talented man.

A kitchen to die for. It will be even more amazing once Annalise's chandelier is up. Wholly agree with Robert Ramsay's comment below.

Could there be a more adorable helpmate than Jack with the cabinet? Oh my!
What a patient man.
Good on ya.
May the true spirit of Christmas shine in your hearts and light your paths. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas holidays season.
I don't know how Annalise remains so calm, holding camera, and her kids crying.
That's the same heat mat as we put down !! It's been the best thing ever this winter ❄️❄️😸😸
I am really enjoying watching this shed turn into a fabulous kitchen.
That floor is a total triumph. So many traditional French homes are ruined by the wrong choice of modern ceramic tile. Ideally the traditional "tommettes" would have been great, but the ones you have chosen set off the stonework and brickwork perfectly. Top job!!
Oh! Cliffhanger! Teasing us with the appliances, but not showing it all! The floor is beautiful! Good job. I'm excited for you all.
Oh the boy helping carry the cabinet was so cute.
Spectacular. You guys are such hard workers. You deserve all your success!
You have to collapse the lines by adding pressure when you lay them. A rubber mallet also helps. I did flooring for a few years.
oops I hope it still works out
Beautiful floor 😍
Their going to have a very nice new home 🏡 ☺ which they deserve
I appreciate your skills, Mr. Dan. You have a wonderful cheerleader and crew.
Dan you are a lucky man, 🙂so lucky to have Annelis to help you with it all, 😉and getting all the praise. 😉
It looks so good, love the choice of floor.😍
Jack helping move the cabinet was so darn cute
That floor is amazing. As Annalise said it really does pull it all together. Congrats, once again, on a job well done.
Most beautiful tiles I've seen yet. They will look amazing with those walls. Really loved learning the process as well.
Dan is multi talented. The kitchen is coming on a treat.
This floor is gorgeous!!!
The floor is beautiful, works really well with the countertop and walls!
That floor is drop dead gorgeous. It looks great in the room, and I can't wait to see the kitchen completed.
That kitchen is really coming together now. Too beautiful.
Great job, we have a very similar floor. Same pattern, similar tiles, only we used dirt (wheat) colored grout. Have had it for 25 years and it still looks great.
Thanks Dan, for showing that women can be abusive as well, it’s not always men!

Wow, what a transformation! The flooring is perfection.
I want to wish you the most wonderful and merry Christmas. Take care.
Now it's far enough along for me to see how lovely it will look. The bricks and stone, all beautiful, and a heated floor will be wonderful.
Love the floor tiles, same as ours in a 300yr old English cottage. Work you do is inspirational. Well done both.
You two are a great team, the tiles are beautiful... a fabulous result! 👍❤️🦘
Really cool seeing the layout of the heating for the floor.
The tiling looks awesome.....reminds me of the renovation we did at our place in England. We did underfloor heating, which was the new thing at the time; and I could swear we used the same tiles. 😄 I was actually holding all the weight but he enjoyed thinking he was helping
Those tiles 🤩🤩🤩 just wow!!!
The floor is absolutely gorgeous!! Such an amazing install!! Was so disappointed when the vlog was over!! It seemed every one in the Chat was waiting with "baited breath" for the show to start! I’m really surprised how good the floor cam out ! I love it !
It's amazing how the addition of the tile immediately makes the room look more like a kitchen and less like a construction zone! It looks fantastic!
I'm so happy your wee family are getting so much done for Christmas.
What a wonderful job its a joy to watch how much you work together supporting each other.
Wishing you a happy family Christmas.
Looks absolutely fabulous. Well done to the two of you... ❤🇦🇺
